Skill Trees Are Everywhere
Chapter 98: Everything Has Become Tasteless
Chapter 98: Chapter 98: Everything Has Become Tasteless
Seeing the expression on Su Han’s face, the Array Spirit knew he didn’t believe its words and quickly began to explain.
"You may not know, but the Reincarnation Coffin is a wondrous object between heaven and earth. Its origins are impossible to trace.
No one can describe its appearance. Even those who have seen it with their own eyes cannot recall what it looks like. Only upon seeing it again can one recognize it for what it is—the Reincarnation Coffin they once saw."
Su Han: "..."
’Are you sure you’re talking about a coffin? A coffin can be that badass?’
However, the Array Spirit’s expression didn’t seem like it was lying, so Su Han could only nod and accept the explanation.
"Alright, if that’s the case, then there’s nothing else..."
Joy appeared on the Array Spirit’s face again when it heard Su Han’s words. "Then I shall see you out..."
Before it could finish, Su Han, who had already turned to leave, whipped his head back around, his eyes fixed on it.
"You said... you’re the Array Spirit born from this ruin’s Guardian Array?"
The Array Spirit’s heart lurched in panic under Su Han’s gaze. It nodded. "Yes, I am the Array Spirit. You..."
’What’s with that look? He wouldn’t... would he?’
Recalling how this guy hadn’t even spared that huge Demon-Devouring Forest, the Array Spirit felt an inexplicable sense of dread.
"Then are you also quite proficient with Arrays?"
Array Spirit: "..."
The Array Spirit quietly sighed in relief and nodded. "I know a thing or two."
’Perfect!’
Su Han snapped his fingers and took out a Jade Scroll. "Then in a bit, I want you to try activating all the Arrays and record your understanding of them into this Jade Scroll."
The Array Spirit took the Jade Scroll, completely baffled. It had no idea what kind of stunt Su Han was trying to pull now.
After the Array Spirit took the Jade Scroll, Su Han rummaged around in his Storage Ring. He pulled out a small, potted sapling and prepared to plant it in the ground.
The Array Spirit watched, utterly bewildered. "You... What are you doing?"
"Planting a tree, of course!"
Su Han glanced at the Array Spirit, his expression making it seem like the most natural thing in the world.
’Do you think I, the Crown Prince, am the kind of person who only burns trees and never plants them?’
’I was forced to burn those trees. But when it comes to reforestation, I, the Crown Prince, am serious.’
He even planned that once he had enough influence in the future, he would definitely establish a national holiday throughout Jiuzhou—Arbor Day.
In the future, when the Beggar Gang became powerful enough, he could even launch something like an "Ant Forest" initiative.
Otherwise, if he only ever burned trees and never planted them, who knew if he’d one day face the awkward predicament of having no trees left to burn.
In reality... the Array Spirit was the one feeling awkward right now. Watching Su Han plant a tree, it was completely at a loss.
’We were just talking about Arrays, why has he suddenly started planting a tree?’
"Is... is there some special significance to you planting this tree?"
Su Han rolled his eyes. "Obviously. Weren’t all the trees in these ruins burned down? Since there aren’t any ready-made ones, I have to do it myself."
Array Spirit: "..."
Although it didn’t fully understand Su Han’s meaning, it got the gist of it: Su Han was inexplicably planting a tree because he had burned down all the trees in the ruins.
’So... he’s not completely depraved after all. At least he feels guilty about burning my trees and is trying to plant one to make up for it.’
Feeling slightly touched, the Array Spirit spoke again.
"You don’t need to be so hard on yourself. Although you burned down the Demon-Devouring Forest, there are still some survivors in these ruins."
Su Han: "..."
Forgetting all about planting, Su Han turned to the Array Spirit, his eyes gleaming.
"There are more trees? Why didn’t you say so earlier?"
Array Spirit: "..."
’You didn’t ask.’
Shoving the potted plant into the Array Spirit’s hands, Su Han urged, "Let’s go. Take me to them."
Array Spirit: "..."
For some reason, it had a very bad feeling about this.
Glancing at the sapling in its hands, the Array Spirit gave a wry expression and transported Su Han next to a tree.
Su Han shook his head. "Any others?"
The Array Spirit teleported them again. Su Han shook his head once more. "Next."
After this happened a dozen more times, they appeared next to a large tree. Seeing the glow emanating from it, a similar golden light glinted in Su Han’s eyes.
"This is the one!"
Su Han shoved the Array Spirit aside and cast three consecutive Rains of Fire. The great tree was instantly engulfed in roaring flames.
He opened his selectable Skill List. Inside, a skill lay waiting: Array Mastery (Nine-Star).
He chose to acquire it. The Nine-Star Array Mastery skill transformed into a wisp of Dao Rhyme and merged into Su Han’s Sea of Consciousness.
As a massive amount of information flooded his mind, his original three-star Array proficiency skyrocketed, instantly reaching the level of a nine-star Array Master.
Nine-star... just what level of attainment was that?
To put it in perspective, the Celestial Being realm corresponded to five-star!
After absorbing the information from the nine-star Array skill, Su Han looked at the Array Spirit with glowing eyes. "Are there any other trees in the ruins?"
Array Spirit: "..."
’He burned another one and he’s still not satisfied? He wants more?’
’I’m so sorry! I completely misunderstood you just now!’
’How could I have thought you’d had a change of heart? You’re clearly not going to rest until every last tree in my ruins is burned to a crisp!’
It nodded and teleported Su Han again. After checking dozens more trees, Su Han couldn’t find a single other Skill Tree.
After checking the last one, Su Han shook his head in disappointment. Finding three high-level skills in a single ruin was already a massive gain.
Wanting more was just being greedy.
Turning to the Array Spirit, Su Han confirmed one last time, "That’s all of them, right?"
The Array Spirit shook its head firmly. "There are no more."
"Alright then. Send me out."
Array Spirit: "..."
It looked at the sapling in its left hand, then at the Jade Scroll in its right.
"So, about planting the tree and the Array matter..."
Su Han waved his hand dismissively. "You can take your time planting the tree. My mom’s calling me home for dinner. And I don’t need that Array stuff anymore."
Array Spirit: "..."
With a look of utter confusion, before it could even ask, the Arrays within the ruins suddenly activated, and Su Han vanished from sight.
Array Spirit: "..."
F*CK!
’Are you kidding me?’
’You’re messing with me!’
’What happened to me seeing you out? You’re clearly better with Arrays than I am!’
Having acquired another skill, Su Han returned to Prince Jing’s Residence.
Before he could even step through the gates, he saw Su Xiao’Er rushing back from somewhere, a letter in hand.
"Crown Prince, a letter from the Capital Suburb!"
Su Han paused for a moment, then quickly took the letter from Su Xiao’Er.
He opened it and read the contents, a trace of joy appearing on his face.
’Finally... some progress?’
But... the joy was fleeting. Thinking about how he now possessed skills capable of wiping out a whole stack of Celestial Beings, Su Han suddenly felt that everything had become rather dull.
