Chapter 1075: Part 1: Fight Against a Second Stone Fox

Elder Sandra was going through the daily reports. She knew most of the Beast Tamers were busy doing missions.

So much so that they had put pressure on the elders to get the mission lists ready.

The elders were busy preparing the next mission lists so the Beast Tamers could continue to select missions. She also paid attention to the changes in the Leaderboard Rankings.

While glancing over the rankings report, her gaze couldn’t help but stop at the ranking of Jeremy Night. She had thought that one special mission was enough to put Jeremy Night in the top 50.

But changes were happening frequently. She thought that if Jeremy Night took current-level missions, he wouldn’t be able to keep his ranking.

"The young man needs to select a more difficult mission," she said to herself.

She believed it would happen easily if Jeremy Night reached the Tier-4 rank. She was aware of Jeremy Night’s one-week training in City A.

She hoped the young man could find a way to become a Tier-4 Beast Tamer soon. The arrival dates of the representatives could be announced soon.

It was just that they were held back by the battles taking place in the top three zones. If the top three zones had free days, they would definitely come here to select students.

They needed manpower as well. Sandra was not entirely hopeless about Jeremy Night.

Just then, a loud sound came from the mountain crevices. Hearing that, Jeremy Night was alerted. He used his second eye power to see through it.

On the other hand, Stella did the same thing. She stopped looking everywhere and focused her attention on the mountain bedrock.

She could see better than Jeremy Night. She saw a 5-meter-tall beast with a huge, fluffy tail trying to come out. The beast was none other than the Stone Fox.

They just had to verify whether the beast was a Tier-6 or Tier-7 Beast.

Meanwhile, an injured Tier-6 Stone Fox caught the scent of its dead kin. The whole group had separated last night to find the killers.

But so many unexpected things had happened in between. A fierce fight took place. A Tier-8 Beast intervened, and they were forced to flee in different directions.

It was injured and had found this resting place, but right now it was awoken by the scent of its dead kin. The beast’s eyes turned blood-red.

It couldn’t believe that the killer was outside. So, the beast exited the crevices and began to look around. It tried to locate the scent, and it worked out well.

Roar!

The Tier-6 Stone Fox let out a furious roar. The beast had spotted the killer. The Stone Fox saw the human Beast Tamer standing on top of the tree branch.

The scent of its dead kin was coming from the human. The Stone Fox saw through the strength of the human and was taken aback.

It found out that the human Beast Tamer was not even Tier-4. Its cunning eyes flashed. It wondered whether this could be a trap set by the human Beast Tamers.

The beast was intelligent. It thought it was the work of the humans, who might have used the weak human as bait. So, the beast didn’t leap out from the mountain bedrock.

It continued to stand at the entrance, watching everything.

On the other hand, Jeremy Night was using his eye power to watch the reaction of the beast. He could tell that the beast was looking right at him.

From its reaction, he felt that the Stone Fox was observing him. He gulped and asked, "What’s going on?"

[The beast has caught the scent of its dead kin.]

Jeremy heard Stella’s voice. His doubts cleared, and a look of understanding dawned on him.

[I told you before. You don’t have to do anything. The beast’s scent will draw other Stone Foxes toward you.]

Jeremy heard her voice again. He calmed his heart and asked, "What to do next?"

"The beast is not coming out. I’m afraid it might call for help," he said.

[Don’t worry. Higher-tier beasts won’t call for help unless they are threatened. Some don’t even call for help until the end.]

He heard her again. Then, he decided to wait. He thought the confrontation was now inevitable. He unsheathed his blade and started coating it with starlight power.

In the blink of an eye, multiple starlight threads were added to the blade’s edge. He had learned from the last battle; he knew the neck of the beast was its weakness.

The rest of its body was like stone. They didn’t have blood vessels, so they wouldn’t die from bleeding even if he landed multiple slashes on them.

His only options were the front paws and the neck of the beast. The starlight blade shone with a milky light.

Roar!

The Tier-6 Stone Fox released a roar. It felt challenging. It couldn’t believe a weak Tier-3 human was challenging it. It grew angry, and bloodthirsty thoughts flared up.

The beast’s intelligence was blinded by rage. Right now, the beast just wanted to devour the weak human Beast Tamer.
