If the mortals were unsure of what had gone wrong with their world.

Then the immortals with all their knowledge, were even more baffled.

The supremes had been baffled by what happened a few months after the remains of the true outlands were merged into the mortal world.

Indeed, all of it into the mortal world.

After some deliberation by the supremes of both worlds, all that remained of the true outlands was merged into the mortal world.

For no other reason than convenience

The changes had been surprising, but since it was nothing dangerous.

They had left it as it was.

But they did something good this time around, for the mortal world.

A worldwide system had been created to connect all of the mortal world.

Communication became easier, so did many other things.

This way the mortal world could deal with the host of problems created by the supremes merging the true outlands into their world.

Indeed, to the supremes, they had done a good deed.

*

Neo stared at the screen in front of him.

The last time something like this happened, was when he had entered the legacy of the Ancient Supreme.

THE COMMON NET.

That was what the the Immortal World had decided to name it.

He wondered what the one who named it had been thinking.

All his information, according to what he registered with the Adventurer Guild, was listed.

All the contribution points he had left had been converted into merit points.

COUGH!

Someone at the table cleared their throat.

Neo now sat with the team members.

According to them, he had fallen out of nowhere.

Landed roughly, and continued sleeping.

He wondered how long he would have slept, if he hadn’t felt the human touch.

He had woken up when Sofia had covered him with her body.

He wondered what went through the woman’s head.

Getting so close to a battle like that.

To do what?

He looked at her as these thoughts went through his head.

She blushed, her hands on the table fidgeted.

"I wish I could be as brave as you."

Her ears became even redder, she looked down.

Staring at the table.

He turned to Mia.

"You said more than two years has passed since the legacy."

She nodded.

Neo considered that fact.

He made some calculations.

It had been three years since he was booted to the mortal world.

And now, he had broken the limit.

It might seem a bit slow compared to the standard of the Immortal World.

But he no longer held himself to that standard.

He was in a unique class of his own.

They were in a tavern in some out of the way town.

They weren’t the only one.

The other adventurers were also there.

Neo and the team had been invited by the man who led the group.

Neo knew the man.

He had been surprised when he saw him.

It was Kotil, the man who had led the bloodline bearers into the special domain, which turned out to be the legacy of the Ancient Supreme.

He had broken the limit, and he seemed to have done so for a while now.

The man had been very cautious before Neo.

Neo knew that the man recognized him as the one who inherited the legacy.

And he had also seen Neo’s prowess.

Even though Neo technically stole his merit points, the man remained respectful.

And somewhat grateful.

Neo had saved his life, after all.

The saving of a man’s life did trump some merit points.

And Neo really couldn’t be blamed.

The moment he saw the strange creatures, his reaction had been instinctive.

He had simply cut them so many times that nothing was left.

At that moment, he had felt what it meant to break the limit.

Cutting thay many times while barely moving.

All he did was blink, and they were gone.

Not one of them had survived.

"Neo."

Sofia’s voice was soft.

He turned from his thoughts, and looked at her.

He waited for her to continue her words.

She breathed deeply.

"How did you get out of the legacy?"

Neo knew she wasn’t the only one curious about this.

The other three people at the table also had their ears perked up.

They waited for him to satisfy their curiosity.

"I was teleported away by the Immortal."

There was no need to tell them that it was a supreme.

A supreme was still an immortal, after all.

He had caught their attention now.

"Did you go to the Immortal World?"

Sofia was really interested now.

Neo wanted to shake his head.

But he thought better.

"Something like that."

Sofia looked at him, hoping that he continued.

"The place I was in, all I did was train under the immortal. There was no way for me to see much of the Immortal World."

"But you went to the Immortal World."

Sofia was focused on this point.

"I guess you could say so."

"How was it there? Is it better than here? I heard the essence concentration of the Immortal World is greater than ours here. Is that true?"

Neo felt the essence concentration of the mortal world, it had become far better than before he left.

"We are almost getting there."

Mia gave him a look.

She knew the same as him that was a lie.

The essence concentration might be increasing, but it was nowhere near.

Not even close.

"It’s a pity you couldn’t get to see much of the Immortal World."

Sofia shook her head.

"There is nothing much to pity. I got what I needed."

Neo didn’t want her thinking nonsense.

"That’s true."

Sofia sighed.

"Why are you feeling down?"

Neo asked her.

He decided to cheer her up.

"With your current strength, you could probably punch me into meat paste."

Sofia laughed at his silly joke.

The mood at the table became less subdued.

"How does it feel to break the limit, Neo."

Neo looked at the ceiling.

"I am just figuring it out too. But I feel like I am a different being."

Sofia blinked.

"Can you fly now?"

"What? No, of course not."

Neo almost burst into laughter.

He was not at that level yet.

That wasnt a matter of breaking the limit, it was something tightly linked to rank.

"I can’t fly. But my strength has become even more concentrated. I can do everything even more effectively. Apart from becoming stronger, that is what I can say about it."

"Like what you did with those strange creatures? How did you even do that? Was it because you have become stronger?"

Sofia did have a lot of questions for him.

Neo didn’t mind.

"I used a combination of different moves at once. It might have looked simple, but that was a combo of more than fifteen moves."

Fifteen moves?

All in the span of a blink.

How was that even possible?

Sofia’s mouth opened wide.

"Is that even something a human can do?"

"Well, the immortal’s training did work some wonders, but it is something a human can do."

Neo had shocked everyone enough.

"How I wish I could break the limit."

She rubbed her forehead, as she stared at Neo’s.

Everyone at the table except Neo shared her feeling.

Neo didn’t say anything this time.

"Can I join you all?"

A voice broke the somber mood at the table.

It was Kotil.

He had dragged a chair to their table.

Mia’s eyes turned to Neo first.

But he didn’t say anything.

"Of course, you are welcome."

The man was their benefactor, after all.

Without him, they would have suffocated to death first.

There would be no way for them to sit with Neo right now.
