SSS-Rank Awakening: My Talent Multiplies Everything

Chapter 314: More Than Meets The Eye.

Several seconds passed as Kael continued supplying Earth Energy to the Spectre X Nano Armor, watching with growing curiosity as the suit absorbed everything he fed into it.

The rate of absorption was surprisingly impressive. No matter how much energy he channeled in, the armor kept drawing it in without any sign of reaching its limit.

Yet despite the sheer amount of energy it was consuming, Kael still couldn’t detect any obvious changes. Its appearance remained the same, and he noticed no clear increase in its defensive capabilities, at least, not that he could immediately perceive.

Just what exactly is this energy being used for?

Kael furrowed his brows.

He was beginning to wonder whether the armor needed to absorb a certain amount of Earth Energy before the new features activated. But just as that thought crossed his mind, he finally noticed something unusual.

"Hm?"

Kael lowered his gaze toward his right arm. At first, the change was so subtle he almost missed it, the black nano-particles covering his forearm seemed to be shifting slightly differently from before.

Normally, the particles maintained a stable arrangement, forming the smooth, protective surface of the armor.

But now, there seemed to be more of them.

Kael narrowed his eyes.

Wait a minute...

He focused on the movement of the particles, observing them more closely. A moment later, it clicked.

The nano-particles were multiplying.

It wasn’t particularly dramatic at first, just a few additional particles appearing among the existing ones, merging seamlessly into the armor’s structure.

Then a few more followed. As Kael continued supplying Earth Energy, the process gradually accelerated, more and more particles appearing across the suit, steadily increasing its total volume.

The armor’s surface began to shift as the newly formed particles accumulated, forming faint ripples across the black plating.

Kael watched the process with a puzzled expression.

This certainly wasn’t what he had expected.

When Evelyn mentioned that the Spectre Guild had discovered a high degree of compatibility between Earth Energy and the armor’s materials, Kael had assumed the upgrades would involve improving its strength or defensive capabilities.

Perhaps the armor would become tougher when infused with Earth Energy.

Or maybe it would develop some kind of special protective function.

But multiplying its nano-particles? That was a rather unexpected result.

Before he could examine the phenomenon further, a delighted voice rang out nearby. "It worked!"

Kael turned his head.

Evelyn, who had been observing the entire process from a short distance away, was staring at his armor with an excited expression.

Her eyes practically shone as she watched the additional nano-particles accumulate.

"It actually worked!"

Kael blinked.

"It did?"

"Yes!"

Evelyn nodded enthusiastically.

"Exactly as we hoped!"

Kael looked down at his armor again, then glanced back at her.

"...I see."

His response, however, didn’t sound particularly impressed, and honestly, he wasn’t.

The ability to generate additional nano-particles was certainly interesting, but he wasn’t entirely sure what made it so extraordinary.

After all, the armor was already capable of covering his entire body.

Having a little more material didn’t seem particularly useful unless it could provide some additional benefit.

And considering how excited Evelyn had been about the upgrade, he had expected something a little more impressive.

Evelyn seemed to notice his lack of enthusiasm.

She studied his expression for a moment before raising an eyebrow.

"Mr. Kael, you don’t seem particularly happy with the results."

Kael hesitated briefly.

Then he shrugged.

"Well, no offense, but..."

He glanced at the armor covering his body.

"It’s a little underwhelming compared to what I was expecting."

Evelyn blinked.

"Underwhelming?"

"Yeah."

Kael raised his armored hand slightly.

"I mean, it’s definitely interesting that the nano-particles can multiply, but I’m not really seeing how that makes the armor significantly better."

He paused.

"Unless there’s something I’m missing."

For a moment, Evelyn simply stared at him. Then a smile slowly spread across her face.

"Ah, I see."

She nodded in understanding.

"Well, I suppose that’s a reasonable reaction if you’re only looking at the multiplication itself."

Kael raised an eyebrow.

"Only the multiplication?"

"Exactly."

Evelyn stepped closer, her expression becoming more animated.

"You see, Mr. Kael, the truly important part of this upgrade isn’t simply that the nano-particles can multiply."

She gestured toward his armor. "It’s what you can do with those additional particles that makes this feature valuable."

Kael paused. "What I can do with them?"

"That’s right." Evelyn nodded, then continued explaining. "When we first began developing the Nano Bracelet technology, one of the biggest challenges we encountered was figuring out how to make the system practical."

Kael listened quietly.

"As you know, the entire concept revolves around storing an enormous number of nano-particles within a compact device and allowing those particles to assemble into protective equipment whenever the user needs them."

She gestured toward the bracelet beneath the armor.

"The problem is that there’s a limit to how many nano-particles we can actually store inside something that small."

Kael nodded slightly.

That much was understandable.

Even with advanced technology, there had to be limitations to how much material could be compressed into such a compact structure.

Evelyn continued.

"Of course, we could increase the number of particles by making the storage device larger. But doing that would create an entirely different problem."

She spread her hands.

"The bracelet would become bulkier, heavier, and much less convenient to wear."

"And that would defeat the whole purpose of creating a Nano Bracelet in the first place," Kael said.

"Exactly!"

Evelyn smiled.

"The entire advantage of this technology is that Hunters can carry a complete set of armor without having to wear it constantly or store it in a separate space."

She continued, "If we made the bracelet too large just to accommodate more material, we’d be sacrificing one of its most important features."

Kael nodded.

He was beginning to understand where she was going with this.

"Because of that limitation," Evelyn explained, "we had to carefully calculate the amount of material required to form a complete set of armor."

She pointed toward his suit.

"The Spectre X Nano Armor was designed around that calculation. The bracelet contains just enough nano-particles to assemble into its predetermined full-body configuration, but not enough to support a wider range of additional structures. That’s why the current model can only transform into a single primary configuration. A complete set of armor."

Kael looked down at his body again.

This time, his expression was noticeably different, he was beginning to understand what she meant. A familiar memory suddenly surfaced in his mind.

The Spectre X series.

More specifically, the versions of the Nano Armor he had seen during his previous life.

Back then, Kael had been nothing more than a struggling Hunter.

He hadn’t possessed the wealth or influence required to purchase high-end equipment, and something as expensive as the Spectre X Nano Armor had been far beyond his reach.

However, that didn’t mean he was unfamiliar with it.

He had seen the armor in action on several occasions.

And the impression it had left on him had been unforgettable.

Unlike ordinary armor, the Spectre X series he remembered from his previous life possessed an extraordinary degree of flexibility.

Its nano-particles could rearrange themselves into numerous configurations, allowing the wearer to modify the armor according to their needs.

The suit could reinforce certain sections of the body, alter its structure, and even produce weapons directly from its own material.

All while continuing to function as protective armor.

It was an incredibly versatile piece of equipment.

And that versatility was precisely what had made Kael admire it so much.
