Spy Wife Harem: SSS-rank Secret Organization
Chapter 33: A search for God.
The party, now guided by the king himself, walked through the corridors of the castle.
Each path they took was already emptied by the red mage and the knights. The priests of Theocracy were confined to a room deep inside the castle at the order of the king as well.
They were going back to the Gray tower, and the four hooded figures behind the king were the mysteries that the princesses and the queens who were also confined to their rooms were wondering the identity of.
They weren’t going to find out who they were, but, right now, nothing was more important than what they were doing so, as they moved to the highest room of the gray tower, a place they had once been to, the leader of the group walking beside the primus became more certain of something.
"If it’s a lowGod as you mention, then they’d be here." The King and his party, including the red mage, now stood at the highest point in the tower, the place that had a demonic spell carved into its floor.
"A long time ago, my forefathers were able to decipher this spell and it is recorded that it leads to a separate space one cannot access without sacrificing five hundred lives."
So he was saying his predecessors killed five hundred just to activate this thing.
"It is said that the spell is of no great worth and was earned by the first red mage."
Shortly, the first red mage sold his soul to a demon in exchange of some spells and this happened to be one of them.
The man must not have known how the spell was used back then so he just left it here. Now, this spell was the only lead they had to find their lost prince.
"My king, this is a spell. If you say a god-." The Red mage was oblivious to the truth of spells and the powers of higher entities.
But, his king had learned the truth a long time ago.
"Sir mage, you shall see the truth with your own eyes." The king looked at the primus, as if to ask for her permission.
They were undercover so her powers were already restricted right now. And if they had fought him, all four of them would have used far more than what they needed to use for this mission.
It was ineffective.
But, the involvement of a divinity changes everything.
He was an ally now, one that was going to be of great help to them.
"Sure." She nodded at him, speaking to him so informally that the red mage frowned for a moment.
But then, the woman in the front nodded to the man beside her and the man nodded to the woman who stood right behind him.
"Can everyone please step back?" Spot asked them politely, quickly walking in the center of the spell. "Sir mage, I’ll need some of your magic power."
This time, she did not ask for his permission.
She simply extended her hand as a few threads of white came out of her fingertips, landed on the red mage’s chest, and started sucking out what seemed like blood.
"...?"
The mage was stunned.
What was going on?
It wasn’t blood that she sucked out of him, it was the still magical power, the power granted to him by his bloodline, seeping out of him.
He had always possessed this power. It grew as he grew older, but at one point it stopped growing. Still, it was far superior to most other mages he had met in his lifetime.
His power was superior to lowDemons and spawns of demons. Demonids were powerful, but he did not just have this magical power.
He had the unique understanding of how he could use it, as well as proper imagination to learn and create spells that were much of his own.
He knew spells can be made and taught, but the power used in these spells was supposed to be part of an individual.
It should only be used along with the spells and it should only recover as one rested. It wasn’t something one can take out of them, and, it should certainly not be something one could use as their own when each spell and each magic had a different requirement to use their powers.
But, as he watched, the hooded woman, much shorter and thinner than him, possessing no demonic qualities what so ever, used his power, weaved a strange three dimensional structure that made him gasp, and as if kneading dough, she moulded it to fit a structure resembling the spell itself.
"Phenominal..." The king couldn’t contain his joy. He was right to assume the people that accompanied the Primus would be just as amazing as her.
Seeing someone work spells like this was the first time even for him. But more than that, seeing a human do what should only be possible for Demons and Gods was a sight that reminded him of the time his master had split a mountain in half with nothing more than a motion of her hand.
What may have required hundreds of human lives was achieved in a matter of minutes, and soon, the spell on the ground was activated, glowing red and black from the red mage’s magical power.
-Ooooooooooooooong!
In a blink of their eye, they vanished from the gray tower top floor and, with a burst of light greeting their eyes, they found themselves inside a vast snow field, covered on all sides with sand like sharp snow: not white but green in color.
There were trees here, all blue instead of red or green, and there was a sky above them, a strange green sky that seemed like an endless grassland.
This was a strange space.
And as they stood in here, looking around, their senses picking up on everything around them from small to big, they knew one thing: they were not alone right now.
"This..." The king was surprised for a moment but he regained his composure when he felt a unique energy wash over him.
He knew the energy better than anyone else in his house.
The primus’ hand was on his shoulder.
"We have company." The one who had captured the prince was here.
Their sweet sunny prince was here.
And while the king did not know what the gods do with the good vessels they discover out in the wild, the four of them were well aware of the process.
And it was not a pretty sight. By any means.
