Chapter 118: 118 | Blood God Possession

"KA-BOOOOM!"

A massive shockwave exploded again as the two separated. But they transformed into lines again and began battling against each other like a kid using two crayons to draw roughly draw lines on a white sheet of paper.

Divine authority against demonic fury. Two figures, one violet and one crimson, moving at speeds that turned them into streaks of colored light, crashing together with impacts that sent shockwaves rippling across the forest.

Each collision produced a bang like a cannon shot. Each cannon shot reshaped the terrain. Trees toppled. Boulders split. The earth cratered and fractured, the forest itself recoiling from the violence of the exchange.

Jasmine, Lucy, and Michael could not follow the fight. Their eyes were not fast enough. All they could see were the afterimages, the streaks of purple and crimson that painted the air like brushstrokes on a canvas, and the explosions that marked each point of contact.

The sound was continuous, a rolling thunder that never stopped, each bang overlapping with the next until it became a single, unbroken roar.

And Andrew was keeping up.

Not just keeping up. Matching him. Strength for strength. Speed for speed. Strike for strike. Every blow Gerald threw, Andrew countered. Every opening Gerald created, Andrew exploited. Every technique Gerald activated, Andrew found a way around.

Gerald’s face twisted. Something that barely looked human anymore. The blood veins on his skin pulsed faster, the crimson glow intensifying, but the expression beneath was not confidence. It was disbelief.

He couldn’t believe it. He, a Level 35 assassin, a man who had killed hundreds of opponents, who had never met his equal in the field, who had been forged in blood and battle and survival.

And this boy, this child, this Level 10 nobody who should have been beneath his notice, was matching him.

Moreover, Andrew was also suppressing him genetically and also physically.

Which limited him to perhaps 80 percent of his full capacity at best. He was fighting at reduced strength, and even at reduced strength, he should have been winning.

But it wasn’t over. And it wasn’t getting better.

The exchanges mounted. Twenty clashes. Fifty. A hundred.

"BOOOM!"

Gerald’s face darkened with each one.

Because Andrew was not just keeping up. He was growing stronger. Every collision, every exchange, every moment of combat, the boy’s power was rising.

The purple lightning that wreathed his body grew brighter with each exchange. The force behind his claws grew heavier. His speed grew sharper, more precise, more impossible.

After the fiftieth clash, Andrew was matching Gerald blow for blow. The assassin would strike, and Andrew would counter with equal force, the impact producing a symmetric shockwave that sent both of them skidding backward.

After the eightieth clash, Andrew actually started to push Gerald back.

The assassin’s blocks came later, his counters slower, his footing less stable. He was being driven backward, step by step, toward the edge of the clearing.

After the hundredth clash, Andrew was suppressing him.

"BOOM!"

Gerald was sent flying backwards in a single claw strike.

His hands was trembling and Gerald’s eyes went wide with dawning horror.

If he didn’t end this now, right now, he might actually be suppressed and maybe even killed!

He gritted his teeth so hard his molars cracked.

A line of blood appeared at the corner of his mouth, and he didn’t know if it was from the cracked teeth or from something internal rupturing from Andrew’s attacks.

There was only one option left.

"You forced me to do this!

"Blood God Possession."

"Weng! "Weng!" "Weng!"

"BOOM!"

Gerald was sent flying backward by a single claw strike.

His arms trembled violently as he slid across the shattered ground, carving a trench dozens of meters long before finally coming to a stop.

His eyes widened with dawning horror.

If he didn’t end this now—right now—he might actually be suppressed.

Maybe even killed.

He gritted his teeth so hard his molars cracked.

A line of blood trickled down the corner of his mouth, and he didn’t know whether it came from his shattered teeth or from something inside rupturing under Andrew’s monstrous attacks.

There was only one option left.

"You forced me to do this!"

"Blood God Possession!"

"WENG!" "WENG!" "WENG!"

A crimson light exploded from Gerald’s body.

The blood staining his lips, his clothes, and even the battlefield suddenly rose into the air as if pulled by an invisible force.

Pools of blood evaporated.

Countless streams of scarlet energy converged toward him like rivers flowing into the sea.

"RUMBLE!"

The sky turned red.

A gigantic blood-colored magic circle spread beneath his feet, covering hundreds of meters.

An ancient and malevolent aura descended upon the battlefield.

The smell of blood became suffocating.

Gerald threw back his head and roared.

"AAAAAAAAARRRGH!"

His muscles swelled violently.

Scarlet veins bulged across his skin like writhing serpents.

His eyes transformed into pools of blood-red light.

Two jagged horns erupted from his forehead.

His fingernails lengthened into razor-sharp claws.

Behind him, a gigantic phantom slowly materialized.

A towering figure clad in crimson armor.

Its eyes burned like twin suns.

Its body radiated endless slaughter and destruction.

The Blood God.

As the phantom descended, it merged directly into Gerald’s body.

"BOOOOOOOOM!"

A pillar of blood-red energy shot into the heavens.

The shockwave flattened everything within hundreds of meters.

Even the clouds above were torn apart.

Gerald slowly lifted his head.

His injuries were healing at a visible rate.

His shattered bones reformed.

His bleeding stopped.

The aura surrounding him climbed higher and higher.

Rank after rank shattered as he leveles up from 35 all the way to level 49

Power surged through every inch of his body.

He looked toward the colossal Chaos Thunder Dragon God towering in the distance.

The fear in his eyes had vanished.

In its place remained only madness.

Only killing intent.

Only rage.

A savage grin spread across his face.

"Now we’re finally fighting on equal footing."

The gigantic dragon stared at him silently.

Then Andrew’s deep draconic voice echoed across the battlefield.

"Equal footing?"

Violet lightning exploded across the sky.

The dragon’s eyes glowed brighter.

"You misunderstand something, Gerald."

"Until now..."

"I wasn’t fighting seriously."
