Sovereign of the Ashes
Chapter 2081: Sea Heart Flame
Perhaps because his relationship with the Dragon Clan had grown considerably closer, Sein received quite a few resources from White Stella as a parting gift before he left.
Most were hydro-attribute resources, including many rare materials unique to the Immortal Realm.
Among them, the one Sein valued most was a peculiar flame known as the Sea Heart Flame.
According to White Stella, this wondrous flame had been born in the depths of an ocean on a medium-sized plane within the Immortal Realm.
It had originally been a tribute to the Dragon Clan by the sea races of that plane before eventually being brought to the battlefields of the Magus Civilization.
What made the Sea Heart Flame particularly unusual was that it actually gave off law fluctuations of the ocean.
The flame could conjure towering waves and tsunamis, and it could even dissolve into water.
Of all the law flames Sein had encountered so far, this was undoubtedly one of the strangest.
According to the fundamental elemental principles of Magus World, water and fire were inherently incompatible forces.
There were certainly mages who pursued the power of elemental cataclysms and had found ways to combine opposing energies such as ice and fire.
But directly combining water and fire...
Sein could only marvel once again at the vastness of the Astral Realm.
As his strength increased and his horizons broadened, he encountered more and more phenomena that seemed to defy conventional understanding.
Yet Sein did not believe the existence of the Sea Heart Flame somehow violated the balance of the Astral Realm.
On the contrary, he was certain that behind this peculiar oceanic flame lay some deeper mechanism that still conformed to the fundamental laws governing the Astral Realm.
And that hidden mechanism was precisely what interested him most.
“In terms of intensity, this Sea Heart Flame is clearly inferior to the three most law flames in Grandmaster’s laboratory. But in terms of its nature and rarity...”
Sein could not help but marvel.
At first, he had no intention of accepting such a generous gift from White Stella.
Yet when the moment came to refuse, Sein found the words strangely difficult to say.
Seeing his hesitation, the smile on White Stella’s face broadened slightly.
“I chose this Sea Heart Flame specifically for you,” she said. “I’ve heard about your Ashen Flame Law. I hope this flame will be useful to you.”
Since the outbreak of the Clash of Civilizations, it had become increasingly common for familiar powerhouses to witness one another’s trump cards and fundamental law powers on the battlefield.
After thinking it over for a moment, Sein could only thank White Stella once again for her thoughtfulness and accept the gift from the Dragon Clan.
“In a little while, my mentor will be using the life mucus I brought back from the Divine Descendants World battlefield to concoct some potions. I’ll send a few over as a token of my gratitude when they’re ready,” Sein said.
White Stella did not refuse.
“Sure,” she replied with a slight nod.
After chatting with White Stella for a while longer, Sein mentioned that he would soon be returning to Magus World.
He also asked the giant mermaid to let Tourmaline know that once she returned, she could simply head to Magus World to find him.
As it happened, having Tourmaline return to Magus World was exactly what White Stella and the rest of her family wanted.
Although Tourmaline was already considerably powerful and capable of handling many dangers on the civilizational battlefield herself, she was still Baxia’s youngest child.
Naturally, everyone in the family doted on her excessively.
And thanks to his relationship with Tourmaline, Sein had somehow become one of the few powerhouses capable of prying treasures out of the Dragon Clan’s hands, despite their love of treasure being renowned throughout the entire Astral Realm.

After returning to Primeval Wilds Plane with the Sea Heart Flame, Sein immediately headed back to Feylis’ private laboratory.
At the time, Feylis was busy making preparations for the coming battle.
The Pyro Secret Society had recently issued new operational orders. In addition to conquering their original target plane, Feylis and her forces were now required to allocate part of their strength to escort a convoy of transport ships.
By the time Feylis finished arranging everything and returned to her laboratory, she found Sein standing at her main experimental bench, completely absorbed in analysing and activating the Sea Heart Flame.
A deep blue flame burned vigorously at the centre of the laboratory.
Powerful law fluctuations of the ocean spread through the surrounding space.
Yet this strange fusion of water and fire did not trigger an elemental cataclysm or cause some violent experimental explosion.
Instead, the deep blue flames cast a magnificent, almost dreamlike glow throughout Feylis’ private laboratory.
“This is...” Feylis stopped in her tracks, stunned by the sight before her.
The Sea Heart Flame itself was not particularly powerful, but the peculiar nature of its law was something even Feylis had never encountered before.
She had travelled through the Immortal Realm in the past, yet she had never discovered such an unusual flame during her journeys.
Perhaps this could be considered an oversight on her part.
Then again, the Immortal Realm possessed countless divine flames. Even with Feylis’ extensive experience, she had only ever encountered a tiny fraction of them.
The Southern Radiant Fire and the Nirvana Fire of the Phoenix Clan were both renowned throughout the Immortal Realm.
Yet apart from these two, there were said to be at least eight other top-tier divine flames of comparable calibre, many of which had been passed down since ancient times.
And the Immortal Realm was hardly the only place where such extraordinary flames could be found. The Magus Civilization itself possessed no shortage of powerful and unusual flames.
The Violet Lethal Thunder Fire was merely one that Feylis had happened to discover.
Who could say how many other extraordinary law flames, perhaps just as unusual as the Violet Lethal Thunder Fire or the Sea Heart Flame, were still hidden somewhere within the vast territory of the Magus Alliance?
Every mage was a seeker of Truth, and it was precisely because so much remained unknown that there would always be something new waiting to be discovered.
“Grandmaster, come over and take a look at this flame,” Sein called out without even turning around. “And bring the elemental stabilizer with you. I need your help testing how much law power this flame can withstand.”
After working together for some time, Sein had already grown familiar enough with Feylis’ presence that, even without looking back, he knew exactly who had returned.
“O-Oh....” Feylis paused for a moment before actually fetching the elemental stabilizer and stepping forward to assist Sein with the experiment.
Such was the charm of pursuing truth.
Once mages became completely absorbed in their research, it was easy to lose track of time, forget differences in seniority, and set aside the usual formalities between them.
“Grandmaster, help me hold the Sea Heart Flame up. If possible, try stimulating it with your Verdant Flame as well.”
“Grandmaster, what readings did you get from the test just now?”
“Grandmaster, do you think fusing my Ashen Flame with the Sea Heart Flame at this stage could trigger an elemental explosion?”
“......”
“Grandmaster...”
At first, Feylis cooperated readily.
After quite some time, however, she was the first to come back to her senses.
The more she thought about it, the more she felt that something about their current dynamic seemed a little strange.
“Sein...” Feylis began, seemingly wanting to say something.
Unfortunately, Sein was right in the middle of a critical stage of his flame fusion experiment and did not respond.
A little while later, Feylis called out again.
“Sein...”
“Hmm? Is something wrong, Grandmaster?”
Sein finally turned his head and looked at her curiously.
Feylis pursed her lips. She clearly had something she wanted to say, but after hesitating for a moment, she ultimately swallowed the words.
“Nothing,” she replied.
“Oh.”
Sein turned back around and continued with his experiment.
