Sovereign of the Firmaments

In the royal city of the Barren firmament.

"What is that light? Don't tell me there is a new family recognized by the heavens."

A middle-aged man saw the light from the heavens from the royal city and muttered to himself.

"Your majesty, it is definitely a new family recognized by the heavens and since there was orange coloured light, it is ranked Viscount grade by the Heavens."

There was an old man beside that middle-aged man, who shared his views respectfully.

That's right!

He was the king of the Barren firmament and his name was Aston Crestlance and as for the old man beside him, he was a loyal servant who was with him from the start of his journey.

At the same time, the old man acts as a minister who helps with suggestions for the Firmament.

"Having more ranked families is good for the Firmament."

With a slight smile on his face, King Aston nodded his head as he asked the old man, "You know what to do with the new family, right?"

"Yes, your majesty."

The old man was staying long enough with King Aston, so he knew what to do.

"You can leave now. I have something to talk about, with the pavilion head of the Weapons pavilion."

As soon as he finished his words, King Aston disappeared from his place.

'I hope the head of this new Viscount grade family knows what is good for him and his family, and swear his loyalty to the royal family.'

As for the old man, he silently thought in his head as he soon gave the orders to a royal guardian.

"Royal guardian, send a commander to the Silverstone town and make that new family swear their loyalty to the royal family."

"Minister, isn't it better to send a commander and his entire battalion? Last time, a Viscount ranked family made things difficult for the commander who went to them. If it is an army, it would make this new family think twice before doing anything funny."

The royal guardian hesitated a little before saying his concern.

"As expected of the head of the royal guardians. Send a commander and his entire battalion; however, make sure you take a couple of good things from the treasury to give to that new family."

The old man knew that lately, the newly ranked families were making things a little harder for them before swearing their loyalty. So, he thought of a battalion that would help them keep the thing quiet.

On the surface, it would look like the royal family sent an entire battalion to congratulate the family. So, it would be another bonus for the royal family.

"Haha...thank you for the praise, minister. I will carry out my duties now."

With a laugh, the head of the royal guardians left the royal palace.

In the Weapons pavilion of the royal city.

Just like all the guilds, the Weapons pavilion's main branch of the Barren firmament was in the royal city.

Currently, in a secret room of that weapons pavilion, King Aston and the pavilion head were talking about something.

"Here is your payment."

King Aston threw a space ring at the old man.

"Your majesty, when I did what you asked, you should pay me all the items I asked you, right?"

The old man asked King Aston with a slight smile; however, in his heart, he just scoffed at King Aston's actions.

"That item you ask for is very hard to find. As soon as I find it, I will give it to you as I  promised."

King Aston didn't think it was a big deal as he continued, "How long will it take to prepare another device that opens the portal to the evil world?"

"Your majesty, you are yet to finish the payment and you are already talking about the next deal….sigh."

The old man sighed as though he was taking a loss in the business he was doing with King Aston.

"Old man, stop sighing and tell me."

King Aston released the pressure to show his dominance, making the old man shiver a little; however, the old man tried his best to resist the pressure before saying, "Your majesty, if you kill me, your plans to make the Crestlance family into a Sovereign grade family."

Even though the Crestlance family was a royal family of the Barren firmament, it was still a Duke grade family. As the family head of the Crestlance family, he wanted his family to upgrade to the Sovereign grade family. So that he could have equal standing with the royal families of the other firmaments.

Right now, the Crestlance family was not invited for any events among the royal families of the other firmaments, urging King Astron to become powerful.

"That is the old reason, why you are still alive and your weapons pavilion was able to sell the weapons at your own price."

King Aston scoffed at the old man as he continued asking, "So, stop wasting my time and answer me."

"Your majesty, I used all the devices that I created for you. Now, I need at least a year to make another set of devices. So, if you want to open the evil portals in this firmament, you need to wait for at least a year."

The old man cursed King Aston in his heart and intentionally said that he needed a year to make the devices that could open the evil portals.

"Do whatever you want and I want another set of those devices in a year. Otherwise, I will cancel the contract with the Weapons pavilion before completely eradicating your weapons pavilion in this firmament."

With a serious warning, King Aston disappeared from the secret room of the Weapons pavilion.

'Damn you...bastard. If you haven't made me swear on my soul, I would have already informed you about the things you are making me do. Even though it would have made me suffer a little, it would have destroyed your entire family.'

After King Aston left the room, the old man cursed King Aston before muttering, 'Anyway, as long as I help him with that, my Weapon pavilion will become the sole powerful guild in the Barren firmament.'
