Chapter 190: Chapter 190: Actually Quite Pretty

With their items in hand, they passed through the Any Door once again, returning to Lingnan in Dongxuan Country.

Hua Buwan had been working hard to regulate her breathing, trying her best to calm her racing heart. It was her first time pretending to be a visiting relative, and she was about to face a group of ancestors from a thousand years ago. Just thinking about it was thrilling.

Before leaving, Ling Qianjun had purposefully stepped out into the woods near the village entrance. Therefore, when they emerged from the Any Door, they appeared right back in that very same forest. Hua Buwan and Ling Qianjun hid behind a large tree, only stepping out after confirming there was no one on the dirt road.

Soon, they entered the village. The locals along the road all stopped to stare at them with curious eyes.

Ling Qianjun was tall and handsome, exuding a powerful aura with his every movement. After all, he was once a General. When facing anyone other than those close to him, he possessed a natural, commanding presence that inspired awe without a hint of anger. Furthermore, now that he was wearing the clean, sharp clothes Hua Buwan had bought for him, he looked incredibly spirited. His appearance seemed to make the rest of the world pale in comparison; the village had certainly never seen such a magnificent man.

Hua Buwan, on the other hand, was naturally beautiful. Her loveliness was like the morning sun—warm and dazzling. Even dressed in simple clothes, nothing could conceal her peerless elegance.

The villagers couldn’t bear to tear their eyes away, thoroughly captivated by the couple’s striking beauty and refined temperaments. As Ling Qianjun and Hua Buwan walked briskly forward, the surrounding crowd of curious villagers whispered among themselves, their gazes filled with speculation.

"These two look so unfamiliar. I wonder whose relatives they are," a villager whispered.

Yesterday, Ling Qianjun had arrived with a large group. Because his hair had been completely disheveled and he was standing among a crowd of exiled prisoners, the local villagers naturally hadn’t paid him much attention. Now, they simply assumed he was a relative coming to deliver goods. They completely failed to associate such a handsome man with the bedraggled exiles.

"Yeah, they look incredibly good together. Especially that man—he’s absolutely gorgeous," another villager agreed.

"Oh my, I think the woman is stunning too! She looks just like a highborn lady or a wealthy heiress. I’ve never seen such a beautiful young lady in my life. Today has really been an eye-opener."

"If you put it that way, the man beside her must be a young nobleman. Otherwise, he wouldn’t look so impressive. You can tell at a glance that his aura is entirely different from ordinary folks like us."

"Right, right, right! I think so too."

"I feel like if we stood next to them, it would be like comparing mud on the ground to clouds in the sky. They are just like those heavenly clouds—so breathtakingly beautiful."

Hearing the villagers’ chatter, a slightly awkward smile touched Hua Buwan’s lips. However, since no one was asking her any direct questions, she naturally didn’t strike up a conversation. She knew that once she started, the questioning would be endless.

After admiring the pair, the villagers’ attention naturally shifted to the items in their hands.

"Are those iron pots? Two large iron pots! They look to be of great quality; they’ll definitely be amazing for cooking."

"That cleaver is gleaming. Chopping vegetables and meat will be a breeze with it."

"And look at all those other tools. Anyone who manages a household knows how practical those things are."

"Hey, are they carrying shoes? How come I’ve never seen shoes like that before? They’re strangely pretty."
