Sorry, Our Captain Is a True All-Rounder
Chapter 190: You Just Wait
The others breathed a sigh of relief when they saw Lin Jingjing wake up. Feng He rushed forward and threw her arms around her. “You’re finally awake.”
“Haha, I was out for a while this time,” Lin Jingjing said with a chuckle.
She glanced around but didn’t see Mo Xuan. “Where’s Mo Xuan?” she asked.
At the mention of Mo Xuan, the other three were filled with rage. Shi Feng cursed on the spot, “Dammit! That Fifth Corps is full of fucking animals. They made Mo Xuan run around doing their bidding, then went back on their word and refused to lend us their troops.”
“I wish I could go over there and beat them to death right now!” Shi Feng yelled, furious.
“He’s not back yet?” Lin Jingjing’s eyes narrowed as she heard this, her voice cool.
“That’s right. He was supposed to come back today, but the commander of the Fifth Corps detained him. He said Mo Xuan can’t leave until he can beat him in a fight.” Gu Kaiwen clenched his fists in anger. “When Mo Xuan called us earlier, his face was all bruised and swollen.”
Seeing their brother in such a state, they all wanted to rush over and give Alderick a brutal beating.
“I see.” Lin Jingjing nodded, then opened her Star Ring in front of everyone and placed a video call to Alderick.
The call connected quickly. The first thing they saw was Mo Xuan, beaten and sprawled on the ground. If his chest hadn’t still been rising and falling, they would have thought he was dead.
Seeing this, Lin Jingjing’s eyes narrowed.
But Alderick hadn’t yet realized the gravity of the situation. He was all smiles as he greeted Lin Gou. “Good afternoon, Director Lin.”
“Are you also here to borrow troops from our Fifth Corps?”
“It’s just a shame your subordinate isn’t strong enough to beat me. I can’t very well lend him troops, now can I?”
“I hear you’ve detained my man,” Lin Jingjing said, her gaze so sharp it seemed to pierce right through Alderick.
In response to Lin Jingjing’s question, Alderick was still all smiles. “Well, if he can’t beat me, I can’t just let him leave.”
“Do you take my Fifth Corps for a place you can just come and go as you please?” As he spoke, Alderick’s entire demeanor changed.
He lifted his foot and viciously kicked Mo Xuan again, his eyes filled with cruelty.
Mo Xuan, already heavily injured, spat out a large mouthful of blood from the force of the kick.
Feng He saw this and became frantic. She pushed Gu Kaiwen aside to get in front of the screen, her eyes filled with worry. “Mo Xuan! Are you okay?!”
Mo Xuan let out a choked grunt and spat out another mouthful of blood.
He struggled to his feet and tried to wipe the blood from the corner of his mouth with the back of his hand, but it was no use.
The back of his hand was already covered in blood, so he couldn’t wipe it clean. Instead, he just smeared more blood across his once-fair face.
Their hearts ached watching him, and they glared at Alderick with fists clenched in fury.
‘He’s getting revenge on Mo Xuan!’
‘He has to be!’
“Oh? He can still stand. What a stubborn life force,” Alderick said with a chuckle when he saw this.
As he spoke, he used his spiritual pressure to force Mo Xuan back to the ground.
“Commander Alderick, you are torturing my man,” Lin Jingjing said. “If you continue to hold him, are you not afraid I’ll report this to the King?”
Hearing Lin Jingjing mention the King only made Alderick more displeased. “You think you’re worthy of mentioning the King?”
“The King’s name is not for low-level grunts like you to speak.”
Alderick had been itching for a chance to deal with Mo Xuan and his kind for a long time. Now that he finally had an opportunity for revenge, there was no way he would let it slip by.
‘I’m going to beat this Mo Xuan bastard until he can’t get up!’
“And what if we are?” Lin Jingjing sneered. “Release my man. Now.”
“If I release him just because you say so, where would that leave my pride?” Alderick refused. ‘He’s just a minor vice-captain. If I kill him, I kill him.’
‘Is the King really going to uproot my entire family for this Mo Xuan?’
‘Is he going to force me to step down for this Lin Jingjing?’
‘My brothers in the Fifth Corps wouldn’t stand for it, and neither would my father.’
Backed by his powerful family, Alderick wasn’t the least bit flustered. He even began to taunt Lin Jingjing.
“I could kill him right now and face no punishment. Believe it or not.” As Alderick spoke, he walked over to Mo Xuan, lifted his foot, and kicked him viciously again.
Seeing this, Feng He couldn’t stop the tears from streaming down her face.
“Mo Xuan…”
His actions infuriated everyone. They wished they could leap through the screen and beat him to a pulp.
Lin Jingjing was even more furious—so furious that her spiritual power began to overflow.
The powerful spiritual pressure was almost too much for the others in the room to bear.
“If you dare kill him, I will make you and your entire family follow him to the grave,” Lin Jingjing said in a cold voice. Her face was stern and imposing, her dark eyes fixed unblinkingly on Alderick.
If looks could kill, Alderick would have died a thousand times over.
Perhaps sensing her murderous gaze, Alderick clicked his tongue in annoyance and ordered a nearby soldier, “Send him back.”
“Sir.”
Lin Jingjing stared at him and said coldly, “You just wait.”
“Fine, I’ll be waiting,” Alderick said dismissively. “What are you going to do?”
Seeing his smug expression, everyone was so furious they wanted to kill him.
After ending the call, Lin Jingjing said, “Dig up every dirty secret his family has.”
“By tomorrow, I want him stripped of his command of the Fifth Corps.”
Lu Shaoyu quickly responded, “Yes, ma’am!”
After acknowledging the order, Lu Shaoyu quickly left. The remaining four stood in place, their faces grim.
“What about the other four corps?” Lin Jingjing asked, looking at the other three.
“They all refused, but none of them gave Mo Xuan any trouble,” Feng He said. “Only that asshole from the Fifth Corps bullied him!”
“I see.” Lin Jingjing nodded.
Those people thought Lin Jingjing was just some minor director, so they didn’t take her seriously.
But Lin Jingjing’s authority was second only to Yun Yiyou; she could investigate anything she wanted.
“You all should start preparing as well. Get the soldiers ready. Soon, we’re going to dismantle Huang Bo Lin’s base, and then we’ll get Yun Yiyou to give Blue Star back to us,” Lin Jingjing told them.
“Understood.”
The three of them looked at Lin Jingjing’s dark expression. They all knew she was furious.
‘They spared a moment of silence for Alderick’s fate, then spent the rest of it laughing at his stupidity.’
In a single night, Lu Shaoyu had dug up all the evidence of their crimes.
Her team members were all experts at finding evidence. Now that the restrictions were off, they were like fish back in water.
