Chapter 2056: Disorder Descends (III)
“Chaos beasts are indeed short on spirit.” Li Hao couldn’t help but sigh at this point. “Long Zhan is also biased and drew a lot of energy to the four regions, making the chaos beasts there smarter...”
In other words, the tiger was seriously a bit stupid. It was incredible that it’d reached seventh rank. That meant it had great potential!
Who knew if the tiger understood his words? Li Hao tossed that thought aside.
“I know Long Zhan, I saw him once many years ago. He wanted to take me with him, but I ignored him. He then wanted to capture me, but I ran faster than him. He’s a dragon without wings, how can he be faster than me!” The tiger proudly puffed its chest out.
The young man laughed again. A dragon without wings... was considered a lizard, hey? Granted, it didn’t matter. Long Zhan probably hadn’t really wanted to recruit the tiger. Otherwise, where could it run to?
Li Hao settled back comfortably on the back of the tiger. He didn’t need to travel on his own two feet anymore. Having a dumb tiger for company also made things less boring.
As they chatted, he learned more about the north. The northern overlord was indeed Five Elements, but it wasn’t the only strong faction in the region.
Just as there had been Reincarnation and a host of others in the east before, there were many eighth rank worlds aside from the overlord. Some in the north weren’t that weak either.
Five Elements was the northern overlord in name, but it hadn’t fully united the region. However, the northern powerhouses all tacitly accepted Five Elements as the strongest. While Five Elements couldn’t command those powerhouses, at least the other worlds wouldn’t hinder the overlord when they sought to do something.
“You’ve walked the chaos for many years and absorbed chaos strength from all over,” Li Hao said when a thought occurred to him. “The energy you absorb is also pure chaos strength, at that. Do you know of any quiet major worlds in the chaos that exist in a sealed off state, but have a lot of energy around them?”
The big tiger wandered around, absorbing chaos strength. It’d come out precisely for this purpose.
Based on its words, chaos energy differed between what was pure and what wasn’t. Some places had delicious energy, other places had gross tasting energy. It’d been alive for a while—the tiger wouldn’t have made it to seventh rank otherwise.
It ate chaos energy everywhere it went and had traveled to many places in its time. The north was mostly where it roamed through.
“Major worlds? Sealed off?” mused the tiger. “I think so... but it was many years ago, so I don’t really remember. I think I once ran into one of these worlds that the senior speaks of. There was a frightening amount of chaos strength around it.
“Although there was a world nearby, no one said anything after I absorbed some energy. So... I took in some more than I normally would.”
No one popped up to stop the tiger and it wasn’t interested in devouring the world, so it ran off after absorbing a bit of energy.
That was so many years ago. When it tried to locate the world again, it hadn’t found the place. The tiger didn’t know if that was a function of it getting lost or the world running off.
Li Hao raised a brow. Was that so? Then that truly made it a ninth rank world. Thankfully... the chaos beast hadn’t gotten greedy. While the world might have fallen silent, powerhouses might have awakened as soon as the tiger moved in to devour it.
Setting aside what level of strength the seventh rank tiger might’ve been back in the day, encountering a ninth rank major world now would still result in its immediate death.
The young man found it a bit of a pity that the tiger didn’t remember where the world was. The chaos beast was seriously dumb!
It looked like that world was a wash. Otherwise, he would’ve swung by for a look. A modern day ninth rank world might not be as strong as Five Elements major world.
There were now eight eighth ranks over at Five Elements, each of them a force to be reckoned with. Metal Spirit among the five wielded around six to seven thousand daos.
If the elemental envoys worked together, then they would also rival a powerhouse of seven thousand daos.
......
Li Hao chatted with Skyflight as they traveled. The tiger was indeed fast and quite vigilant. It avoided any major worlds they came across, which was no wonder that it’d survived to present day.
Energy of the five elements gradually intensified around them. It looked like they were not too far from Five Element major worlds.
Seeing as he had nothing to do, Li Hao closed his eyes and began cultivating. Supernatural characters hovered around the young man, startling the tiger. It was the chaos beast’s first time seeing such a thing.
It looked familiar, and whatever powerhouses utilized was bound to be strong. What a pity that it didn’t recognize any of the characters! The tiger grew slightly frantic. It took a while to determine that these were what humans labeled as writing...
Shame that it didn’t know any of them. Had it known, it would’ve taken some time to learn human writing. This was a lost opportunity!
Skyflight had an ample reserve of nerve, so it screwed up its courage to ask what a few of the characters meant. Upon receiving an answer, it joyously turned to comprehending them. Whether or not it actually gained anything from the experience, it now had a new goal of reading some books in its next bout of free time.
It’d be nice to know how to read and write.
Li Hao was amused by the tiger’s curiosity, so he didn’t mind answering some questions. And so, the human and chaos beast traveled in relative harmony.
......
As Li Hao sped for Five Elements Region.
Within the chaos.
Chaos strength roiled in a very disrupted part of the universe. The void shook after a while and a person materialized. His spirits lightened as he took stock of his surroundings.
“I’m... back!”
It’d been so long. One million years.
He’d spent all that time with that group of people. Since he wasn’t particularly strong among ninth ranks, it’d been a stifling experience. He’d finally returned to the chaos and had done so with his primary body!
That was very different from sending a replica.
The dao master of disorder grew agitated. Although he was yet to regain peak fighting strength, which meant he was weaker than how he’d been back in the day, what he could call upon at the moment was more than enough.
“It’s best to keep a lower profile...” murmured Disorder. It wasn’t a good idea to be too conspicuous in the current chaos, due to the lack of spirit.
Look at what had happened to Skyward and Calamity when they returned with such great fanfare! Both of them had suffered an immense setback and lost their replicas. He could not afford to imitate them, not to mention that he didn’t have Skyward’s capital. The replica that Skyward had sent might be stronger than him now.
The chaos was not enough of a mess yet!
The more mayhem there was, the stronger he would become.
Disorder looked above him with a smile. His features grew indistinct and he withdrew his power of disorder. The man looked around, contemplating where to go.
The east was off limits since those ruthless guys were over there!
He couldn’t head to the west since order directly opposed him. Chaos Sky was no weakling.
So would it be the north or the south?
Hmm... let’s go to the north!
The elemental envoys were there. Part of his conditions for descending upon the chaos was that he would be able to call upon the subordinates of the other ninth ranks. Those that they could get in contact with should be presenting themselves to help his campaign.
When it came to the north, their overlords had a close connection to the five elemental dao masters. The two sides should be in touch, so the north was most suited to become his base of operations!
“They need to remember to contact their cultivators as quickly as possible...” Disorder seemed to be both murmuring to himself and giving a reminder to those ninth ranks.
Don’t forget what you promised me! Otherwise, I may not do anything for you.
......
In the depths of chaos dao.
Various ninth ranks were attempting to contact their successors or powerhouses that’d remained behind on their worlds. Disorder had returned!
Their people were to temporarily take orders from Disorder and help him find his footing in the chaos. They were to assist him in countering the overlords and rendering whatever aid possible to Disorder. At the same time... they were to keep an eye on Disorder to ensure that he didn’t collect all of the benefits without doing any work.
They were hoping for Disorder to throw the chaos into further disarray, which would give all of them a chance to return.
Skyward was contacting the elemental envoys through his own methods as well. His losses had been ruinous lately. There was the death of his replica, New Martial devouring Skyward major world, and only the elemental envoys and Coiling Dragon left of the eighth ranks.
Coiling Dragon... had likely gone over to Long Zhan’s side. Therefore, he would only contact the elemental envoys. Coiling Dragon could be left out to prevent information from leaking.
......
Five Elements major world.
A tense atmosphere permeated the massive world, despite the lack of battle breaking out. The newly arrived envoys were no weaklings. While they said they were here seeking shelter, they wanted to turn the tables and seek control as well!
Meanwhile, only three of the Five Elements were left. They needed the group to ensure that they could continue standing against the rest, but were also considering other thoughts such as devouring them!
But since these five were Skyward cultivators, that made Five Elements quite wary. The three didn’t dare make brash moves, just in case that caused the Skyward master to retaliate. Although that one had suffered a loss in the latest clash, that didn’t mean he wouldn't return again.
If he did, Five Elements would be in trouble if they did anything to the elemental envoys.
Under these complicated conditions, Golden Sun of the five envoys suddenly looked around with a new light in his eyes. Wide smiles spread across the faces of the other four when they sensed something as well.
It was... the dao master!
The dao master could still send some messages to them! Chaos dao hovered in and out of sight in the void, helping them sense something.
“Disorder’s primary body has returned... listen to his orders for now and help him find his footing. Seize more spirit!”
The envoys naturally knew the Exalted Disorder Emperor, this was more of a nobody among ninth ranks, but he was a ninth rank nonetheless!
The envoys were highly surprised, a drastic change from their apprehension after the dao master’s replica was killed, Skyward eradicated, and being banished to the north. While it wasn’t their own dao master returning, Disorder had come back with the approval of all of the ninth ranks!
They suddenly had someone to rally around again!
