Chapter 702: Don’t Force Me to Hurt Her

Caden Lockwood’s eyes narrowed with confusion at the words "deep-seated grudge" said by L.

He hadn’t done anything to Evelyn Morgan, though perhaps at first he sought out the helpless Evelyn for that heart.

But over the years, hadn’t he always protected Evelyn well?

"What exactly are you trying to say?" Caden Lockwood said coldly, "Deep-seated grudge? Hah! Speak plainly!"

"I don’t like talking to people who play dumb." L’s tone was not friendly, "Caden Lockwood, you have three days. If you don’t leave Evelyn, I’ll make her life miserable in my own way. Don’t force me to hurt her!"

"L!" Caden Lockwood was anxious, "Evelyn is your sister!"

Pause for a moment, then he continued, "I admit, when I first adopted her, my intentions were not good. It was my fault, I owe her, but no harm has been done. I’ve spent all the remaining time making it up to her, treating her well. Can’t you just let her have a happy and peaceful life?"

"The one not allowing her a happy and peaceful life isn’t me, it’s you." L said sharply, emotions rising, "Caden Lockwood, you think falling in love with Evelyn changes anything? You’re not someone she can marry. Logan Shaw is the brother-in-law I favor."

"It doesn’t matter who you favor." The veins on Caden Lockwood’s temple throbbed, "The one Evelyn loves is me!"

"You’ll become the one she hates," L spoke predictively, "When she was young and reckless, she easily became attached to a man and thought that was love. Isn’t it ridiculous?"

"The fact that you say that only proves you know nothing about love." Caden Lockwood also spoke strongly, "L, I came to you today sincerely to resolve this issue."

He paused again before continuing: "I owed her when I first adopted Evelyn. But I hope you keep it a secret and don’t ruin her current life over something that hasn’t happened. I will deal with the matter concerning my mother in other ways."

"Other ways?" L sounded like he heard a ridiculous joke, "Caden Lockwood, do you think you’re a saint? Stop dreaming! I know the disgusting ways you Lockwood Family do things very well. I will absolutely not let my sister be with someone like you!"

Caden Lockwood took a deep breath, reminding himself to stay calm.

He didn’t wish to sour his relationship with L. He wanted Evelyn Morgan to be happy with him, and he certainly hoped her brother could give her the most sincere blessing.

"I will find a willing heart donor to save my mother. If I can’t find one," he paused again before continuing, "I will find one."

He believed that with enough money, someone brave enough would come forward.

"I hope you don’t find one, let your mother wait to die on the hospital bed!" L’s tone was vicious, "Caden Lockwood, it seems you are intent on being stubborn. Then remember, all of Evelyn’s future miserable life will be caused by you!"

"L," Caden Lockwood was anxious, "Evelyn..."

"I have nothing more to say." L had no intention to let Caden Lockwood finish his sentence, "If she is willing to leave you and live with Logan Shaw, I will protect her."

With those words, L rose and stepped away.

Watching L’s back, Caden Lockwood wanted to say something, but he couldn’t utter a single word.

Taking out his phone, Caden Lockwood immediately called Sean Ashton.
