Chapter 1078: The Tier-7 Beast Appears

Jeremy Night was not peeking out. He was well hidden inside the crevice. But the sound of fighting was affecting the mountain bedrock.

Small rocks were falling down from the ceiling. Jeremy Night now realized the seriousness of the matter. Stella had already warned him.

But he had been adamant about it. He didn’t expect so many beasts to appear in such a short span of time. He had thought it might take a few hours for the higher-tier beasts to appear.

But they had arrived much sooner. He calmed his racing heart; he didn’t want to make any noise.

On the other hand, Stella was using her power. She was doing it in a way so as not to alert the two fighting beasts.

Soon, her mental power caught the Tier-7 Stone Fox. The Tier-7 Stone Fox was coming toward the location of the blood pool.

The Stone Fox was moving in such a way that it was not making any noise. Seeing that, Stella was shocked. She didn’t expect the beast to appear silently.

If Jeremy Night had been outside, he would have been easily sensed by the Tier-7 beast. She removed her focus from the beast and paid attention to Jeremy Night.

She used her mental power to cover him more. Jeremy Night, too, felt the cooling sensation in his body.

Boom!

The Tier-6 Ape Beast was fighting against the Tier-6 Lizard. Both of them were exchanging attacks. They were so focused on the fight that they forgot about the approaching danger.

Swoosh!

On the other hand, the Tier-7 Stone Fox was approaching. It was totally enraged because it caught the scent of fresh blood. The fresh blood belonged to its Tier-6 kin.

The Tier-7 Stone Fox suspected it could be the work of Tier-7 Corrupted beasts. The Stone Fox had a feud with other groups. It could be their work against them.

Boom!

A massive Stone Fox over five meters in size appeared at the spot. It immediately swept its massive tail across both beasts.

Boom!

The powerful tail struck their bodies. Both bodies fell backward to the ground. Their landing created a deep pit in the ground.

It created a massive shockwave that impacted the surroundings. On the other hand, the Tier-7 Stone Fox turned toward the blood pool on the ground.

It was almost dry. The beast went to the pool and smelled the blood.

Shriek!

The beast let out a shriek. The shriek was such a high-pitched sound that it would affect anyone nearby. The two Tier-6 beasts were affected as well.

Inside the crevice, Jeremy used both of his hands to cover his ears. Still, he could hear the painful sound. Fortunately, Stella blocked most of the noise.

The Tier-7 Stone Fox was wailing. Two of its Tier-6 kin members had died mysteriously. The Tier-7 Stone Fox was trying to find the killer.

But the place had already acquired mixed scents due to the arrival of different beasts earlier, so the human scent had disappeared from the area.

The Tier-7 Stone Fox was struggling to find the killer. Apart from the Tier-6 Stone Fox, there were only the scents of two other beasts. There was not even the body of the Tier-6 Stone Fox on the ground.

The Tier-7 beast knew the difference between a strong and a weak scent. The scents of the other beasts belonged to Tier-4 and Tier-5 beasts.

So, the attention of the Tier-7 Stone Fox turned toward the Tier-6 Ape Beast and the Tier-6 Lizard. Both beasts felt the gaze of the Tier-7 beast.

Swoosh!

Both beasts stood up from the pit. They noticed that the Tier-7 beast was glaring at them fiercely. They immediately fled from the place.

Shriek!

The Tier-7 Stone Fox let out a furious roar. Seeing that both beasts were trying to escape, the Tier-7 Stone Fox ignored the blood pool and went after them.

Swoosh!

In a flash, all three corrupted beasts left the place. The shockwaves resounded until the beasts disappeared from sight.

Once they were gone, the surrounding atmosphere quieted down. The whole place fell silent.

Jeremy Night then stopped covering his ears after getting confirmation from Stella.

[You should leave the place before any Tier-8 beast appears.]

Stella said to him.

Hearing that, Jeremy Night acted. He started climbing downward. Once he reached the ground, he followed Stella’s guidance.

Soon, he left the area of the fight and started heading back to the core area. The journey became easier because of Stella. He didn’t have to waste much time.

Time passed.

He returned to the core area as nighttime fell. He once again found a series of shade trees. He selected one of the trees to carve out a hollow and hide inside.

Next, he covered the entrance with dry tree leaves and twigs. Once he was done with the process, he began to rest inside.

He had thought that he would encounter a Tier-6 beast on the return journey, but it didn’t happen. He had two days left.

He believed he could find the beast in the remaining time. He had Stella to help him.

[Don’t worry, I’m keeping watch tonight. If there is a Tier-6 Stone Fox nearby, I’ll alert you.]

Stella said to him.

Hearing that, Jeremy Night thanked Stella and fell asleep.

As the night progressed, the corrupted beasts came out to hunt. Throughout the night, the roars of different beasts reverberated across the area.

As the night deepened, sounds of fighting and other clashes broke out. Stella was using her power to monitor the surroundings.

So far, no corrupted beasts had trespassed into their area. From time to time, she used her mental power to cover a large distance.

Yet she didn’t find any other corrupted beasts during her wide search. She was not disappointed. There were still many hours left before morning.

Time passed

She believed that more corrupted beasts would appear during the night. Then she would have a better opportunity to find the Stone Fox.
