SSS Awakening: Conquering Worlds with My Cupid System
Chapter 199: I Will Destroy Everyone Here!
Dealing with a primordial entity was in no way easy. Maybe because Silas had somehow subdued her, they’ve all forgotten the threat she posed on normal days. Maybe because Silas was an SSS-Rank, they’d all forgotten just who they were dealing with.
But let’s make this clear. Ranks determined the strength one possessed. That was the norm. An F-Rank would never be able to defeat an E-Rank, unless by some divine intervention, which was almost nonexistent.
Even an A-Rank would never defeat an S-Rank. That much was known everywhere. But that also didn’t mean it was always the case.
Before the ranking system came to be, there was a way people determined the strength of the awakened, and each title they gave spoke volumes about who that person was and what they were.
Echidna was given the title of the Mother of Monsters. She was also known as a primordial entity, a mythical monster with authority. She had fought demigods and gods alike.
Yes, she was an S-Rank, and that was true. But she was in no way weak... and definitely not stable... in the mind.
***
Absolute and complete silence filled the living room at Echidna’s statement. Even Silas was surprised by the kind of confidence and level of arrogance she used to say that.
Gromda stopped moving, while Alpha’s mouth fell open. Chloe slowly turned her head toward Echidna.
Silas stared at her and Echidna stared back. Her face slowly turned crimson.
"What?"
Echidna’s eyes widened as though she had only just realized what she had said aloud.
"I..." She covered her mouth. Her horns seemed to turn red from embarrassment.
"I said..."
"I heard you."
"Interesting." Chloe’s expression became colder.
Echidna immediately looked at her.
"It wasn’t directed at you."
"I know."
Alpha quietly stood up.
"I’m leaving."
Silas looked at him.
"Why?"
"I value my life."
Gromda tilted her head.
"Mate should kiss new mate."
Silas looked at Gromda.
"You aren’t helping."
"I help."
"You really don’t."
Echidna slowly lowered her hands from her face. She looked at Silas again.
"So?"
Silas stared at the Mother of Monsters. Then at Chloe, Gromda, Anna, and back at Echidna. A slow grin appeared on his face.
"You’re getting bold."
Echidna’s golden eyes narrowed.
"You said you liked interesting women."
Silas’s smile widened. "I did."
Echidna leaned slightly closer.
"Then..." She smiled. "Make this interesting."
Chloe quietly sighed.
"Here we go again."
"I can do that, but..." Silas said with a shrug.
"But what?" Echidna asked, her tone becoming low and cold.
Silas looked at her for a moment and shrugged. "But I don’t feel like it."
Echidna blinked. "What?!"
Silas leaned back into the sofa, completely relaxed.
"I don’t feel like kissing you."
Her golden eyes widened.
"You..."
Silas smiled.
"Maybe later."
"Later?"
"Maybe."
Echidna’s expression twitched. For several seconds, she just stared at him, then her smile returned. It was a strange smile. It was not the embarrassed smile from earlier, nor the curious smile she had worn while watching him. This one was dangerous.
"You’re refusing me?"
"Yep." Silas nodded.
"After what happened yesterday?"
"Yep."
"After you kissed me?"
"Yep."
Echidna’s eyebrow twitched. Silas could practically see the gears turning inside her head. Chloe noticed too, and slowly put her phone down.
"Silas."
"Hm?"
"You should probably stop."
"Why?"
"Because she’s getting angry."
Silas glanced at Echidna.
"I noticed."
Gromda’s ears flattened.
"Mate..."
Alpha was already moving toward the doorway.
"Nope."
Silas looked at him.
"Where are you going?"
"Somewhere that isn’t here."
"You’re abandoning me?"
"I am preserving my life."
Echidna’s fingers curled, her expression slowly changing. The embarrassment disappeared, and the curiosity vanished. The playful woman sitting beside Silas was gone. Something ancient looked through her golden eyes.
"Silas."
Her voice was quiet. Silas glanced at her.
"Yes?"
"Give me what I want."
"No."
The temperature of the room seemed to drop, not because of Chloe. Her ability would’ve been much better. The lights flickered, and the windows rattled. A faint vibration passed through the floor.
Chloe’s eyes narrowed.
"Echidna."
Echidna didn’t look at her. Her attention remained completely fixed on Silas.
"You are testing my patience."
Silas smiled.
"I know."
"You know?"
"Mhm."
"And you still refuse?"
"Yep."
Echidna’s breathing became heavier, and her golden eyes began glowing. Silas’s smile widened.
"Go on."
Echidna’s expression froze.
"What?"
"Try something."
The room suddenly became heavy. The enormous pressure of Echidna’s aura erupted.
BOOOOOOOOOOOM!
The entire Ashard Estate shook. Windows rattled violently, furniture slid across the floor, and the chandelier above them swung wildly.
Cracks appeared along the walls. Outside, birds exploded from the trees as an enormous flock fled into the sky. Gromda immediately stood.
"Mate..."
Alpha’s face went pale.
"Oh, shit."
Chloe’s frost instantly spread beneath her feet.
"Silas!"
Echidna stood, her hair lifting as monstrous energy surged around her. She wasn’t joking anymore. She was a primordial entity, the Mother of Monsters, and beneath that beautiful human appearance was something that had survived ages of gods, monsters, and destruction.
Her voice thundered through the mansion.
"I WILL DESTROY EVERYONE HERE!"
The estate trembled. The ground outside cracked, while the trees bent away from the mansion. Even the security systems began screaming warnings.
[WARNING!]
[EXTREME ENERGY OUTPUT DETECTED!]
[UNKNOWN ENTITY HOSTILITY DETECTED!]
Silas remained seated. His expression hadn’t changed. If anything, he looked amused. No one could tell what he was thinking or even playing at.
’Mischief... huh...’
"Really?" Echidna glared at him. "You dare?"
Silas slowly stood, and his pink eyes began glowing. The playful atmosphere disappeared.
"Try."
A wave of pink aura erupted from his body.
WHOOOOOOOOOM!
It slammed against Echidna’s aura, causing the two energies to collide. The living room became the center of an invisible storm.
Pink energy twisted around Silas, while dark, poisonous mana surrounded Echidna. The floor beneath them cracked. Chloe immediately grabbed Anna and pulled her backward.
"Everyone out!"
Alpha didn’t need to be told twice.
"I’m already doing that!"
He sprinted toward the door.
Gromda hesitated.
"But Mate-"
"HE’LL BE FINE!"
Silas and Echidna stared at each other. Neither moved, and neither backed down.
Silas’s aura continued expanding, while Echidna’s golden eyes narrowed.
"You’re challenging me?"
Silas smirked. "I already did."
For one heartbeat, nothing happened. Then... Echidna disappeared. Silas’s eyes flashed.
"Fast."
She appeared directly in front of him, her hand shooting toward his chest. He caught her wrist, and the impact created a shockwave that blew several cushions across the room.
"Got you."
Echidna’s eyes widened as Silas grinned.
"Let’s take this outside."
Before anyone could react, Silas grabbed her hand and pulled.
"Eh-?"
WHOOSH!
Both of them shot through the open balcony doors and disappeared into the afternoon sky.
Chloe’s eyes widened. "Silas!"
Gromda ran toward the balcony, but Alpha stopped her before she did something stupid.
"Don’t!"
"But..."
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!
