SSS Awakening: Rebirth of the Strongest Vampire God
Chapter 792: Unexpected chaos. What is going on with the world?
Without hesitation, Damon thrust his hand forward. His poison blood domain erupted. His primordial mana core roared. His dao core spun at its absolute limit. Every ounce of power he possessed flooded into a single attack.
A blood spear appeared. Air twisted around it. It burned with pure destructive power. Cracks spread through the surrounding space. The spear had not even been thrown yet, and reality was already struggling to contain it.
This was Damon pouring everything he possessed into a single strike. Every insight, every drop of mana, every fragment of Dao comprehension, everything. He went all out.
Damon gritted his teeth. Blood trickled from the corners of his mouth. His body was already beginning to tear apart from the strain, but he did not stop, not when facing the strongest opponent he had ever encountered.
"Take this!" The spear shot forward.
The instant it left Damon’s hand, it pierced through space itself, appearing directly before the old man like a crimson judgment descending from heaven.
The world exploded.
A deafening roar shook the battlefield as everything between the spear and its target ceased to exist, leaving behind a massive scar through reality that stretched all the way across the horizon.
However, even this much power was unable to shake the old man. He simply harrumphed, and the next second a silver barrier sprang up. The spear was blocked with ease.
Damon’s strongest attack was stopped dead in its tracks. The blood spear howled. The surrounding space shattered. The destructive force contained within it erupted wildly, attempting to drill through the barrier. But it couldn’t advance even a single inch. It was completely defeated.
Even so... Damon bought himself the fraction of a second that was required for his teleportation skill to finish smoothly. The world around him darkened, and he felt the familiar twist and pull of teleportation.
However, at the very last moment, a face appeared in front of him. It was the old man’s face, and he was smiling. "Do you really think that you could get away from me so easily, brat? Run. Run. Run. But you can never run away from me!"
Damon appeared inside his castle in the middle of the ocean. The familiar sensation of solid ground beneath his feet should have brought relief, but it didn’t. His breathing was ragged. Cold sweat covered his back.
"Did that guy leave a mark or something on me?" Damon quickly began to scan himself for anything unusual. He took a few good minutes, but he did not find anything. "Little red, did you find anything?"
"Nothing, my liege. As far as I can tell, it is simply impossible for that guy to have left any mark."
"Hmmm..." Damon nodded, but he wasn’t convinced just yet. "La Rocha, come out here."
The familiar dashing green-haired figure appeared. "You called for me, master." The guy answered with his usual mocking voice.
Damon ignored the asshole’s taunts. He was just about to ask him if there was any tracer on him when suddenly his face changed. "Abyssal energy? On earth?"
La Rocha grinned. "Oh, did I not tell you about that yet? Your world is fucked. It happened a week ago. A node of abyss popped up out of nowhere. And then of course, chaos ensued. See for yourself."
Damon instantly flooded the world with his primordial senses. La Rocha was not lying. The moment his senses spread beyond the castle walls, Damon felt it. ⅇ𝒃𝚗ℴ
Abyssal energy was everywhere. It was dense, violent, and corrupt. It stained the world like an ugly wound. His expression darkened.
The ocean around his castle was still relatively clean, but farther away, dark patches had begun appearing beneath the waves. The water itself seemed sick. Schools of fish swam in chaotic patterns. Strange mutations lurked in the depths.
And that was merely the ocean.
When his senses reached the continents, the situation became much worse. Almost the whole world was seeped with abyssal energy. There were traces of tainted energy everywhere, and it was already affecting the flora and fauna. The entire world was a single leap from completely becoming one of the corrupted abyssal worlds.
"Ah. Don’t keep your face like that, my Lord." La Rocha clicked his tongue. It might look completely hopeless, but you still have decades to save your world. "If you find the right ingredients, you can completely purify your world. Not to mention you have your own angel."
La Rocha then abruptly stopped talking. Damon also froze. At that exact moment, the node of abyssal energy pulsed.
"Hmmmm? This is interesting. I thought you had decades, but from the looks of it, you merely have days before this whole thing blows up. I wonder what changed..." La Rocha rubbed his chin while staring at Damon and enjoying the situation.
"Say... what are you going to do now... MASTER. Are you going to put your entire world population inside your soul sea?" La Rocha grinned. "Alas... MASTER... something like that would be difficult for even someone like you."
"You must be feeling really bad right about now, huh... a mere mortal to a B rank in a matter of months. An accomplishment like this is pretty much impossible in this vast cosmos, and yet you, my MASTER, managed to do it.
La Rocha’s grin widened. "Tell me, how does it feel? To finally realize that your greatest achievement may very well become your world’s greatest disaster?"
Damon remained silent. His Primordial Senses were still spread across the planet. He could feel everything. All of the fear, the panic and the confusion. The animals that were only slowly mutating just seconds ago were now showing signs of rapid mutation.
Several people screamed as their beloved pets suddenly turned against them. Dogs that had loyally guarded homes for years lunged at their owners with bloodshot eyes. Cats transformed into agile nightmares that ripped through walls and flesh alike. Birds grew razor-sharp feathers and descended upon crowded streets in murderous flocks.
The worst part was that none of it happened gradually. There was no warning. There was no chance to prepare. Families were torn apart within seconds. Parents died protecting children. Children died protecting parents. Entire neighborhoods descended into chaos.
Damon watched everything.
A little girl desperately hugged a golden retriever that had slept beside her every night since she was born. The next moment the dog’s body swelled to twice its size. Its bones snapped and its jaw split apart. And then, it bit and chewed the little girl’s head.
Damon’s fists clenched.
Elsewhere, a farmer tried to calm his livestock. Moments later, dozens of mutated cattle trampled him into the ground.
A police officer emptied an entire magazine into a creature that had once been a household cat. The bullets barely slowed it down.
Across the globe, similar scenes unfolded endlessly.
The abyssal pulse had accelerated everything. The world was breaking and it was breaking fast. The abyssal energy was no longer merely corrupting life. It was actively transforming it as though some invisible force was trying to create an army as quickly as possible.
Then Damon felt something that made his heart sink.
The mutations had started affecting humans too. A man collapsed in the middle of a crowded street. His body convulsed violently. Black veins spread beneath his skin. Moments later, claws erupted from his fingers.
A woman screamed as her eyes turned completely black. Another person’s flesh split open and strange appendages emerged.
Not everyone was changing. Most people weren’t but enough were. There were far too many. The first abyssal monsters born from humanity had appeared and their numbers were growing every second.
In the thick of this chaos another impossible event unfolded. All of a sudden mana flooded the world and people started gaining abilities. They were not just randomly awakening, rather they were syncing with their classes and skills from the game world.
Normally, this would have been more manageable but with all the mayhem such a sudden change only added more fuel to the chaos.
People were not in full control of their classes and abilities and yet tried to be heroes to save the day. Some succeeded but many bit more than they could chew and crumbled.
Within a matter of seconds, the entire world was burning.
Governments around the world were panicking and mobilizing armies. Fighter jets filled the skies. Tanks rolled through major cities. Emergency broadcasts played continuously across every available channel.
However, Damon already knew that none of these would be enough. He had to do something. He had to do something now before its too late. Otherwise, the entire world would burn and collapse right in front of his eyes.
