Chapter 1077: Blood Pool Attracts the Beast

Jeremy Night climbed the mountain bedrock and found a safe spot to hide. There were many crevices in the mountain bedrock.

He entered one of the crevices where there was enough space for him to hide.

Fortunately, no other beasts appeared in the meantime. His gaze was directed at the pool of blood. He was expecting some beasts to appear.

[There are beasts coming in this direction, but they are not stone foxes.]

He heard Stella’s voice, but he was not disappointed. He thought the Stone Fox would definitely catch the scent.

Still, he decided to ask for Stella’s opinion.

[I think you should have left the place. It’s risky being here. The blood could even attract Tier-8 beasts. They will easily sense your presence in the crevice.]

Hearing that, Jeremy Night realized the risk, but he still wanted to take the chance. If an injured Stone Fox appeared, he could target that beast.

Stella saw through his thoughts.

[Don’t worry, I’ll help you out.]

Jeremy Night heard her voice, but he was worried. Every time she said that, he knew she was spending her mental power. It could take a lot of time to recover.

On one hand, he wanted the breakthrough to happen fast, but for that, Stella needed to focus on her cultivation. Instead, he was burdening her with work.

Stella observed Jeremy’s reaction.

[Don’t think too much. I’m only going to spend a little energy shielding you.]

He heard her voice and relaxed his brow. He then calmed his racing heart and looked down at the blood pool.

Roar!

It didn’t take long for the beasts’ roars to echo. Hearing them, he collected his thoughts and tried to control his aura. He didn’t want to leak his presence.

The higher-tier beasts would easily find him. Right then, he felt a cooling sensation spread through his body. Stella was using her mental power to mask Jeremy’s presence.

Not a single trace of aura leaked from his body. Meanwhile, various four-legged beasts were arriving at the blood pool.

They smelled the blood of the Tier-6 beast and roared out in excitement. Among them, hybrid dog beasts, hyena beasts, feline beasts, and various others converged on the pool.

Roar!

They released excited roars one after another. These beasts were between Tier-4 and Tier-5. The Tier-5 beasts claimed a larger share, refusing to let the Tier-4 beasts near the pool.

Some of the Tier-4 beasts tried to sneak in to drink more blood, but they were immediately attacked by the Tier-5 beasts.

From his vantage point, Jeremy Night used his eye ability to watch from the crevice. In his zoomed-in vision, he observed the different types of beasts.

When his gaze passed over the feline beasts, the fur on their backs stood up. They immediately started looking around.

Seeing that, Jeremy Night was taken aback. He immediately withdrew his eye ability. He hadn’t expected the feline beasts to be so sensitive.

They had immediately sensed that someone was watching them.

As time passed, more and more beasts gathered at the pool. When the blood pool began to dry up, confrontation erupted. The corrupted beasts started fighting among themselves.

Roar!

Constant roars reverberated throughout the area. It didn’t take long for the scene to turn bloody as the corrupted beasts began tearing into one another.

Just when he thought things couldn’t get any worse-

Roar!

A deafening roar erupted. The sound came from the distance, yet the terrifying shockwave reached him clearly.

[A Tier-6 Beast is coming!]

Jeremy Night heard Stella’s voice and understood the gravity of the situation. His gaze fell to the ground below; the Tier-4 and Tier-5 beasts were terrified.

The Tier-4 beasts trembled in fear, frozen to the spot, while the Tier-5 beasts immediately turned to flee.

After a couple of seconds, the Tier-4 beasts gathered enough courage to run. Fortunately, another roar didn’t follow.

Otherwise, the Tier-4 beasts would have remained paralyzed where they stood.

Swoosh!

Jeremy Night watched the beasts scatter. He then saw a massive, four-meter-tall creature approaching the blood pool in the distance.

The shoulder height of the beast was four meters, and its total length exceeded thirty meters. Jeremy Night recognized immediately that it was a Tier-6 beast.

The shockwaves from its heavy steps rippled through the surroundings. As it arrived at the pool, its gray scales came into view.

The blood pool was nearly dry. The Tier-6 Lizard let out a low rumble of disappointment. Opening its massive jaws, its long, fork-like tongue flicked out to lap up the remaining blood.

Suddenly, the lizard stopped. It turned its head toward the nearby mountain bed rock.

[Hide quickly!]

Jeremy heard Stella’s warning and shrank further inside the crevice.

The Tier-6 Lizard turned its head toward the massive mountain bedrock. Its fork-like tongue flickered, and its vertical slit pupils narrowed.

The beast was confused. The entire area was covered in the scent of the Stone Fox, yet it had caught the faint scent of a human.

It surveyed the surroundings once more to pinpoint the smell.

Roar!

Right then, another roar shattered the air. The Tier-6 Lizard was distracted and shifted its attention back to the blood.

Soon, a Tier-6 Ape appeared. Seeing the lizard and the dried blood on the ground, the ape charged into an attack, assuming the Tier-6 Lizard had devoured all the blood for itself.

Roar!

The ape unleashed a furious roar. The lizard backed up swiftly before sweeping its massive tail toward the intruder. The ape met the whipping tail with a devastating punch.

Boom!

In an instant, the two attacks collided. A deafening crash rang out, and the resulting shockwave tore across the terrain.

Both beasts were knocked back, tumbling away from the pool of blood and crashing closer toward the mountain bedrock.

Jeremy Night retreated as deep into the crevice as he could, praying the rampaging beasts wouldn’t notice him.

Boom!

The two beasts continued to fight against each other. They didn’t care about their surroundings. The collision sound reverberated through the forest.
