Chapter 763: Nothing’s Going According To Plan... But I’m Happy [Bonus Chapter]

Eluned wore her flowing emerald-green gown, its hem embroidered with living ivy vines that rustled faintly as she walked.

Her silver-green hair tumbled over her shoulders in soft waves, and her emerald eyes looked unusually heavy, shaded with deep bone-weary exhaustion.

Beside her, Morwenna had shed her heavy coat, wearing only a loose linen shirt with the laces undone at the collar and dark breeches tucked into soft leather boots.

Her stormy gray eyes lacked their usual sharp fire, and she was leaning slightly against the wooden doorpost, rolling her broad shoulders with a slow tired grimace.

Silas smiled, stepping up the first two stairs to greet them.

"Hey," Silas began, opening his arms slightly. "You two are still awake...? I just got back from delivering the building supplies to Aki, and I was wondering—"

Before he could finish the sentence, Morwenna lunged forward, her calloused hand shooting out to latch firmly onto his left forearm like an iron shackle.

GRAB!

"Less jawing, Captain," Morwenna grumbled, her voice husky and thick with fatigue as she yanked him up the remaining steps with surprising stubborn force. "We’ve been waiting for you to walk through that damn door for an hour..."

On his other side, Eluned stepped in close, wrapping both of her soft warm arms around his right bicep, pressing her cheek directly against his shoulder with a quiet needy sigh.

"Hubby..." Eluned murmured, her voice sweet and drowsy as she leaned half her weight against his side. "We are so tired so come with us."

Silas found himself being dragged through the grand entrance hall like a prize captive with his boots barely touching the polished granite pavers as the two women marched him straight past the central hearth, through the inner archway, and up the private winding staircase leading to the master bedchamber.

"Wait a second," Silas laughed, thoroughly bewildered as he tried to look between them. "...What were you two even doing? Did you run a night raid on the goblin dens or something? Morwenna, you look like you got trampled by a mammoth."

"Shut it, Captain," Morwenna muttered, not letting go of his sleeve for a fraction of an instant. "My bones feel like they’re filled with wet lead, and if I don’t lay down right now, I’m going to collapse on the stairs and make you carry me..."

"My roots feel heavy, Hubby," Eluned added softly, her slender fingers tightening around his forearm, her emerald eyes fluttering half-shut as they reached the landing. "The soil was demanding today so we need to rest..."

They reached the heavy oak door of Silas’s private room.

Morwenna kicked it open with the toe of her boot, hauled Silas across the threshold, and shoved the heavy panel shut behind them with a solid echoing thud.

THUD!

The bedchamber was warm, illuminated only by the dying red embers of the fireplace and the soft blue glow of the mountain moonlight spilling through the high arched windows.

The fur-lined bed dominated the center of the room, piled high with thick down quilts and heavy wolf pelts.

Without bothering to unlace his boots or give him a chance to take off his jacket, Morwenna shoved Silas backward toward the mattress.

FWUMP!

Silas hit the mountain of furs on his back, sinking deep into the down cushions with a soft puff of displaced air.

Before he could sit up, Morwenna climbed onto the mattress beside him, kicked off her boots with a lazy flick of her ankles, and collapsed across his left side.

She threw one heavy muscular leg over his thighs, wrapped her arm around his ribs, and buried her stormy face directly into the crook of his neck, letting out a long shuddering breath of pure relief.

"Hehe~ Stay like that and let me take your scent..." Morwenna muttered. "You’re my man after all."

From the other side, Eluned slipped gracefully onto the bed.

She glided beneath the heavy furs, curling her slender body tightly against his right flank.

Her arms wrapped around his chest with her head resting squarely over his heart, and her cool fragrant silver-green hair spilled across his collarbone like a living silk blanket.

Silas lay flat on his back, utterly pinned between the fierce calloused warmth of the pirate captain and the soft divine radiance of the World Tree goddess.

Neither of them spoke.

They simply held him with fierce desperate grip, clinging to his torso as if he were the only solid anchor in a turbulent spinning world.

Within seconds, the frantic tension in their muscles melted away, their breathing slowing into deep steady rhythms against his chest.

Silas blinked up at the dark timber beams of the ceiling, his hands resting naturally on their backs with his fingers stroking gently through Morwenna’s tangled hair and tracing the smooth curve of Eluned’s spine.

’Huh...’ Silas thought, a faint puzzled amusement flickering behind his eyes as he felt the unusual clingy exhaustion radiating from both of them.

It was completely out of character for Morwenna to look this spent, and Eluned usually maintained an ethereal unshakeable serenity no matter how hard she worked the territorial grounds.

Yet here they were, plastered against his ribs like two sleepy cubs seeking warmth from the hearth.

A warm contented smile spread across his face, his dark blue eyes softening in the dim red firelight.

Whatever had worn them out, he didn’t care.

...Having them both pressed close against him and resting under his roof, filled his chest with a deep happiness that banished the last remnants of the day’s fatigue.

He tightened his arms around their shoulders, pulling them closer into the furs, and settled down into the pillows to sleep.

...He needed them well-rested for tomorrow, after all.

’What a good night.’

The dying embers in the hearth gave off a faint rust-red glow that barely painted the edges of the heavy oak rafters overhead.

Beneath the thick layers of wolf pelts and down quilts, the bed was an oven of tangled warmth.

Eluned shifted her hip, pressing the soft curve of her stomach firmly against Silas’s right flank.

Her arms, slender and pale like peeled birch, locked around his chest with her fingers curling tightly into his shirt.

She pressed her face deeper into the crook of his collarbone, drinking in the familiar scent of her hubby then she opened her emerald eyes and looked across his sleeping chest.

Sprawled over Silas’s left side, with one heavy tanned leg thrown possessively over his shins and a calloused arm pinned around his waist, Morwenna was snoring softly into his neck.

A stray lock of dark salt-tangled hair fluttered against Silas’s skin every time the pirate exhaled.

Eluned’s grip tightened until her knuckles went pale.

She glared across his chest, her divine eyes narrowing into two piercing emerald slivers.

’...Fuck.’

The word echoed in the quiet hollow of her divine mind, sharp and sour as unripened crabapples.

They had been fighting almost constantly for the past few hours.

It had started down on the bluffs behind the outer barracks, where Morwenna had dragged her out under the pretext of physical conditioning.

Morwenna had claimed with that irritating, smug pirate grin of hers that a goddess sitting on a mossy throne all day would get soft in the hips, insisting she needed to learn a proper swordsmanship style to defend herself if her powers ever failed her.

’And I won’t lie... I like Swordsmanship so I want to learn it too.’

Eluned, refusing to be looked down on by the pirate who had stolen her chance to go to Central City, had accepted the challenge.

They had clashed for a while with wooden practice blades cracking against each other until the splinters flew like chaff.

Morwenna had barked corrections at her footwork, pushed her into the mud, and tried to refine her clumsy thrusts into a fluid ruthless naval style.

Along the way, Eluned had certainly improved her technique, but during the strain of their grappling, while their mana flared and their sweat mingled in the dirt, Eluned’s primordial senses had picked up a thrum deep beneath the pirate’s abdomen.

She had sensed it... She had touched the tiny miraculous spark taking root in the mortal woman’s marrow.

Eluned clicked her tongue against the roof of her mouth with a sharp bitter sound swallowed by the bedding.

"Tch..."

A hot venomous prickle of pure jealousy surged through her chest, making her clutch Silas even tighter against her ribs.

She dug her toes into his calves beneath the pelts, staking her claim over every single inch of him.

...Morwenna was pregnant.

The thought made Eluned’s teeth grind together in the dark... It was maddening. It was offensively unfair!

Eluned’s body did not operate like a common mortal vessel.

She was the Goddess of the World Tree, a supreme ancient entity woven from primordial roots and high divine ether.

For a mortal seed to bridge that vast gulf of power, take root, and begin knitting life within her divine womb, it required weeks of relentless effort.

Silas had poured himself into her night after night, week after week, until the volume of his vitality finally anchored itself into her sacred soil and Morwenna...?

Morwenna was just a rowdy rough-skinned pirate captain who swore like a dockworker and drank hard alcohol straight from the jug... Silas had only slept with her once... Exactly once...

One single night!

How the fuck was she already pregnant from a single roll in the blankets? How had her flesh accepted his seed on the very first try without the slightest resistance?

Worse, when Eluned had reached out with her botanical perception during their sword drills to measure the tiny life-spark growing beneath Morwenna’s navel, she had realized with a jolt of pure fury that their pregnancies were developing at the exact same stage.

...The tiny souls were pulsing in near-identical rhythms, mere days apart in their initial germination.

Eluned stared at Morwenna’s relaxed sleeping face, watching the pirate’s chest rise and fall with heavy satisfied breaths.

She wanted to reach across Silas’s ribs with both hands, wrap her fingers around that thick sun-browned neck, and choke this woman until her eyes bulged.

She wanted to conjure a swarm of thorny brambles right beneath the sheets and curse her to kingdom come... To share this sacred, monumental milestone with a foul-mouthed pirate who had merely stumbled into Silas’s bed on a whim felt like an insult to her divine dignity.

Eluned closed her eyes, exhaling a long slow breath through her nose to calm the violent rustle of her mana.

’Well, that doesn’t change anything... I’m not that angry.’

She pulled her shoulders back against the pillows, letting her divine composure settle back over her ruffled pride.

’I’m happy for her.’

So what if Morwenna was carrying his blood too? A child born of common flesh could never compete with the glorious harvest of the World Tree.

Her own body was godly and full of pure divinity... The child growing beneath her heart was being nourished by the primordial sap of creation itself, cradled in sacred golden ether that mortal lineage could never hope to mimic.

She would weave her divine grace into every bone, every sinew, every breath of the little one taking shape inside her, ensuring her child would be vastly superior to whatever wild loud-mouthed buccaneer Morwenna managed to push into the world.

...Would her child actually be able to wield true divinity from birth?

Eluned paused, her brow furrowing in quiet contemplation as she considered the fundamental laws of the celestial realms.

’No,’ she thought, reality asserting itself with a gentle sobering weight.

Silas was human, and a true child of two realms would start with the vessel of a mortal, even if anchored by his Mythic Gold Core.

Her child would likely not inherit active divinity right away... It would have to cultivate its path, earn its ascent, and unlock its heritage through the fire of trials just as Silas had, it made her glad as her child would have experiences.

’But I’m happy.’

The thought bloomed in her chest like a white blossom opening beneath the morning sun, feeling utterly untainted by jealousy.

A baby was growing inside her... Silas’s child... A living, breathing piece of the man who had brought warmth back to her lonely frozen existence...

Eluned smiled, her eyes crinkling in the soft shadows as she slid her right hand down the curve of his hip.

She slid her palm down and gave his crotch a playful possessive pat through his trousers.

PAT!

’My Hubby is very fertile, hehe~’

A giddy mischievous flutter tickled her throat.

Two women, pregnant at the exact same time, carrying his lineage forward in Blessed Land... It was proof of just how boundless his vitality truly was.

’This is just the beginning of course.’

Elu wanted five or six children.

Yes, that sounded like a proper, respectable family for the Lord of Blessed Land.

A whole flock of little boys and girls with dark hair and blue eyes chasing the royal spiders through the courtyard, climbing the branches of her sacred grove, and wrestling the wolf pups in the paddocks.

...And even with the staggering near-impossible gap between their power tiers, if this much continuous bedding was what it took to bridge that divine divide, she didn’t mind doing it a lot more.

In fact, she didn’t mind doing it for the rest of her life.

’Sex with Hubby is the best feeling.’

Eluned leaned up on her elbow, hovering over Silas’s peaceful face.

She pressed her soft cool lips against his cheek, lingering against his jawline where the faint stubble tickled her skin.

’I love you forever.’
