Chapter 1074: Part 2: Stone Foxes on the Hunt

Boom!

Sounds of fighting reverberated throughout the wilderness. Not just one, but other Stone Fox groups found themselves in a fight.

During their search, they had collided with other beasts, which led to a severe fight. The fight had caused them to forget about their original goal.

Their goal was to find the killer. Their Tier-6 member was killed, and the members could all feel it. So, they had been searching earlier.

But the splitting of the big Stone Fox group had led to this confrontation. If they had stayed in one big group, the other corrupted beasts wouldn’t have dared to attack them.

Right then, confrontations were occurring in different places, including the deeper area and the core area. It had caused more than one beast tide.

In the deeper area, Tier-7 beasts were fighting. The land beyond the deeper area was the unknown land, and they were fighting closer to that place.

Similarly, several fights were taking place in the core area. The Beast Tamers who were all hiding could hear the sounds all night.

They were shocked and scared. They had witnessed similar incidents before, but they didn’t expect this many fights to happen at the same time.

Fortunately, the Beast Tamers were hidden in a safe spot. If they had explored the wilderness, they would have definitely come in contact with the corrupted beasts.

The Beast Tamers had thought the fight would go on until morning, but it didn’t happen like that. The fight in the core area had alerted a Tier-8 beast in deep sleep.

Tier-8 beasts were roaming beyond the border stretch. One of them was closer to the border stretch and started heading towards the fighting spot.

The Tier-7 Stone Fox, which was fighting against the Tier-7 Feline Beast, stopped fighting for some time.

Both beasts had felt the presence of the Tier-8 Beast. They looked at each other. They knew that if they continued to fight here, they could be attacked by the Tier-8 Beast.

They didn’t want to become food for the Tier-8 Beast. The Tier-7 Stone Fox and Tier-7 Feline Beast had reached an understanding.

The Tier-7 Stone Fox was cunning; it retreated right away. On the other hand, the Tier-7 Feline Beast also escaped from the place.

Swoosh!

When the Tier-8 Beast arrived at the spot, it saw that the Tier-7 beasts had fled from the place. It let out a furious roar.

The roaring sound reverberated throughout the area. The sound reached the ears of other beasts in the wilderness.

Even the Human Beast Tamers who were hiding in the safe spot heard the sound as well. They were all terrified to the core.

They knew the difference between the sounds of Tier-7 Corrupted Beasts and Tier-8 Corrupted Beasts.

So, they decided not to come outside until morning. The roar of the Tier-8 Beast reached the core area where some fighting was taking place.

When other beasts heard the roaring sound of the Tier-8 Beast, they stopped fighting. Unlike the Tier-7 beasts, these beasts were suppressed by the sound.

Swoosh!

The next second, these corrupted beasts fled from the place. The fighting had stopped at the right time. It didn’t take long for the core area to suddenly become quiet.

All the beasts had fled from the place. The Tier-8 Beast continued to roar for some time. Knowing that no other beasts were present nearby, the Tier-8 Beast crossed the border and returned to the land beyond the border.

Morning came.

Jeremy Night woke up from his sleep. He opened his eyes and found out that he was inside the tree hole. A realization dawned on him the next second.

He had slept so well that he forgot he was on a mission.

[Good morning.]

He heard Stella’s voice. Hearing that, Jeremy Night smiled and thanked Stella. He understood that Stella must have kept watch the entire night.

Otherwise, he wouldn’t have had such a carefree sleep. He had forgotten the danger all night.

[I accept your thanks. If you had ventured out last night, you would have had a hard time surviving, even with my help.]

Jeremy heard Stella’s voice again. He was taken aback.

"What happened?" he asked.

Stella then took the time to explain everything. Only then did Jeremy understand the severity of the matter.

He didn’t expect the Stone Fox groups to come out in large numbers last night. After hearing about the battles in the deeper and core areas, he thought he had made the right decision to rest last night.

He then removed the dry twigs and leaves before coming out of the tree hole. He landed on the ground. Next, he asked Stella for help once again.

He needed to find two more Tier-6 Stone Foxes to complete the mission. Hearing that, Stella didn’t reject the request. She began to act. It didn’t take long for her to find one Tier-6 Stone Fox.

It had been injured during last night’s battle. Currently, it was resting inside one of the massive crevices of the bedrock.

Stella then informed Jeremy Night and began to guide him towards the location. Jeremy Night followed the track. Soon, he saw a mountain-like bedrock structure ahead.

The structure looked big from this distance, but he knew the bedrock was tall in height. He arrived in front of it a few minutes later.

He saw the bedrock in front of him, though it was more appropriate to call it a small mountain. There were crevices inside that were big enough for the corrupted beasts to reside in.

Jeremy Night asked Stella about it.

[The Tier-6 Stone Fox is resting inside one of the crevices at the top. You won’t be able to fight up there. It’s best for you to wait for the beast to come out.]

He heard Stella’s voice, but he shook his head. He had four days for the mission. One day was already gone. He needed to complete the mission in the remaining time.

"Can you spot another beast? I cannot waste time here," he asked Stella again for help. He didn’t want to disturb her practice, but the mission was equally important.
