Chapter 76: Information Game

’He sacrificed them. Looks like they are not so important.’ Leon smiled smugly at the young masters who were about to cause a ruckus now.

"Elder Torsen, you can’t! They are lying! We didn’t do anything! That shopkeeper was really scamming us!" Darian spoke out loud for the injustice. He has been silent in hope that Elder Torsen would save them, not to throw them into the cliff.

"Yes, Elder Torsen. You can’t do this! Are you really going to let us rot in the cage along with those criminals?"

"Elder Torsen, save us, or we will..."

"You will what?" Elder Torsen turned his head back and looked at this young descendent of his family. His eyes filled with rage and thirst to kill.

Elder Torsen also released the pressure of his rank, affecting everyone but Aldric in the room. The young masters looked down, their bodies sweating and cowering in fear.

Leon was also amazed. He could feel if Elder Torsen wanted to; he could kill him in the blink of his eyes. Previously when fighting Aldric, he didn’t release such pressure, as it wasn’t needed in normal sparring sessions, but now it was unfiltered.

"Elder Torsen, please calm down. This is not owned by your family; this is the ground of the capital and the emperor." Aldric spoke up, wanting to defuse Elder Torsen’s anger. He also threatened, mixed with his pressure too.

Elder Torsen snapped back to his senses and calmed down. Turning his head to the front, he said to Aldric. "I apologize. I never thought we would have such ungrateful descendents."

Leon cast Elder Torsen a weirded look. ’Old man, what is wrong with speaking the truth of the heinous act you are doing behind the scenes? Is it really that dangerous that makes you kill your own family members?’

He somewhat felt these smaller noble families had done some unwatchable stuff for him to act like this.

’However, all will be revealed when the purging order comes.’ Leon couldn’t wait for that day to arrive. For the safety of his women and children, all kinds of scourge have to be eliminated.

"It’s okay, Elder Torsen. It happens." Aldric shook his hand and said. "So, on behalf of the family, we will punish these four youngsters for the capital crime they committed."

Darian and others wanted to beg and speak the truth to be free, but Elder Torsen still had his pressure on him.

"Thank you, Commander Aldric." Elder Torsen nodded his head and asked. "Is there anything else? If not, I have to go and report today’s incident to the family."

Elder Torsen expected there was nothing else, and today’s debacle was done. However, the young man he hated the most opened his mouth once again.

"Elder Torsen, actually there is." Leon raised his hand and answered with a jolly smile.

"What is it now?" Elder Torsen asked with his face darkened. He didn’t know who this young man was, but he has foiled everything for them today.

What was just a simple takeover of a shop for proper supply of orc women for the man of their family to enjoy turned into a huge mishap that might lead to their destruction!

Leon pondered for a little, then pointed his finger at Gul-Min and others. "So, it’s like this. These orc women who I rescued told me that there are also many other orc women like them who are getting sold."

"So what does it have to do with me? If there is a secret smuggling group in the district, it is your job to destroy them." Elder Torsen said with a stoic face.

"Uhhh..." Leon acted a little awkward before saying. "Not you, Elder Torsen. It has to do with your entire family. They said most of their clients were from the Valcrest family."

"WHAT!?" Elder Torsen’s eyes widened in shock. For the first time he showed such a strong reaction, and it was reasonable.

’How could these orc women know about the families!? Isn’t it hidden from every one of those guys except for the people in power?’ Elder Torsen was sure most of the orcs knew them as just humans. Their identity was not known to anyone except those in power, as this was in the clause for their alliance agreement.

"Elder Torsen, it is true." Leon said as he looked at his new maids. "Isn’t it right, ladies?"

"It is true. Everyone in the camp was talking about how Valcrest, Rosenthal, and many others were taking us away." Gul-Min attested first.

"I was so scared when I found out some boys from Valcrest would be taking me away." To-Ain said with a saddened face.

"Fortunately, we were saved by Leon. Please save the other women too from the clutches of evil." Lo-In followed up with a request.

Meanwhile, To-Rin covered up her face, her body shaking. No one could see her face, but they could guess she was scared.

Only Leon knew To-Rin’s situation. She was actually trying to hide her laughter, as most of them were lies. Humans taking them as slaves and enjoying them were rare instances. Additionally, they didn’t know anything about the noble families in the human settlements except for the emperor’s family.

All these were made up by Leon, who told them to say it when they meet any guardian of young boys in the commander’s office.

Elder Torsen’s face fell even further. He didn’t dare to imagine what might happen after this. So, he decided to bury this information here, or it might lead to a complete disaster, as this accusation could let the authorities have absolute power to search their houses.

Elder Torsen couldn’t let that happen, no matter what!

Elder Torsen turned his head toward the Gul-Min and others, saying with the intent to kill. "What right do the orcs have to throw such massive lies? Are you trying to disrupt the stability of the empire? Commander Aldric, I think we should kill them before they try anything else."
