SSS-Rank Lord Supreme: The Ultimate Devourer
Chapter 67 Bloodline Bearers of the Mortal World
Bloodlines couldn’t die.
Right?
This was the first thought that came into Neo’s mind.
This situation was more perplexing, than anything he had ever come across.
He tried to poke Devour with his mind but there was no response.
Even more tries yielded nothing.
If he didn’t feel that it was still there, he would have thought it had abandoned him.
As he continued to feel the unusual stillness, a though came to his mind.
Wasn’t this just the same as what he had did earlier?
It seemed Devour was paying him back in his own coin.
Neo almost laughed.
He knew a way to get this bloodline to talk.
It was maybe to do just as it wants.
He focused on summoning the screen of The Ultimate Devourer System.
Hopefully, it still remained there.
It did.
The screen appeared before him.
He looked at the information listed.
It was mostly the same as before, except for one thing.
[Experience - 0.22%]
He looked at it well.
If he remembered correctly, it was 0.2% before.
Was Devour really serious with this thing?
An increase of 0.02%.
What could be the cause?
He looked at the strange creatures all around him.
And thought of what Devour’s nature was.
It made sense.
But only that much increase after all the limit breakers he had killed?
He rubbed his forehead.
Did they not suit its palette?
How many more would he have to kill just to reach 100%?
A number so large, he shuddered at the thought of it, surfaced in his mind.
He stared at the strange creatures.
He almost stood up to start the killing.
But it seemed pointless after further thought.
These strange creatures were just too useless.
Devour didn’t just consume whatever it was, it consumed from these strange creatures now.
There were also other things it could consume.
It was a glutton that had no limit.
There was still no reaction.
He had returned to the space where Devour was.
The place where only bloodline bearers had access to.
He stared at Devour, hoping for a reaction.
But the stillness still remained.
Not even when he called Devour a glutton.
Maybe it was time to let it have its silly little tantrum.
Neo knew he could figure out whatever was needed to increase the experience himself.
The limit breakers who had been somewhat leisurely before, had now become more engaged in the battle.
They had no choice.
There was a sharp increase in the number of limit breakers among the strange creatures.
They could no longer remain as leisurely as Neo, who continued to watch them fight.
The tunnel had become even wider than before.
There was no way for the limit breakers, and the normal F-Rank cultivators to get in each other’s way.
The tunnel was wide enough to accommodate everyone.
Neo was in a mood to watch.
He got into a good position.
He had no interest in lifting a finger this time around.
His first person of interest was Kotil.
The man was a true believer in the might of his body.
Neo had never seen him use a weapon.
Not even once.
He pitted his body against the strange creatures with no care for any injuries.
He seemed to have been fired up by something.
No doubt, it would be the prowess Neo had shown.
He wasn’t the only one.
Everyone seemed to have been affected by Neo.
The way he killed the strange creatures with ease.
They knew somewhere in their heart that they couldn’t match him.
But they would do their best to become even better than they already were.
As Kotil continued with his brute force style, some others were even more refined in their approach.
Samath had activated her bloodline, and Neo saw something that surprised him.
Samath’s bloodline was of the Phantom lineage.
She darted around, her form untouchable.
Neither the stray attacks, nor the strange creatures could touch her.
No wonder she could remain impeccable even in tough situations like this.
Whatever demon she had been matched against in the legacy must have really been tough.
Or maybe it just countered her greatest advantage.
Her daggers packed a punch, and with the speed with which she moved.
She easily tore down one strange creature after the other.
Tukitan was also not doing bad.
His weapon remained the same thin chain, it buzzed about in the air.
It didn’t even stop for once, whipping the five strange creatures that surrounded him.
The man was really brave, but there was a strong source for his confidence.
His speed.
It was even better than Samath’s.
Samath could easily dart around.
Her movement speed was great.
But Tukitan surpassed her in attack speed.
He stood in one place, but his attacks touched all five strange creatures at almost the same time.
Neo nodded.
The Wind lineage.
His bloodline was one that focused on speed.
There were other interesting people among this limit breakers too.
Neo now saw the prowess of the bloodline bearers in the mortal world.
It actually wasn’t too bad.
Not bad at all.
He turned to another person he found interesting.
Suren.
The woman was really something else.
One thing was clear from her current battle.
The style she was currently wasn’t her usual style.
Like Kotil she was also bashing the strange creatures with her fists.
Pitting her body against them.
Her body was no doubt strong, but this was not something she had been doing for a long time.
She had no strong foundation in it.
She was just imitating Kotil.
For whatever reason only she could think of.
Maybe to her, this was just an act of love.
But as the battle got more heated, it seemed love had to go rest in a corner.
Suren called one of her people.
A woman came running over to her.
She removed the great sword hanging from her back, and placed it in Suren’s outstretched hand.
The instant the sword was grasped in her hand.
Her demeanor underwent an absolute transformation.
Neo saw the presence of a great warrior standing there.
A master of the sword.
In his excitement, Neo’s hand almost reached for his own sword.
But he calmed himself.
He watched as Suren mowed the strange creature with ease.
She hadn’t activated her bloodline yet.
But Neo already had his guesses.
He waited for the time she would activate it.
