Starting With an SSS-Rank Swordsmanship Talent
Chapter 714: Johan Bordon
Later that day, a stalwart warrior in full steel armor arrived at Orlov’s tent on a horse.
The intimidating knight dismounted and eyed the goat beastkin warriors. "I am Lorans Sapren. Which one of you is Orlov?"
Hearing this, Orlov stepped forward. "I am Orlov."
Lorans turned his head and gave him a knight’s salute. "I come here under the orders of Lord Alaric Silversword to defend the goat beastkin tribe."
Looking at the formidable knight before him, Orlov was excited. "With Lord Lorans protecting our tribe, I can rest assured!"
The goat beastkin warriors were also happy and relieved. Just from Lorans’ aura alone, they could tell that he was powerful.
"There is no time to waste. We must head to your village at once!" Lorans didn’t wait for a response and quickly climbed onto his horse.
Seeing this, Orlov and the others mounted their horses as well.
Lorans led the way and took them outside the settlement where a thousand cavalrymen were already waiting.
"These are my men who will guard your village alongside me." Lorans briefly introduced them.
Orlov observed the one-thousand-man army and spotted several warriors who had the same level of aura as he had. To be exact, there were about ten of them.
Ten Heroic knights!
His eyes gleamed with anticipation at this discovery.
While he was quietly assessing the knights’ power, Lorans’ voice rang in his ears.
"Lorans Battalion, assemble!"
Following his order, the cavalrymen assembled into neat lines, looking incredibly disciplined and stoic.
Lorans shifted his eyes and nodded to Orlov. "Lead the way."
Orlov gulped hard. "Yes, my lord."
...
In the main building of the Double Sun Firm, all the high-ranking members were gathered to discuss the recent issue that was discussed in the roundtable conference.
Other than Rolferth, another Beyonder was also present in the meeting. It was an old man dressed in a clean white robe. He held a scepter in his right hand, his eyes gleaming with divine light.
His name is Johan Bordon. He is no ordinary old man for he is a 5-Ringed Beast Soul Sovereign.
In terms of cultivation, he was on the same level as a Beyonder. However, as a beast soul warrior, the power he could wield far exceeded that of a Beyonder.
Rolferth was respectful to this old man not just because of the latter’s formidable prowess, but because Johan was his teacher. All the things he learned about the trade were from him.
"How did those guys from the tower react?" Johan asked before casually sipping his tea.
Rolferth straightened his posture and responded. "As you have predicted, they offered to help us mediate the situation. As we speak, Elderman Krayos should be on his way to visit the Golden Lion Tribe."
Johan nodded. "That is only natural. The Obsidian Tower also has major ventures in Red Mountain Territory. If they allow a war to happen, their finances will be affected. Although I didn’t expect that Krayos would volunteer to visit the Golden Lion Tribe."
"Then about the human faction..." Rolferth cautiously looked at the old man.
Johan waved his hand. "That is your decision to make. I have already retired. Unless necessary, I do not wish to participate in this matter."
Hearing this, Rolferth nodded. His teacher was already old. He might be a fierce character, but time had robbed him of his strength. He no longer had the determination to advance to higher levels.
"Then I will arrange a small entourage to escort me to their settlement." As an eldermen, he had to maintain some kind of dignity in front of the public. He couldn’t go out without subordinates or people might look down on him.
"Don’t forget to bring some gifts. They may be outsiders, but who knows? I have a feeling that we can work with them." Johan advised.
Rolferth nodded in agreement. "I will prepare a suitable gift for them."
"Good!"
After their discussion, the topic shifted to the progress of several of their recent ventures.
...
"The Northern Golden Savanna has developed well."
Krayos was in his true form, hovering above the clouds, overlooking the prosperous town a few miles away.
Knowing that the situation was urgent, he didn’t bother to ride a carriage to get here. He decided to visit in his true form to save himself the long journey.
Suddenly, Krayos sensed a strong perception locking in on him. There was no killing intent, but a warning had been sent.
That arrogant fellow! It seems his strength has advanced yet again...
A trace of gloom flashed in his eyes as he slowly descended at the entrance of the Golden Lion Tribe’s town.
To avoid misunderstandings, he transformed into his humanoid form and retracted his oppressive aura.
Whoosh!
"Elderman Krayos?!" One of the gatekeepers exclaimed upon recognizing him.
The other lion beastkin warriors were stunned upon hearing this. They all knew about the Obsidian Tower and its ten eldermen.
"What?!"
"Why is he here?!"
Krayos didn’t bother to explain his arrival. He could sense that the Golden Lion Sovereign was approaching. He closed his eyes and waited with his arms crossed.
Soon, the Golden Lion Sovereign arrived at the entrance with Blood Scar.
"Lord Krayos, welcome to our humble town!" The Golden Lion Sovereign displayed a rare smile.
Blood Scar also showed a friendly expression. Among the ten eldermen of the Obsidian Tower, they only respected this guy. It was because of him that the Golden Lion Tribe didn’t face annexation by the Obsidian Tower’s forces.
Krayos opened his eyes and snorted in annoyance. "If you knew it was me, then why did you arrogantly warn me with your perception earlier?"
The lion sovereign forced a smile and replied with a shake of his head. "It was not on purpose, Elderman Krayos."
"I believe you are already aware of the situation here. There are human outsiders in my home turf so I have been on edge as of late. I apologize if I had offended you. It was not my intention to slight you." He explained.
Krayos’ expression eased upon hearing this. "Take me to your place."
"Alright."
