Chapter 216: Chapter 216: The Wind Howls
Ling Qianjun carrying two passengers at once on his scooter would be considered a major safety hazard back in Huaxia. They could only get away with doing so because they were currently in Dongxuan Country. The faint coolness of the early morning surged toward them like a tidal wave, sweeping over her delicate face. However, right in the middle of the scorching summer, this refreshing breeze felt exceptionally comfortable and pleasant.
Sitting on the back seat, Ling Qianfan lost his focus for a moment. His body jerked backward, and he nearly lost his balance and tumbled to the ground. Fortunately, he reacted quickly, swiftly grabbing the underside of the seat to steady himself. Staring down at the compact, exquisite electric scooter he was riding, he was filled with absolute delight and couldn’t help but marvel, "Wow, it’s so fast! This little electric scooter is simply amazing!"
In this ancient era, as someone who had never come into contact with modern technology, this was the very first time Ling Qianfan had ever ridden such a novel vehicle. His eyes went wide as he stared in bewilderment at this magical contraption that could run on its own without any draft animals pulling it. He wondered what kind of power drove it to sprint at such astonishing speeds. Feeling the gentle wind brush against his cheeks, he couldn’t help but revel in the fresh, pleasant coolness. Unable to contain his joy, he acted like a child, involuntarily spreading his arms wide as if to embrace the entire world. In that moment, he forgot all his worries and constraints, fully immersing himself in this unique experience.
Meanwhile, Xu Panqing and Ling Yunge were hugging each other tightly, sitting together on the back seat of the electric scooter. They were equally stunned by the miraculous sight before them. Excited smiles bloomed across their faces, leaving them as beautiful and charming as spring flowers.
Xu Panqing’s eyes, bright as stars, sparkled as she stared intently at the trees blurring past on both sides of the road. "This is truly unbelievable!" she muttered to herself, a hint of awe and delight coloring her voice. "To think this little electric scooter can run so fast. It’s so much faster than the ox carts we usually ride!"
Beside her, Ling Yunge was even more overwhelmed with excitement. Gesticulating wildly, she shouted, "Wow! Mother is right! I feel like this is way faster than those wobbly, bumpy horse carriages! Plus, sitting up here doesn’t hurt my bottom at all! And this cool breeze blowing in my face is just so comfortable!" She laughed merrily as she spoke, her crisp, melodious laughter echoing through the air like silver bells.
Riding the electric scooter, the group sped toward the town like a bolt of lightning. What would normally be a three-hour journey unexpectedly took only an hour to reach their destination. When the town finally appeared in the distance, its tall, imposing gates clearly visible, everyone felt a wave of disbelief. They couldn’t help but rub their eyes, as if doubting what they were seeing.
Xu Panqing widened her beautiful eyes, her face full of shock. "Are... are we already here?"
Beside her, Ling Qianfan looked equally skeptical. He muttered, "No way, right? I’ve barely been sitting here. The seat isn’t even warm yet!"
Meanwhile, Ling Yunge was absolutely thrilled, cheering as she jumped for joy...
