When Captain Li heard their voices, tears welled up in his eyes. He knew he was saved.

He hurriedly gave his location to Lin Jingjing’s group, then urged them on without a hint of politeness, "Hurry! If you don’t get here soon, those monsters are going to eat me!"

"Got it," they replied, accelerating toward Captain Li’s position.

When they arrived, they saw the gray Mecha completely swarmed by monsters. The machine had been torn to pieces.

The five of them froze for a moment at the sight, then charged forward as if they’d lost all reason.

Lin Jingjing immediately released the animals from her Spiritual World, ordering them to tear the monsters apart.

"Xiao Cui, go crush these worthless things," Lin Jingjing commanded, her eyes cold with anger.

Receiving her command, the Emerald King Snake and the other animals immediately charged forward, throwing the monsters aside. They quickly cleared a path, revealing the wreckage of the gray Mecha.

Lin Jingjing and the others immediately jumped out of their Mechas. Peering through a gap in the wrecked machine, they saw Captain Li, hanging nearly upside down.

"Captain Li, hang on! We’re coming to get you out!" Shi Feng yelled. As if by instinct, the animals cleared the area and formed a defensive perimeter, fending off any monsters that tried to charge in.

The group started tearing at the Mecha’s outer shell with their bare hands. Gu Kaiwen, being the strongest, ripped the battered hull open with a single pull.

They were all overjoyed to see Captain Li. Noticing his pale face, Feng He quickly leaned in to check his pulse.

He found that the Captain’s spiritual power was severely depleted. Furthermore, being upside down for so long had caused blood to rush to his head, which wasn’t good for him.

The safety harness was also buckled so tightly that it had left a dark red mark on Captain Li’s chest.

Gu Kaiwen quickly unfastened the harness and carefully helped him to his feet.

When Captain Li stood up, his entire body was numb. He felt awful.

His face was pale and he clutched his chest. His head throbbed with a dizzying pain.

"Is Captain Li alright?" Mo Xuan asked, glancing at Feng He. "He looks like he’s in a lot of pain."

Feng He said, "He’s just dizzy and numb from being hung upside down for so long. He also overexerted his spiritual power, so his head is probably aching."

Hearing that Captain Li wasn’t in any serious danger, they all breathed a sigh of relief.

’As long as he’s okay.’

"How did you guys find me?" Captain Li asked weakly, looking at the five of them.

Lin Jingjing replied, "Your King told us you were on the battlefield, so we came."

If it weren’t for Captain Li, they never would have come here.

They might have been meddlers, but that didn’t mean they had no principles.

They weren’t about to go crawling back to someone who had humiliated them.

"Good thing we have a conscience, otherwise Captain Li really would’ve met his end here today," Feng He joked.

Captain Li chuckled. "Did the King say he was coming to help?"

At the mention of Yun Yiyou, disdainful expressions crossed everyone’s faces.

Mo Xuan, with his venomous tongue, was the first to speak, his words dripping with sarcasm.

"He’s got plenty of time on his hands. Just sitting around, relaxed as can be, not a hint of urgency."

"If his spiritual power were weaker, we could understand him not coming to help. After all, he is the head of state. It would be a disgrace if he came here only to be eaten by a mutant beast."

"But his combat strength is the highest in the entire Empire. The strongest person is just sitting idly by... It’s a real eye-opener."

"Hope he doesn’t get sick from all that leisure," Feng He added. Captain Li listened to the young couple’s sarcastic banter.

He was stunned for a moment before bursting into laughter. "Aren’t you afraid someone will hear you talking like that?" Captain Li asked with a grin. He leaned against Gu Kaiwen, his legs throbbing with a painful numbness as they touched the ground.

"What’s there to be afraid of? Are we not even allowed to talk about his incompetence?" Gu Kaiwen said disdainfully.

The animals held a tight perimeter, not letting a single monster through.

Lin Jingjing glanced at the battlefield. "Let’s get back in the Mechas. We can complain later."

They all nodded and boarded their Mechas.

Of their five Mechas, only Shi Feng’s was a two-seater, so Captain Li took the second seat in his cockpit.

Once inside, Captain Li glanced back at the wreckage of his Mecha on the ground, his eyes filled with sorrow and regret.

That Mecha had seen him through countless battles, and he had a deep bond with it. Now that it was just scrap, his heart ached.

Beside him, Shi Feng started up the Mecha and charged forward. He noticed Captain Li’s gaze was still fixed on the wrecked machine.

Shi Feng glanced back as well, watching the wreckage shrink in the distance until it disappeared from view.

Captain Li slumped in his seat and sighed, his whole demeanor turning somber.

Just then, Shi Feng pulled two items from his pocket and held them out: a silver chip and a bottle of Nutrient Liquid.

"Captain Li, don’t worry," Shi Feng said. "I grabbed its core chip. You can have a new Mecha built for it later."

Captain Li stared at the chip in a daze. He hadn’t expected Shi Feng to think of that.

"Here’s some Nutrient Liquid. Drink up."

Captain Li took the items from Shi Feng, opened the Nutrient Liquid, and downed it in a few gulps.

After finishing it, he was back at full strength. He stood up and said, "Let’s switch. I’ll take the pilot’s seat."

"Alright," Shi Feng nodded. He could act as support from the side.

The group chatted over Mecha Channel 9.

"We need to take out those massive mutant beasts now. If they get out of this desert, it’s all over," Lin Jingjing said, watching the colossal beasts in the distance. They were enormous, and their power was immense.

Their strength was incredible; with just a few swings of their limbs, countless other mutant beasts and humans were killed.

They were completely indiscriminate.

"They don’t have any weaknesses," Captain Li said.

If they knew of a weakness, his squadron would have already taken care of them.

"So you were waiting for us to solve the problem?" Lin Jingjing asked with a smile.

Captain Li had become quite shameless. Besides, Lin Jingjing’s spiritual power was plain for all to see—it was incredibly strong.

So, Captain Li replied bluntly, "That’s right. We were waiting for you to solve it."

"Please, everyone," he said, swallowing his pride. "I’m representing the King’s honor right now."

"I’m fighting on his behalf. This is a battle we must win."

The five fell silent. They felt like they’d been tricked.

"So Yun Yiyou was the one who sent you to the battlefield!" Shi Feng exclaimed in shock.

"That’s right. I’m the captain of his Personal Guard Team. When he needs someone to represent him, I have to step up," Captain Li confirmed with a nod.
