Sovereign of the Ashes
Chapter 2080: Friendly
Their discussion yielded new insights for both sides, with Feylis gaining particularly much from it.
Sein had spent so many years away from her that even she did not fully understand the profound truths he had mastered over the course of his growth.
As Sein gradually explained some of his core insights, Feylis found herself increasingly surprised.
Eventually, he touched on so many topics that interested her that she could not help but ask, “When you were describing your core paths earlier, you mentioned something called Mechanical Fusion. What exactly is that?”
“Have you already embarked on the path of mechanics?” Feylis asked curiously.
“I even heard that you turned a Rank Six robot of the Gallant Federation against its own masters on the civilizational battlefield...” she added thoughtfully.
In truth, Feylis had never taken much interest in mechanics. It was simply not a field she had encountered during the early stages of her growth.
The era in which Feylis had risen to prominence predated the true flourishing of the Mechanics profession.
It was only after she advanced to Rank Four that Magus World produced its first overlord-level Mechanic, ushering the profession into a period of rapid development.
By then, Feylis already had little energy to spare for exploring an entirely different field.
The profound truths and mysteries she had chosen to pursue were more than enough to occupy her attention.
This also showed just how important the path one chose before reaching Rank Four could be to their future development.
Rank Three and the Demigod Realm, in particular, could already have a profound influence on the paths knights and mages would later take toward Rank Five and Rank Six.
For some, that influence could begin as early as Rank Two.
Sein himself had first come into contact with mechanical knowledge while he was still at Rank One, after capturing Yuri in Viridian Venom Flame World.
Back then, he had known almost nothing about mechanics or mecha.
Relying largely on his foundation in alchemy, Sein had slowly explored the field until he reached his current level.
Feylis was merely curious about the mechanical knowledge Sein had mastered. She had no intention of delving too deeply into the subject, nor could she offer him much guidance in that particular field.
Sein also knew that his grandmaster would be leaving before long. With their time together limited, he had no intention of spending too much of it discussing something Feylis could not help him with.
“I’ll explain them to you in more detail when we have more time in the future, Grandmaster. Right now, I’m more interested in the pyro elemental tempering principles you mentioned earlier. Those three flames you said were here in the laboratory...” Sein said, steering the conversation back to the matters that interested him most.
“It’s the Southern Radiant Fire, the Nirvana Fire, and the Violet Lethal Thunder Fire.”
Feylis had not expected Sein to brush aside the topic so quickly. Although she was briefly taken aback, she soon recovered and began explaining the three flames one by one.
“I obtained the Southern Radiant Fire during my travels through the Immortal Realm, at the Southern Pole of Primordial World. The Nirvana Fire came from an overlord-level phoenix of our Magus Alliance. As for the Violet Lethal Thunder Fire, I collected it near the heart of Violet Ember World, a large-sized allied world,” Feylis explained.
Grandmaster Feylis had really travelled to an astonishing number of places and had clearly dealt with overlord-level beings.
Sein marvelled inwardly for a moment before quickly following up with more questions.
While he had access to Feylis’ private laboratory, he had no intention of wasting even a second.
With only a limited amount of time available, Sein intended to squeeze every last bit of knowledge he could out of his grandmaster. Only by doing so would all the good things he had given Feylis, Gregory, and the rest of the Verdant Flame Faction not have been in vain.
During one of these discussions, Sein suddenly remembered something else.
“Grandmaster, I’m planning to craft a world-class magic scepter next. I intend to use a peak Rank Six divine relic as the finial.”
“Do you have any advice for me when it comes to alchemy? Could I perhaps take a look at your magic scepter? I don’t have much experience with wandcrafting yet,” Sein admitted.
Feylis was still pondering the previous question Sein had asked and did not immediately register what he had just said.
Several seconds passed before she suddenly looked up in surprise.
“What? You’re planning to craft a world-class secret treasure already?”

Talking with Sein always had a way of making Feylis feel her age.
Over the following year and a half, however, Sein did not spend all his time in his grandmaster’s private laboratory.
Feylis had many responsibilities of her own, while Sein also needed to return to Ashen Fortress from time to time to verify some of his experimental findings.
Even so, he visited Verdant Flame Fortress extremely frequently during this period.
Feylis had even granted him unrestricted access to her private laboratory.
Sometimes, even when she was not there, Sein could enter on his own and continue studying the rare law flames in her laboratory.
Naturally, Sein knew better than to wander around carelessly or pry into anything unrelated to his research.
For a mage, allowing someone unrestricted access to a private laboratory was already an extraordinary sign of trust.
In fact, ever since Lorianne had matured and established her divine tower in the Viridescent Land, Feylis had never granted anyone else the same privilege.

Besides frequently exchanging ideas with his grandmaster and keeping busy with his own experiments, Sein also found time to leave Primeval Wilds Plane and make a trip to Water Orchid Plane, located near the battlefields surrounding the Apocalypse Star Domain.
He had truly squeezed the trip into his schedule. Even including the journey there and back, Sein spent less than a month away.
The reason he had gone out of his way to visit Water Orchid Plane was because he had learned that White Stella and the sea race legions of Magus World were currently stationed there.
Moreover, these legions would soon be advancing again to participate in the next phase of the war.
Once that happened, finding White Stella and the others again across the vast civilizational battlefield would not be so easy.
Besides White Stella, Black Oblivion, Hanliu, and Qixiu were also stationed on Water Orchid Plane.
Rank Five Ocean King Orric and the Aquarian Legion under his command were stationed nearby as well, ready to answer White Stella’s summons at any time.
Not long after Sein arrived, Black Oblivion, who had always been pretty friendly with him, enthusiastically dragged him off to meet his cousins.
Those cousins were equally friendly. Most of them possessed life levels ranging from Rank Four to Rank Six.
Sein did not even realise just how many different dragonkin had gathered on Water Orchid Plane until now!
Most belonged to species he had never encountered before, and their auras were noticeably different from those of the dragons living on the surface of Magus World or the Abyssal Dragons dwelling underground.
After being introduced to one cousin after another, Sein finally managed to shake off the overly enthusiastic Black Oblivion and went to meet White Stella.
Now that she had advanced to Rank Six, White Stella was no longer in her enormous true form.
Instead, she had transformed into a form roughly the height of an ordinary human from Magus World. Sein also noticed that beneath her skirt was a pair of slender legs rather than a fishtail.
White Stella already knew why he had come.
Before Sein could even ask, she spoke first.
“My little sister is fine. She’s currently on the battlefield in the star domain where the Myriad Springs World coalition legions are stationed. We’ve already sent someone to bring her back, so she should return before long,” White Stella explained.
She then looked at Sein and added sincerely, “And I must thank you, Mage Sein, for saving my little sister when she was in danger.”
During this meeting, Sein could clearly sense that White Stella’s attitude toward him had changed somewhat from before.
Sein shook his head modestly. “Actually, Tourmaline was the one who saved me at the time. Without her, I might have already perished in the space-time turbulence.”
“Heh, my little sister said exactly the same thing. It really is touching to hear how the two of you supported each other all the way to the end.”
White Stella smiled before continuing, “Even several of our uncles have heard about what happened between the two of you.”
“Huh?” Sein responded in surprise.
