Chapter 189: Business Opportunity
Chapter 189: Chapter 189: Business Opportunity
Hua Buwan gently handed a set of ancient-style clothes to Ling Qianjun, her eyes sparkling with anticipation. She had already imagined what he would look like in this outfit countless times, but she wasn’t sure if reality would match the image in her head.
"Try this on," she said with a smile. "I bought it for you a while ago but never got the chance to give it to you."
Ling Qianjun raised an eyebrow slightly. He hadn’t expected her to buy him clothes. When did that happen? She even knew his size? He wondered if she had prepared this long ago. Taking the garments, he felt the soft texture of the fabric, and a wave of warmth surged in his heart. He looked at Hua Buwan, nodded, and turned to walk into the restroom.
Giving him privacy, Hua Buwan tactfully looked out the supermarket doors.
A moment later, Ling Qianjun emerged from the restroom. The indigo-blue ancient attire fit him perfectly. Its exquisite tailoring and delicate details effortlessly accentuated his handsome features.
Hua Buwan looked at him, her eyes filled with satisfaction. She stepped forward and gently adjusted his collar. "It looks great. This outfit really suits you." It looked as if it had been tailor-made just for him.
In that moment, Hua Buwan felt that if the male leads in all those novels needed a real-life template, it would be the man standing right in front of her. Every movement and expression, coupled with his model-like physique, perfectly matched the descriptions of a fictional hero. It was simply too spot-on!
Ling Qianjun offered a slight smile. "Thank you, Buwan," he said, his gaze brimming with gentleness and gratitude.
The two exchanged a knowing smile.
However, Hua Buwan soon realized that she hadn’t been attentive enough. She had bought him the clothes but completely forgot to buy a matching pair of shoes. He was still wearing his previous footwear, which looked rather out of place. The cloth shoes he had worn out of the Capital City had rotted away long ago; afterward, they had resorted to wearing woven straw sandals. Straw sandals were the most practical item for the journey of exile—if they broke, one could simply gather more grass to weave a new pair. Later on, almost everyone in the exile group had two pairs of straw sandals on average, as cloth shoes had been phased out during the earlier legs of the journey.
Hua Buwan felt a pang of frustration, wondering how she could be so careless. She decided to go buy him a suitable pair of traditional shoes tomorrow to complete the look.
"No, I need to place the order tonight. I should also order shoes for the Ling family," she thought.
Now that they had reached their destination, they no longer needed to walk in straw sandals and would still require regular cloth shoes for daily wear. But for beachcombing... Wait. Hua Buwan suddenly thought of the perfect item: rain boots. Beachcombing barefoot always carried the risk of injury, and soaking their feet in seawater for long periods wasn’t good for their health either. Wearing rain boots would be the best solution.
She let Ling Qianjun know and quickly hurried around to the back of the shelves to grab a pair.
Ling Qianjun tried them on while listening to Hua Buwan list their benefits.
"Rain boots will protect your feet from getting soaked in seawater and prevent them from being scratched by shells or reefs. Plus, it’s much easier and more comfortable to walk on the beach in them, so you can explore the ocean to your heart’s content!" she explained. She went on and on, occasionally showing off her own pair of rain boots so he could feel their quality and comfort.
Listening to her introduction, his eyes lit up. He realized this was vastly superior to wading into the sea in cloth shoes, straw sandals, or barefoot.
Seeing that he was tempted, Hua Buwan struck while the iron was hot. "Besides, rain boots are incredibly practical. You can wear them when it rains, too."
After thinking it over for a moment, he agreed with her reasoning. He gave a rough estimate of the shoe sizes for the rest of his family and took several pairs of boots.
"This would be a massive business opportunity in their world," Hua Buwan thought to herself.
