Chapter 447 - Magic Sword
There wasn't any reason in particular that Eisen grabbed his Customer's Racial Skill, but Eisen simply figured that if he had the chance, he should make use of it.
Other skills could be usually gained regularly, and if it was a special sort of skill, there should still be a similar one that Eisen could learn and then make use of, but Racial skills were at a different level of Unique, so just in case he ever needed the Goliath Racial skill, he had it around.
He also made an extra of the Racial skill of the Changeling that he made the book and cloak for the other day. It might be able to help him out in his Demonic Transformation at some point, after all.
Either way, for now, Eisen figured he should just get everything ready, and even swiftly mentally made a design, using his 'Crafter's Mind' skill, to visualize the Greatsword that Gaurkon wanted as the Goliath described it. He was wearing black and purple armor with white edges and details and had a red cape on his back, so Eisen figured he should try to make the blade fit that somewhat.
Luckily, with the help of visualization, he could directly turn the Greatsword he thought up into a mental blueprint and could even describe all of the materials and as such quite swiftly had a list floating in front of him.
"Alright then... That should make us end up with roughly... 50, maybe 60 Silver." The old man said with a slight nod, and Gaurkon looked at him with a wry smile. "Got it... Luckily I still have that much left, haha..." He laughed quietly, before Eisen just chuckled. "Don't worry, if you shouldn't have all the money, we can also lower the price and you just make up for it by trading me some rare crystals, gems, metals, and so on. Anything I can craft with, basically." The old man laughed, so the Goliath simply nodded his head in relief. "Thanks. So then I'll be back later tonight." He said with a nod, so Eisen just gave him a quick thumbs-up and quickly turned around to the inside of the stall.
To properly save some space, since it was close to impossible to widen the streets any more than now, the bigger stall-spots had an area carved into the mountain wall that they could store things or work in.
It seemed slightly tight for Eisen's liking, but this was a Dwarven town, so it was to be expected. He had all the space he technically needed for this, especially as his workstations could all nearly instantly appear and disappear, being made of Eisen's element and all.
"Then let's get this started, shall we?" Eisen said with a smirk on his face and quickly got out his staff, creating a small smithy inside of the carved-out space as he turned toward Sigurd. "I need some steel, Evalia's metal-dye, gold, silver, and some darkness and light crystals and gems." The old man said, and before he knew it, Sigurd appeared and placed a few of the items that Eisen needed onto the ground, making it possible for him to get to work already. With a crack of his knuckles, Eisen threw the steel into the Forge and swiftly started to hammer it into a larger chunk of steel to later form the actual blade out of.
Of course, as usual, Eisen was folding the metal and infusing it with mana as he was at it, although this time around it wasn't his own. Instead, it was with the elemental mana that the simple elemental-mana generator that Eisen made produced. It wouldn't turn the steel into Elemental High-Steel, and it wouldn't change the actual strength of the metal much differently t o when using normal mana, but it would help out with letting the Goliath's element flow into it and give a slight bonus as well, which was the whole goal of this blade.
But other than the elemental mana, Eisen also folded something else into this metal. The smaller chunks of steel that Eisen combined, through melting them together, with Dark-Light crystals and gems, made by alchemically combining the darkness and light variants.
Once more, this had a similar reason as the elemental mana. Luckily, such things only strengthened metal, even if it was barely noticeable due to the rather small amount. Eisen just wanted everything to help out with the mana-flow again.
Other than that, Eisen simply added some of the metal-dye to get the right color he wanted.
Either way, for now, Eisen simply finished the actual blade until he was happy with it, and then started to work out the enchantments to place on the sides, which he would later fill with the Elemental White-Gold and Mythril that he was currently infusing behind him. With Eisen's current setup, it would only take a couple of hours to get materials at a satisfactory point, so he would just have to wait for a while.
Of course, in the meantime, once Sigurd got everything that Eisen needed outside, the Core Guardian and Draconic Living Dungeon made their way to the outside of town to set the actual Dungeon gate up, just like Eisen asked them to.
He hadn't finished the Dungeon Golems yet, but he would do so later on. For now it should be fine here anyway, considering the percentually small amount of combatists around.
The others were using their time simply helping out at the stall by selling items to the customers. And so, the old man could spend all the time he had on the blade, and simply continued figuring the enchantments out and quickly placed them onto the blade, before starting to grind the edges into it.
Once that process was done, he just took the blade and pushed it into the thin tempering-oven that Eisen form-fitted to this blade to mainly temper the center of the blade's body while mostly leaving the edges alone.
And while the metal parts were finishing up, Eisen got to work on the handle, at least part of it. Once more, there would be some certain pieces that were made of magic materials. Of course, a whole handle made of Magic Wood would be far too weak, so it would mostly be made of regular wood with some carved-out parts being filled with magic wood.
It would be completely wrapped in leather anyway, so it didn't matter how it looked in the end, so Eisen wasn't worrying about making it ornamentally pretty. He still thought the enchantments on the handle were quite beautiful, but that was just from the standpoint of a craftsman.
Soon enough, he was just done with the regular base. All that he needed now were the magic materials to finish everything up and put the whole blade together.
As such, Eisen chose to take the rest of the time he had to spend waiting by just properly caring for customers, making some smaller magic items that were requested that could be finished very quickly, or simply making more items to stock the stall up a little. He had the time, so why not?
But soon, around an hour before Gaurkon would come back for the item, the materials were done being infused, so he then just got to work. He alloyed the Elemental White-Gold and Mythril with the infused Dark-Light crystals and used them to fill in the enchantments on the blade, before carving the pieces for the handle out of the Elementally infused magic wood and just puzzling everything together, glueing it together with wood-glue around the metallic handle-piece attached to the blade, before tightly wrapping it in soaked leather. It would dry quite quickly and then end up tightening around the handle to both make sure the handle stayed in place, and to make sure the leather wouldn't drop off. Well, Eisen also kind of sewed it in place with mana thread, but that wasn't the important part.
What was important, however, was that after placing an elementally infused Dark-Light gem into the base of the handle, Eisen was soon done with the large blade that was just a slight bit shorter than the Goliath was tall. "Perfect." The old man said with a satisfied smirk on his face, and chose to just spend the couple of minutes that he had until it became six to polish the blade for Gaurkon.
It should look great, after all. Through the help of the metal-dye, the blade itself had a slight purple tinge to it, and the material filling out the enchantments had a white color, as similar to the one on the Goliath's armor as possible, and the leather for the handle was then simply dyed a dark red to fit the cape Gaurkon was wearing.
Soon, the blade was practically shining, and Eisen was more than happy with it. And when Gaurkon came around to pick it up, he was more than just happy with what he was seeing in front of him.
"Whoa, that looks awesome!" The player exclaimed as he was handed the blade, although soon, a small problem came around... Gaurkon didn't exactly fit the stat requirements just yet. He was close, and he would still be able to carry it around properly in a sheath, but wielding it for combat might be tough. "Dammit, so close!" Gaurkon yelled out bitterly, but Eisen just laughed loudly as he shook his head.
"Don't worry, this way you have a proper upgrade once you reach the right place. By the way, take this with you too." The old man said as he took a piece of paper out of his chest-pocket and handed it to the Goliath in front of him, who was currently sorting out the agreed amount of money on the palm of his hand.
"What is it?" The Goliath asked curiously, so Eisen just smirked in response. "Nothing special, it's just a description of what place uses which material. So something like a simple blueprint. That way you can have it reforged once you grow out of it, in case you take a liking to it." The old man said with a smirk, "Of course, it's also going to make repairs easier if you bring it to a Blacksmith that might not be overly familiar with this kind of item."
"Huh, neat. Well, thank you! Then here you go... I luckily managed to get all the money together." Gaurkon said with a wry smile, sad to see all that money he worked for gone all of a sudden, although Eisen just chuckled quietly.
"Thank you. It was a pretty nice item to work on. Treat it well, will you?" Eisen requested with a wink, and the Goliath quickly nodded his head in response.
"Haha, of course! I'll recommend you to my friends!" He exclaimed as he was making his way away from the stall, and Eisen just returned a wave while slightly smiling.
