Chapter 823 - 820 Operation
Chapter 823: Chapter 820 Operation
Freya emerged from the depths of the Forbidden Mountains and finally arrived at the location where she had originally picked up the Kryptonite ore.
"I remember it should be right here." Freya stood at the bottom of the cliff, looking up towards the peak. There wasn’t much vegetation up there, only numerous protruding rocks.
She walked around the area and quickly found the marker she had made previously. When she first picked up the Kryptonite ore, she had left a mark to make it easier to find later.
"Up the mountain," Freya didn’t hesitate, taking the lead to find the path leading up the cliff.
"Yes," The special operatives responded, following behind Freya.
The cliff wasn’t very high, so it didn’t take much time. Freya led her team to the top, where the ground was covered in large rocks. Some were buried in the dirt, with only a portion exposed.
She recalled the identification methods written in Lucas’s letter, thought for a moment, and looked at the rocks on the ground. Finally, she picked a rock the size of a human head, took out the combat knife she carried with her, and tapped the rock’s surface.
"Really hard," Freya frowned slightly. This rock was unusually hard. She turned to the special operative behind her and said, "Give me the military shovel."
"Yes," A special operative unfastened the military shovel attached to his body and handed it her.
Freya took it and began striking the rock. Gradually, stone chips fell away, and pieces of the rock’s outer crust peeled off, revealing its interior.
As the stone crust fell away, a streak of green appeared in Freya’s eyes. Under the reflection of the sunlight, it emitted a green glow.
"This should be the Kryptonite ore. It’s truly beautiful," Freya breathed a sigh of relief. It seemed she hadn’t found the wrong place. This rock, just like the one she had picked up before, was green inside.
She turned to the soldiers and ordered, "Bring this rock with us."
"Yes," A special operative immediately stepped forward, using linen to bag the rock.
The wolf-eared girl then began investigating the surroundings. She struck over a dozen rocks consecutively. Five or six of them were green inside, and all of them were loaded into gunny sacks.
This surprised Freya. She hadn’t expected to find so many pieces of Kryptonite ore in the end.
Moreover, looking at the situation, it was highly likely that the majority of the rocks buried in the soil were Kryptonite ore. In other words, there was a Kryptonite vein here.
If this was truly the case, then this place was very important. Although Lucas hadn’t mentioned in the letter what Kryptonite ore could be used for, anything that caught his eye would not have a low value.
"You five, stay here and guard this place. The rest of you, return to Sedona City with me," Freya pondered for a moment and decided to leave a garrison of five.
"Yes." Two special operatives, two soldiers, and one birdkin were left behind.
"Take the ore, travel at full speed," Freya commanded deeply.
The soldiers hoisted the sacks filled with Kryptonite ore onto their backs, left enough supplies for the five remaining behind, and followed her down the cliff, heading toward Sedona City.
"At this speed, we should make it back to Sedona City in eight days," Freya calculated the journey.
She needed to quickly return to Sedona City, requisition more supplies, and then return to the depths of the Forbidden Mountains. Jones was still stationed there, and her remaining supplies were running low.
Unwittingly, Freya had fully integrated herself into the collective of Sedona City. She suddenly felt that leading teams on missions like this wasn’t bad at all.
Most importantly, Princess Annie was very safe in Sedona City, so she didn’t have to worry.
"Perhaps continuing like this wouldn’t be so bad," This thought suddenly popped into Freya’s mind.

Also within the Forbidden Mountains, two other groups were advancing.
One group was led by Rhea, flying in a straight line from the air towards the location with the black oil fruits.
The group consisted of six birdkin. Not only that, but trailing behind them were six hot air balloons, totaling twenty people. They were heading to the valley in advance to stand guard and harvest the black oil fruits.
"At our current speed, it will take about two more days to reach that valley," Rhea said coldly, a murderous intent in her eyes.
"We can finally avenge them," Salina said in a deep voice. She had also come this time, ready to slay the dragon.
"Yes," Rhea took a deep breath.
This was all thanks to the military crossbows provided by Lucas, allowing her to realize her previous wish. She had already tested the power of the new military crossbows; penetrating a dragon’s body would be absolutely no problem.
The other group also had the valley containing the black oil fruits as their destination, but they were advancing on the ground. Led by special operatives and soldiers, the birdkin Donny guided them from the air.
Among them were eight special operatives, over thirty soldiers, and over a hundred civilians. They were transporting massive amounts of supplies, preparing to build a base in the valley with the black oil fruits to guard and harvest them.
The one leading the group was Number Four from the first batch of the war wolves squad, who was also the instructor for these people. Now, he had been dispatched to guard the valley.
"Hurry up, advance at full speed!" Number Four shouted at the top of his lungs.
"Yes, sir!" Everyone roared in unison, increasing their speed once more.
In the air, Donny was drawn by their roars, sighing emotionally inwardly. "The soldiers under Lord Lucas are so much stronger than those so-called noble knights."
He turned his head to look at the distant sky, his face pulling into a helpless, bitter expression. "Big Sister really is something else, dumping me here while she runs off to slay a dragon."
He had originally planned to follow Rhea to slay the dragon, but was rejected on the grounds that he was still too young. It was unsafe for him to follow along to kill a dragon, and the follow-up team also needed someone to guide them.
So, just in case, they unanimously decided to leave Donny with the follow-up team, guiding the troops accurately towards the valley.
If he didn’t agree, Donny would have had to stay at the air force base to train, or go act as an aerial patroller at the castle.
"Big Sister should be fine, right..." Donny muttered to himself, a look of worry in his eyes.
"Killing that dragon shouldn’t be a problem, right? After all, she has the weapons provided by Lord Lucas."
In the end, Donny found a reason to reassure himself.
"There won’t be any problems... but what if?"
Slap!
"My stupid mouth, please don’t let there be a ’what if’..."
Donny’s muttered rambling echoed through the sky.
