Chapter 694: I Won’t Give Up the Title of Mrs. Lockwood

"I don’t need your hypocrisy!" Caden Lockwood said harshly, "Someone like you only sees family as a burden! Let me tell you, Evelyn is not my burden. She’s my wife, the person I’m going to spend my life with!"

"Will her brother agree?" James Lockwood laughed coldly, "Caden, the real hurdle between you and Evelyn Morgan is yet to come. Keeping her by your side will only end up hurting her."

"Then let’s see." Caden Lockwood spoke confidently, "I’ll make her a very happy woman, absolutely!"

After speaking, Caden Lockwood didn’t even glance at James Lockwood again and stepped out of the office.

"Your mother’s health is getting worse." James Lockwood followed up, "The doctor said she needs surgery as soon as possible."

Upon hearing James Lockwood’s words, Caden Lockwood’s dark complexion suddenly turned pale.

The surging hostility around him seemed to suddenly vanish, leaving only a heart-wrenching desolation.

Even Caden Lockwood’s eyes turned red, gripping his fists tightly with bulging veins, his teeth clenching, suppressing his roaring anger. He continued striding forward but felt his breath was blocked, like it was suffocating him.

Opening the office door, Caden Lockwood signalled to Sean Ashton, and Sean immediately left.

Caden Lockwood briskly walked to the small room.

Seeing Evelyn Morgan quietly sleeping on the bed, Caden Lockwood’s breathing finally eased again.

He gently got into bed and embraced Evelyn Morgan, feeling as if his heart was being tormented by fire.

Evelyn Morgan awoke at that moment, breathing in Caden Lockwood’s familiar scent. Without even opening her eyes, she complained discontentedly, "You woke me up."

"Husband." Evelyn Morgan continued, "Don’t be like this! Our life now is so good! There’s no reason to feel sad or disappointed, as long as we are together, we will overcome any difficulty!"
