Captain Li was at a loss for what to do, watching the distant Mo Xuan shriek madly, his eyes bloodshot.

Captain Li sighed. ’It’s the only way.’

"Go ahead."

Given permission, Lin Jingjing immediately took action. She aimed her heavy rifle directly at Mo Xuan’s head and, without hesitation, pressed the button.

The Energy Cannon blast shot toward Mo Xuan, but just as it was about to hit him, it stopped dead in mid-air.

The sight left them all stunned.

"Holy crap!" Shi Feng blurted out in shock. "Is that even possible?"

"He’s been dead for nine years, how does he still have spiritual power? This is insane!"

Shi Feng’s eyes went wide, his face a mask of utter disbelief.

The energy blast was quickly flung aside by Mo Xuan. It exploded on the ground, injuring many mutant beasts and soldiers alike.

After seeing that, Lin Jingjing didn’t dare press the fire button again.

"How are we supposed to kill him now?" Shi Feng was dumbfounded.

Mo Xuan was dead, but who knew what kind of experiments had been performed on him. He seemed to be thinking for himself now, his gaze fixed on Lin Jingjing’s mecha.

The woman inside the large mutant beast slowly opened her eyes. They weren’t white, but a normal color.

"Why aren’t her eyes white?" Mo Xuan noticed and quickly asked.

The young woman’s eyes were clear. She looked nothing like Mo Xuan.

The others took a closer look and one of them quickly asked.

"Do you think she can still be saved?"

"She might be."

"Gu Kaiwen, get a little closer and try talking to her. See if she responds."

Gu Kaiwen was the closest. Hearing them, he edged his mecha forward.

Then he switched on his loudspeaker and addressed the woman, "Hello there."

His "Hello there" left everyone speechless. Shi Feng chuckled and asked, "That’s how you’re going to talk to her?"

"Well, what else?" Gu Kaiwen retorted. He glanced at the pitch-black sky. "Should I wish her a ’good evening’ then?"

"Never mind."

Captain Li watched their relaxed demeanor. He couldn’t sense any of the tension of war from them.

He didn’t understand why they seemed so confident, but listening to their banter, Captain Li’s own anxiety and tension slowly began to fade.

At the sound, the woman slowly turned her head toward Gu Kaiwen’s mecha.

Her sharp eyes stared intently at Gu Kaiwen’s mecha. Then, under everyone’s gaze, the woman’s mouth slowly began to split open.

Just like that, the woman mutated right in front of everyone. She had turned into a monster.

"She’s dead," Mo Xuan said coldly. "Sister Lin, blow her away."

He just wanted to end this battle quickly.

While they were bantering, the woman fired another massive, white energy blast. Gu Kaiwen was closest. The moment he saw her mouth open to charge the attack, he immediately piloted his mecha to a safe distance.

"She can fire her own blasts, too!" Gu Kaiwen practically fled for his life, terrified that if he were too slow, these monsters would kill him.

The woman looked at Lin Jingjing’s mecha, then shot the fully charged energy from her mouth toward her.

Lin Jingjing saw it, her eyes widening involuntarily. At the same time, from the other side, Mo Xuan launched a sonic attack in her direction.

"Seriously? Both of them are coming after me!" Lin Jingjing hurriedly threw up another shield for the Mechanical Soldiers in mechas near her, afraid they’d get killed if she didn’t act fast enough.

The group immediately complied, and they all began attacking the two. Seeing this, the other soldiers nearby also gritted their teeth and charged forward.

After everyone’s unrelenting efforts, they finally managed to take down the two behemoths.

In the end, Captain Li piloted his mecha, rushed forward, and lopped off Mo Xuan’s head in a single blow, watching as the head plummeted to the ground.
