Chapter 2309: Chapter 2309: How to Defeat the "Angel

The giant cruise ship covered in Blue Dragon Scales was as if lifted by the sea, crashing through the Glimmer Giant whose surface was continually absorbing glimmers.

"What kind of Maze Lock is this! Light Spell!"

But as the "Radiant Messenger" passed through the giant’s chest and plunged back into the ocean, the heavily wounded giant swung its hands, creating limitless light with the most basic "Light Spell", tearing the world of the "Sea of Darkness" apart.

The Maze Lock was broken, but Miss Eles was not injured; she floated in the air, observing the surroundings which had turned back into the River Valley and Creekland scenery.

Yet "Light Chaser" had reverted from the Glimmer Giant state back to a normal-sized human. He didn’t care about the metal box falling from his hand, his hands covering the piercing wound in his chest, filling his body with a layer of glimmer, thus regenerating his flesh.

This was somewhat similar to Shard’s "Active Soil".

The first full-force confrontation ended with the defeat of this Thirteen-Ring Sorcerer, his powers inherently suppressed by the Dragonborn Girl. But this was obviously not over; as the "Light Chaser" lowered altitude in the air, preparing to cast again, he suddenly heard the sound of wind behind him.

Turning around, he found Shade Ming who appeared out of nowhere, opening his mouth and spewing a crimson poisonous mist.

The "Light Chaser" naturally heard of the battle two weeks ago at the Sunday beach, so his body transformed into light swiftly dodged, but a crimson Moonlight Wheel followed closely.

The Light Chaser waved and shattered the Moonlight, then saw in surprise that his right palm had signs of flesh corrosion. Just as he intended to use his Arcane Technique to have a duplicate fight two opponents simultaneously, he heard a voice from above:

"Watch me!"

A heavy object was thrown towards his head; the shadow of the object even blocked the sunlight above the "Light Chaser’s" head.

He recognized this as the voice of the elf riding the unicorn, cautious because of the young-looking opponent once pulling out the "Sword of Light", he didn’t underestimate her. Thus, on the Ring of Fate, at least three Spirit Runes simultaneously flashed, a thick bowl-like white Light Pillar shot straight into the sky.

With a loud crash, the thing falling above his head exploded into pieces, debris and dust scattered everywhere.

And when the "Light Chaser" looked around again, he found that whether it was the Dragonborn, the elf, or the man already landed, they were all escaping into the distance.

"Wait, wasn’t I being assaulted?"

A moment of doubt sprung up but quickly faded.

The angel statue that was blown apart, only had its right arm intact now. That right arm spun through the air, flying down to the stream, and at the moment it touched the stream, as if time was reversed, the right arm absorbed all powder and rubble from around.

The petrified angel spread its wings, a slender Cross Sword extended upward from its right hand, a dazzling white halo appearing on the angel’s head. With wings spread open, the genderless angel stood on the stream with no expression, looking upwards.

And the "Light Chaser" also looked down at it:

"Sage-Level Relic ’Weeping Angel’? No...this is bad."

In the distant forest, the three reunited individuals stood together, looking towards the renewed battle erupting above the creekland at the end of the forest.

Shade Ming nervously confirmed:

"Emilia, you didn’t touch the statue’s right arm just now, right?"

"I listened to you, only gripping its left arm."

The Elf Girl said confidently, while Miss Eles holding the metal box reminded the two:

"Look, he didn’t intend to fight; he plans to escape!"

The "Light Chaser" seemingly did not recognize what relic this was. Facing an unknown powerful relic, with three enemies possibly reappearing at any time, even as a Thirteen-Ring Sorcerer, he immediately made the most appropriate choice.

He descended altitude, apparently wanting to search for the box Shade Ming had taken, but after confirming its absence, he transformed into a beam of light, quickly flying towards the northwestern sky.

The sword-wielding angel initially spread wings to pursue but realizing it couldn’t catch up, returned to hover above the Wuming Creekland at the foot of Vulture Mountain, then vanished from the perspective of the three.

They waited a while longer, confirmed the Light Chaser would not return, then emerged from the forest back by the creek.

Apart from the pierced mountain body, some trees leaned due to vibration, and fragments from the mountain’s side wall scattered across the river beach, the tranquil valley creekland seemed unchanged. The mottled tree shadows cast spots in the clear stream, pebbles glint beneath the water facing the sun.

On the stone platform stood three intact statues, the angel statue with arms opened seemed like it hadn’t moved at all, making Emilia who flew with it moments ago tug Shade Ming’s coat with wonder, hiding behind him:

"Should we still provoke it? Why do I feel that stone statue angel is more formidable than the Thirteen Rings just now."

"No, the Light Chaser is more formidable."

Miss Eles corrected:

"The Light Chaser was only restrained by my Arcane Technique, and it didn’t try using Sublimation Incantations either. If it really comes to a fight, I cannot defeat it one-on-one."

Emilia nodded like a pecking chick:

"Is that so... I am also an Elf. Angels seem to shelter Elves, could it perhaps spare us from attack because of my lineage?"

The Sharp-eared Elf Girl, also unaware of what kind of Relic this was, asked fearfully again. Shard laughed and shook his head:

"That’s probably not possible, but you can try to see what blessing the statues here can give you. Since we came all this way, we shouldn’t leave empty-handed."

In fact, he was still worried about the "Light Chaser" returning, so he intended to leave as soon as possible.

Emilia then rode the Unicorn to the front, again alongside Shard and Miss Eles to the stream’s surface.

Jumping off the back of the little beast and onto the stone platform, she examined the two Elf statues, finally deciding not on the girl wearing the flower crown, but instead reached out to the kneeling Elf with a longsword at her feet:

"Um, ahem, I am a descendant of the Moon Creek Elf, seeking your blessing."

As her fingertip touched the statue, Emilia paused before withdrawing her hand. Though seemingly nothing happened, Shard and Miss Eles could feel the Enlightenment Element rejoicing within her soul:

"I learned a set of Elf sword dance and some Elven Spellcraft that requires Ancient Elvish Language... These two are ancestors of the Oak Clan, though I don’t know their names, they seem to like me a lot.

Oh, the Oak Clan is also in Saint Byrons now. After returning to the city, no, after the matter at Moon Bay is settled, I can write to tell them about this place."

After saying this, she softly thanked the two statues again before retreating to the edge of the stone platform:

"Shard, do you need me to leave this area first?"

She was worried that once the fight started, she would be a burden to Shard and Miss Eles.

"No need, just watch from here. Oh, Miss Eles, you don’t need to come along either."

Shard said as he walked alone towards the angel statue. Standing at the statue’s right-hand side, he took a deep breath to adjust his state, then grabbed the right hand of the angel statue.

Indeed, the stone statue immediately began to shake, so its stone wings fluttered, the halo reappeared, and the neutral face of the stone sculpture also turned to Shard on the right. However, it then looked downward, staring at the red crystal dagger in Shard’s hand, piercing directly through its own abdomen.

The stone angel raised its head to meet Shard’s gaze, and although it could not speak, Shard seemed to understand a thousand words from its expression.

But that complex expression didn’t last long. As the cracks spread from the pierced statue abdomen, this antique stone statue passed down from the previous Era collapsed into a pile of fragments of varying sizes before Shard.

Only the angel’s right arm held by Shard remained intact. Shard first reclaimed the [Madeline’s Love], only usable twice, given by "Desire," then carefully took the extraordinary Silver Cross Sword from the hand of the severed arm.

The longsword, rated the same as [Night Watchman], felt distinctly different when held compared to [Night Watchman].

Not only the feel, but this sword is slightly shorter than [Night Watchman], and apparently much lighter. Upon contact, Shard could clearly feel some purification power continuously shielding him, and "purification" is just the most basic trait of this [Angel’s Right Arm].

Other than a faint, almost imperceptible bloodstain near the tip, the entire sword is silvery white. It isn’t like the tempered silvery white of [Night Watchman], but truly pristine silver, as if it could only be displayed in a cabinet as a decoration.

The sword’s blade only has a few feather-like carvings near the hilt as decoration, yet on the hilt of this modestly designed cross sword, a series of runes read —

[Holy Arm Banishes Evil].

Shard placed the right arm onto the pile of rubble on the ground, then swung the silver sword a couple of times. The holy sword reflected sunlight, making a swishing sound in the air, and when Shard tried to channel his spirit into the weapon, it hummed slightly, and a very ethereal shadow of a Pure White Angel appeared behind Shard.

"Shard, the angel!"

The Elf Girl pointed to the apparition in surprise, and Shard glanced back, already understanding the strongest trait of this sword:

"Interesting, indeed different from [Night Watchman’s] effect. This sword is not primarily for close combat, but for summoning the angel’s shadow to aid in battle."

He did not continue experimenting, but instead dispersed the shadow, then smiled at Emilia and Miss Eles:

"Look, we got the Relic."

"That’s truly amazing!"

The inexperienced Elf Girl and Little Unicorn were both amazed, but the Blue Dragon Girl seemed to have noticed something, her blue eyes focused on the dagger at Shard’s waist:

"That dagger is very dangerous."

"Yes, but it can only be used once now... Do you know its origin?"
