Chapter 49: The Wrong Enemy!

The killing intent that had been suppressed deep within Aiden’s heart slowly began to stir.

He had originally intended to deal with the Dragon Sovereign Guild according to his plans, dismantling them piece by piece and making them experience despair before their eventual destruction.

But now... Why bother looking for them when they had willingly walked into his path?

Aiden’s smile grew slightly wider. "How thoughtful."

Unfortunately, Commander Garrett Kaine interpreted that smile as nothing more than ridicule.

His expression immediately darkened. He stepped forward until he was almost pressing his face against Aiden’s, his booming voice carrying across the entire area.

"Kid! Don’t throw our Guildmaster’s goodwill back in our faces!"

"My Guildmaster thinking highly of you is your good fortune! Come back with me obediently, apologize to our Guildmaster, accept that damn Vice-Leader position, and you can enjoy the good life with our Dragon Sovereign Guild from now on!"

He paused before his expression twisted into a threatening grin.

"Otherwise..." Garrett raised his enormous fist, nearly the size of a clay pot, and shook it threateningly.

A violent aura belonging to his Class A Class, [Warcry], faintly radiated from his body, carrying an oppressive force that made the surrounding air seem to grow heavier.

"You can forget about passing through this dungeon entrance today!"

His grin widened.

"And not just today. From now on, I’ll make sure you can’t take a single step in Ashford City!"

The surrounding people had all been drawn by the commotion, stopping to watch as whispers spread through the crowd.

"It’s people from the Dragon Sovereign Guild! Is that Commander Garrett Kaine? I heard he’s incredibly fierce!"

"They’re actually blocking Reaper? Now this is going to be a good show!"

"Though Boss Reaper is strong, the other side has numbers on their side..."

"Isn’t Commander Garrett Kaine being way too overbearing?"

Faced with Commander Garrett Kaine’s blatant threats and blockade, Aiden Cross suddenly smiled.

It was a faint smile, but the mockery contained within it made Garrett Kaine extremely uncomfortable.

"Otherwise what?" Aiden tilted his head slightly, his tone carrying a hint of amusement. "Just based on you bunch of... useless rabble?"

"You’re fucking asking for death!" Commander Garrett Kaine was completely enraged.

With a furious roar, a bloody light flashed across his body as his Warcry Class activated, instantly boosting his strength and attack speed!

He swung the heavy two-handed battleaxe in his hands, bringing it crashing down toward Aiden’s head with a piercing howl of wind.

He actually made his move without the slightest hesitation!

The strike was incredibly heavy and powerful. If it landed cleanly, even with Aiden’s current defense, it would undoubtedly be painful.

However...Aiden seemed to have anticipated the attack long ago.

Just as the battleaxe was about to cleave into his head, his feet seemed to glide effortlessly across the ground. He shifted lightly to the side, dodging the descending axe blade by a mere hair’s breadth.

At the same time, a thought flashed through his mind.

[Root Entanglement]!

The ground beneath Garrett’s feet suddenly cracked. Dark-green roots erupted from the earth, instantly wrapping around his legs and climbing upward!

Although Garrett’s immense strength allowed him to break free almost immediately, leaving him immobilized for less than a second...

That was already enough. Stopping the casual glide through the ground with Adhesive Dominion, Aiden’s figure blurred.

He closed the distance like a ghost, his right fist clad in the Power Gauntlets. The immense strength boost from Titan Strength combined with the explosive force of the condensed kinetic energy of Kinetic Smash erupted simultaneously.

But instead of targeting Garrett’s leather-armored torso, Aiden’s fist shot toward the wrist of his right hand, the hand gripping the battleaxe.

"Ugh!" A sharp burst of pain shot through Garrett’s wrist.

His fingers nearly lost their grip on the battleaxe, and his attacking motion instantly became distorted, throwing his entire body off balance.

Aiden retreated immediately after landing the blow, refusing to engage in a direct exchange.

Relying on his vastly superior agility and precise anticipation, he began circling Garrett like a predator toying with its prey.

Garrett roared repeatedly, swinging his battleaxe wildly.

Yet he couldn’t even touch the hem of Aiden’s clothes. Every time Garrett thought he was finally about to land a hit, Aiden would slip away at an impossible angle, effortlessly avoiding the attack at the last possible moment.

Occasionally, Aiden would use [Root Entanglement] to disrupt his movements or suddenly strike his arms, wrists, knees, and other joints.

None of the individual attacks dealt particularly high damage.

But the accumulated effect was enough to leave Garrett battered, frustrated, and, more importantly, utterly humiliated.

"You bastard! Don’t fucking run if you have the guts! Fight me head-on!" Garrett screamed furiously.

Seeing this, the subordinates he had brought with him finally couldn’t stand by any longer. They stepped forward, attempting to surround Aiden and overwhelm him through sheer numbers.

Aiden’s eyes turned cold. His figure suddenly stopped.

Instead of dodging another one of Garrett’s heavy slashes, he deliberately turned his body and allowed the battleaxe to crash against the shoulder of his [Tough Combat Suit].

A chunk of his HP disappeared.

But Aiden didn’t even flinch. He used the momentum of the impact to launch himself forward.

His body shot toward one of the mage players who was hurriedly attempting to cast [Fireball].

[Charged Strike]!

Brilliant blue light erupted from the [Power Gauntlets] as condensed kinetic energy exploded forward.

-121!

The mage had never expected Aiden to suddenly switch targets at such terrifying speed.

The mana shield surrounding his body shattered like glass.

Before he could even react, the fist had already struck his chest.

With a horrified scream, his body disintegrated into a burst of white light and vanished, returning to the respawn point.

’Fuck do they have the one time revive coin?!’

Despite that, Aiden didn’t stop for even a second.

[Root Entanglement]!

Dark-green roots erupted once again, instantly wrapping around another warrior who was charging toward him.

The warrior struggled desperately, but before he could break free, Aiden was already upon him.

His fists and feet moved like a storm.

Punch!

Kick!

Elbow!

Knee!

Every strike was aimed at vulnerable joints and openings in their defenses. All boosted by Titan Strength.
