Sorry, the Villain's Mom Is a God of Cookery
Chapter 157: No Fighting
Chapter 157: Chapter 157: No Fighting
The person shouting complaints was a man in his forties.
He was burly, and the way he stood with his hands on his hips immediately marked him as someone ill-tempered and not to be trifled with.
The ones being yelled at, with a finger pointed in their faces, were two young women around twenty years old.
They looked young and innocent, probably college students.
Caught completely off guard, both of them were stunned by the verbal assault.
"I... I..."
The man’s demeanor was so aggressive that the two were too scared to speak, their tongues tied in knots.
But the man seized this opportunity:
"What about you? So young and already cutting in line! You have no manners! No upbringing! Give me your ticket! Get behind me!"
At first glance, his words sounded righteous, but upon closer inspection, the man’s true intentions became clear.
What cutting in line? What getting in front of him?
He was just tired of waiting and wanted to pick on someone weaker, using it as an excuse to snatch their ticket!
The two young women finally realized what was happening and quickly dodged the man’s grabbing hands.
"We didn’t cut in line. My friend got here first, and I just went to buy something nearby. I came back a little later."
’Just as you’d expect from naive college students, trying to reason with a man like him!’
Why would the man listen?
He waved his hand dismissively.
"Cut the crap. You cut in line! Now give me the ticket!"
He postured as if he was about to snatch it away!
"Hey, sir!"
The employee standing at the door quickly pushed through the crowd to intervene.
There were cameras filming outside the restaurant, and so many viewers were watching!
If things escalated, it would reflect poorly on their program!
The clever Nan Yi understood this as well.
He had a strong sense of ownership and was about to go over without a second thought.
Fu Yunfeng, who had been watching the commotion with his arms crossed, caught sight of this out of the corner of his eye. His body reacted faster than his mind, and he reached out, grabbed Nan Yi by the back of his collar, and yanked him back.
Suddenly airborne, Nan Yi instinctively kicked his little legs a couple of times.
Nan Yi: ???
"What are you doing!"
He raised his voice, a little angry.
Fu Yunfeng looked at the little guy, who was ready to shoot off like a firecracker, and felt a little exasperated.
"What’s a little guy like you going up there for? What if you get hit?"
Nan Yi angrily waved his little fists.
"I have to protect our restaurant!"
The livestream viewers who noticed the commotion at the entrance:
[Hey, hey, hey, they’re arguing over there! They’re not going to start a fight, are they?]
[You can tell that guy is just looking for trouble. I’ve seen plenty like him, they’re so annoying and shameless!]
[Yiyi, don’t go over there!]
[Sweetie, that handsome uncle is right. What if you get hurt?]
[But it’s actually really touching to hear Nan Yi say that.]
[Someone from the restaurant, hurry! Someone’s causing a scene!]
[Aren’t there any police or other staff nearby to maintain order?]
...
Fu Yunfeng glanced into the distance.
Just as the verbal conflict was about to escalate into a physical one...
He asked Nan Yi:
"You really want to go?"
Nan Yi’s eyes widened in anger.
"Of course!"
"Alright."
Fu Yunfeng reached out and scooped Nan Yi up into his arms.
Nan Yi’s first reaction was to struggle.
Until Fu Yunfeng held his restless little body still and said:
"Didn’t you want to protect the restaurant? You need the high ground to have a commanding presence."
Nan Yi reluctantly admitted that made a lot of sense and quieted down.
He jutted his chin out.
As Fu Yunfeng walked closer, Nan Yi pointed with his small hand.
"What are you doing! No fighting!"
His young, boyish voice was surprisingly loud and clear.
It cut through the chaotic crowd with extreme clarity, causing many people to turn and look.
But this did not include the man who had started the trouble.
He had gone from attacking the young women to spewing insults like a mad dog, snapping at everyone.
His fire was especially concentrated on Nan Family’s Small Restaurant:
"...What kind of crappy place is this! A dump of a restaurant acting like some high-end establishment, even making people take a number? I’ll take your damn number! Do you have any idea how precious my time is..."
The man’s curses grew uglier.
Fu Yunfeng reminded him:
"Cover your ears."
Nan Yi shot him a look and muttered under his breath:
"I’m not a three-year-old."
Despite his words, he obediently raised his hands and covered his ears, blocking out the foul language.
The corners of Fu Yunfeng’s mouth turned up slightly.
He took two steps forward, holding Nan Yi with one arm, and shot his other hand out with lightning speed, catching the man’s flailing arm!
"...You bitches... Who? What are you doing!"
The man glared back, ready to hit Fu Yunfeng.
Fu Yunfeng’s iron-like grip tightened fiercely.
The man’s bones creaked and cracked under the pressure, and he let out a pained scream on the spot.
Any thought of fighting naturally evaporated. The man was quick to fold when he met a tough opponent, and he began begging for mercy relentlessly.
Fu Yunfeng didn’t let go, looking down on the man who had collapsed to the ground.
"What’s all the fuss? You think you own this place?"
"Ow, ow, ow... I was wrong, I was wrong!"
The man felt like his hand was about to break!
Fu Yunfeng’s gaze shifted slightly. Confirming that Nan Yi’s ears were covered, he leaned in and said something to the man in a low voice.
The man’s eyes widened in astonishment. He gradually stopped struggling, staring at Fu Yunfeng in terror.
Fu Yunfeng, however, still appeared gentle and refined, like a perfect gentleman from a storybook.
He even nodded at the man with a smile.
The man only found it terrifying.
By the time the police patrolling nearby arrived to maintain order, they took the man aside to "educate" him.
The disturbance quickly subsided.
Still perched on Fu Yunfeng’s arm, Nan Yi stared at him without blinking, his big eyes bright and full of spirit.
Fu Yunfeng was in a rather good mood.
"What is it? A little impressed with me?"
Nan Yi decisively shook his head.
"I heard what you said just now! You said you were going to break his legs... Mmmph!"
His mouth quickly covered by Fu Yunfeng, Nan Yi puffed out his angry cheeks like a little pufferfish.
Nan Yi: ’Let go!’
Only then did Fu Yunfeng slowly let go, saying:
"Little guy, don’t learn such bad things."
Nan Yi was unconvinced.
"I think it’s pretty useful!"
’If a few words could protect his mom, he would use them without a second thought!’
Fu Yunfeng saw the blazing fire in Nan Yi’s eyes.
In that instant, it was as if he saw a shadow of his younger self in Nan Yi.
That stubborn, persistent boy who refused to yield to fate, struggling desperately in the mire.
But alas, in the end, he had still lost to fate...
"Such a little adult."
Fu Yunfeng could only offer this single comment.
Nan Yi huffed.
"I want to get down!"
Just as Fu Yunfeng was about to bend down and put Nan Yi back on the ground...
Assistant He returned.
With him, aside from Xiao Chen who had been delayed by an upset stomach, was another person—
"Fu Yunfeng? Why are you here?"
A cold, clear voice cut through the dense crowd, exceptionally distinct amidst the clamor.
Fu Yunfeng didn’t need to try hard to recognize the owner of the voice.
"You..."
"Auntie, you’re here again?"
Nan Yi’s crisp voice rang out.
Qing Qing walked closer.
Her gaze switched from ice-cold to gentle in an instant.
"Call me Grandma."
