Chapter 215: Laughing Out Loud
Chapter 215: Chapter 215: Laughing Out Loud
The moment Ling Qianfan plopped down onto the brand-new electric scooter, he transformed into an overly curious child. He fired off a barrage of bizarre questions.
"Qianjun, why doesn’t this cart need a donkey to move? What’s powering it? And exactly how far can this thing go?"
His mouth ran a mile a minute, chattering incessantly.
Sitting in the front, Ling Qianjun grew increasingly irritated by the noise. Unable to take it anymore, he turned around, furrowed his brows, and shouted with obvious impatience, "Qianfan!"
That single shout was enough to freeze the overly excited Ling Qianfan as if he had been struck by lightning. He shuddered, shrinking his neck like a startled rabbit. He instantly snapped his mouth shut, not daring to utter another word.
Timidly, he raised his head and stole a fearful glance at Qianjun. Then, he quickly clamped both hands over his mouth, terrified that an accidental sound might anger Qianjun again.
Ling Yunge, who was sitting nearby, couldn’t contain her amusement at Ling Qianfan’s comical display and burst out laughing. Hearing the laughter, Ling Qianfan immediately whipped his head around and glared viciously at her, his eyes silently warning her to stop mocking him. However, Ling Yunge paid him no mind and only laughed harder.
At that moment, the previously silent Ling Qianjun looked straight ahead and said in a heavy, solemn tone, "Alright, it’s getting late. Let’s go."
As soon as he spoke, Hua Buwan deftly handed out safety helmets to everyone. "Is everyone seated securely?" she asked warmly. "We’re heading out right now."
Even in ancient times, safety measures were a must—helmets were non-negotiable.
Xu Panqing and Ling Yunge, both eager to experience the ride, shouted in unison, "Ready!"
Their hearts were brimming with curiosity. This little electric scooter—which could speed forward without a donkey pulling it—felt like a boundless novelty. They wondered how this seemingly ordinary vehicle actually operated, and if it could truly travel that much faster than walking.
Right then, Ling Qianfan carefully lowered his voice until it was as soft as a mosquito’s hum. "I’m ready too." He immediately ducked his head and clamped his hands back over his mouth, secretly terrified of drawing another reprimand from Qianjun for being too talkative.
Hua Buwan let out an excited cheer. "Here we go!" She expertly started the little electric scooter, and it shot forward like an arrow released from a bow.
Since this was the ancient world of a thousand years ago, modern traffic rules and facilities like license plate checks or crosswalks simply didn’t exist. The winding mountain path they were traveling on was completely devoid of people. As a result, Hua Buwan fearlessly cranked the speed to the max. The wind whistled past her ears with a loud WHOOSH.
Even so, she kept her eyes peeled. She absolutely refused to be a reckless driver or risk hitting a pedestrian. Naturally, if she were back in Huaxia, Hua Buwan would strictly obey traffic laws, yield to pedestrians, never overload the vehicle with passengers, and never speed.
