Chapter 305: End Of The Party(GT Bonus Chapter.)

Kael raised an eyebrow.

"Someone like me?"

"Yes. Someone whose strength is so far beyond what most people would expect from a Hunter of your age."

Jonas shook his head slightly.

"Kael, whether you realize it or not, you’re a rather troublesome variable. If you were to participate openly, there’s a good chance the other Safe Zones would immediately recognize you as a serious threat."

He paused before continuing.

"And considering how strong you’ve become, your participation could practically guarantee victory for whichever Safe Zone you’re representing."

Kael listened quietly.

"Now, do you honestly think the others would simply sit back and allow that to happen?"

Jonas gave him a meaningful look.

"Of course not. They’d do everything they could to prevent you from participating. They might question your eligibility, look for loopholes in the tournament rules, or come up with some other excuse to have you disqualified before the competition even begins."

Kael fell into thought.

What Jonas was saying made sense.

After all, the tournament involved something valuable enough that the various Safe Zones were willing to compete fiercely over it.

If one side suddenly possessed a participant who could almost guarantee their victory, the others certainly wouldn’t be happy about it.

And since they couldn’t necessarily defeat that participant directly, the most reasonable option would be to prevent him from competing in the first place.

Even if they couldn’t stop him completely, they could still create enough trouble to complicate matters.

Besides, Kael could understand their perspective.

It wouldn’t exactly be much of a competition if one side already had a guaranteed winner before the tournament even started.

After considering it for a moment, he nodded.

"Well, that won’t be a problem for me."

Jonas looked pleased.

"Really?"

"Yeah. I don’t particularly care what identity I use to participate."

And Kael meant it.

Whether he entered the tournament as Kael Voss or under some completely different identity made little difference to him.

He wasn’t participating for fame or recognition, so there was no reason for him to insist on using his real name.

As long as the arrangement didn’t interfere with his own plans, he had no objections.

Hearing his response, Jonas smiled.

"Good. That makes things much easier."

He nodded in satisfaction before glancing toward the door.

"Well, I suppose that’s everything I came to discuss today."

With that, he began preparing to stand.

However, just as he was about to rise from his chair, he suddenly seemed to remember something.

"Oh, right. Before I forget."

Kael looked at him.

"There’s one more thing you should know."

Jonas’s expression became slightly more serious.

"With the tournament drawing so close, the Association has been forced to speed up several matters that have been pending for a while."

He paused.

"That includes the investigation concerning the Dark Viper Guild."

Kael’s eyes narrowed slightly.

"The investigation?"

"Yes. The evidence you submitted has been undergoing review, but we can’t afford to leave the matter unresolved for much longer, especially with the tournament approaching."

Jonas continued, "So the Association has decided to expedite the remaining procedures. You should expect to receive an official summons very soon."

Kael nodded slowly.

"And that will be for the final verdict?"

"That’s right."

Jonas gave him a reassuring smile.

"Just be prepared when the summons arrives."

"Understood."

"Good."

With that, Jonas finally stood up.

Kael rose from his seat as well and accompanied him toward the door.

After exchanging a few final words, the Vice President took his leave, bringing their rather unexpected meeting to an end.

Kael watched him depart before returning to his study.

He sat back down again, allowing himself a moment to think through everything they’d discussed.

Quite a few things had come up for what was supposed to be a simple housewarming party.

Fortunately, none of them needed his immediate attention. At least, not tonight.

Kael stayed seated for a little while longer before finally letting out a sigh.

"Well, I guess that’s that."

He stood up and headed toward the door.

It was time to return to the party.

---

By the time Kael made his way downstairs, the housewarming party was already approaching its final stage.

The atmosphere was still lively, but it was noticeably calmer than before.

Some of the guests had already begun preparing to leave, while others were exchanging their final conversations before heading home.

As soon as Kael returned to the living room, several people approached him to say goodbye.

"Thanks for inviting us, Kael. We had a great time."

"Congratulations on the new house!"

"You should definitely host something like this again sometime."

Kael smiled and responded to each of them, thanking them for coming and wishing them a safe journey home.

However, he couldn’t help noticing something rather amusing.

Almost everyone who approached him seemed to have a question they wanted to ask.

And judging from the curious looks on their faces, Kael had a pretty good idea what that question was.

Vice President Jonas.

Even though the man had already left, his unexpected appearance was clearly still on everyone’s mind.

Some of the guests glanced at Kael as though waiting for him to explain how he had become acquainted with such an influential figure.

Others seemed to be struggling to find a polite way to bring up the subject.

Unfortunately for them, Kael had no intention of satisfying their curiosity.

He simply continued exchanging pleasantries, pretending not to notice their questioning expressions.

After all, he didn’t see any reason to explain his relationship with Jonas to everyone who happened to be curious about it.

And fortunately, nobody was bold enough to press him for an answer.

Time passed, and the crowd thinned bit by bit, group after group slipping out until only a handful of guests remained, and even they were already gathering their things to leave. Before long, the once-lively house had gone quiet.

Kael stood in the living room, surveying the aftermath.

"..."

Dirty dishes littered the tables, empty cups and bottles sat abandoned in every corner, and trash seemed to cover practically every surface he looked at.

The house that had looked so neat and beautiful earlier in the day was now in a rather sorry state.

Kael couldn’t help sighing.

"What a mess."

He looked around once more.

Cleaning everything up was certainly going to require some effort.

And considering how much work had gone into preparing for the party in the first place, the thought of having to deal with all of this afterward wasn’t particularly appealing.

Still, someone had to do it.
