Chapter 107: 107 | Encounter With The Blood Scythe

John’s first ruptured the barrier but didn’t stop as it collided into Klen’s wounded belly.

"Bang!"

Klen was sent flying and he collided against a boulder. His already healing belly by the potion he drank tore open again and started to close as the potion took effect.

He stood up but before he could move, the others attacked at him also at same time.

"I still can’t believe you actually wanted to kill me."

Jasmine gritted her teeth and roared as she leapt upwards like her feet was made of rubber and then descended like a falling meteor.

Lucy’s expression was frosty as she attacked from Klen’s blind spot. Michael didn’t care and simply charged towards him like a berserk rhino with rage bloodline in him.

Seeing all of this, Klen’s face changed and he gritted his teeth as his eyes darted around in panic.

There was no way to escape from the four of them and there was no doubt in his mind that they would definitely kill him. He would do the same too if he was poisoned by one of them.

He bit his lips hard as he thought of a solution. Suddenly, his eyes glowed crimson and the blue thunder surging around his body turned crimson.

He had no choice but to use the forbidden spell once more!

"Blood Lightning Escape!"

Every activation requires 10 years of his life. This was the 8th time he had activated it to escape danger. If he doesn’t breakthrough to become a Silver Ultra, he would definitely die in the next two activation.

"RUMBLE!"

Destructive energy filled his entire being and the lightning around his body turned blood red.

"Cra-thum!"

His body dissolved into crimson lightning soaring through the horizon.

"You think you can escape me?!" John roared.

Lightning exploded around his body as his Bloodline skill activated.

His entire body transformed into a streak of purple lightning that shot across the battlefield at unbelievable speed.

Before Klen could go very far, John had crossed the distance of half a kilometer in a second as he crashed directly into him.

"Bang!"

Klen was sent flying violently, bounding in the ground like a kicked soccer ball.

The five of them surrounded Klen immediately as they forced him onto the ground.

John planted a foot firmly against Klen’s chest. His expression was filled with disappointment, anger and sadness.

"Why the hell did you do this Klen?"

"If you truly needed money, you only had to ask. We’re teammates. We would have found a way to help you."

Klen laughed bitterly. Then, after several moments of silence, he finally spoke. "How... How was I supposed to tell all of you that I needed five hundred million dollars to save my little sister’s life?"

The squad remained silent but John merely sneered. "Five hundred million?" He looked down at Klen with cold eyes. "You expect us to believe that? You think a sob story will earn our sympathy?"

Klen remained silent.

John continued mercilessly. "Before assigning anyone to my squad, the Guild Leader personally investigated every single member. He sent me everyone’s background."

His eyes narrowed. "You probably thought I knew nothing about you. But I know your history. What you did to join the guild. I thought you might do the same to us and I watched you carefully for years. But after 5 years, you made no move, you never betrayed us. So eventually, I convinced myself that I’d misjudged you, you’ve changed."

John slowly clenched his fists. "I was wrong." His voice became ice-cold. "You don’t have a younger sister. You don’t have a mother. You’re an orphan. So stop lying. Stop feeding us this pathetic bullshit."

Just then, Klen suddenly burst into a villainous laughter.

---

Just then, Klen suddenly burst into laughter.

John frowned. "What the hell are you laughing at?"

The others also furrowed their brows but Andrews’s face was indifferent. Of course he knew what Klen was laughing about.

On the ground, barely injured and battered, Klen’s smile only widened. "Aren’t you all going to come out now?"

The faces of the Devil Rage Team changed dramatically as they tensed and raised their weapons to the surroundings.

But there was silence throughout the entire forest.

Jasmine gaze hardened and she immediately kicked him. "Stop trying to scare us you bastard."

"Clap!"

"Clap!"

"Clap!"

A slow but loud mocking applause echoed through the forest.

"Hahaha. What an entertaining show."

Everyone’s expressions changed as seven figures emerged slowly from between the towering trees. They walked with unhurried steps and stopped about a hundred meters away. The atmosphere grew heavy at once.

John’s face darkened the moment he recognized the man leading them. Gerald. The infamous Bloodscythe.

His reputation was known throughout all of Maryland. His weapon of choice was a massive crimson scythe. His favorite pastime was killing. Monster or human, it made little difference to him. Many believed he secretly worked as an assassin for the Crimson Family, but no evidence had ever been found. Without proof, even the authorities could not touch him.

John slowly clenched his fists. Why is he here?

His eyes swept across the six people standing behind Gerald. His heart sank. This was not just Gerald. It was his entire squad. Their guild had crossed paths with Gerald’s team several times before. None of those encounters had ended well. The gap in strength was simply too large. Gerald was a Level 35 Silver Rank Ultra. John himself was only Level 32.

To make matters worse, Gerald had a mysterious B rank assassination talent. No one knew exactly what his ability was. All they knew was that people died before they even realized he had attacked.

A cold silence settled over both groups and only the sound of the wind could be heard bellowing through the forest trees.

Seeing the other group, Klen’s eyes lit up with joy. He was finally saved.

He scrambled to his feet and rushed toward Gerald. "Gerald! You came! Help me kill them! I was the one who contacted you!"

Gerald did not even look at him. His crimson eyes stayed fixed on John. Only after several seconds did he casually glance toward Klen.

His expression was calm, cold and entirely indifferent.

"We’re already here. So your usefulness has ended."

Klen’s smile froze. "What?"
