Chapter 95: Royal Ancestor?
Chapter 95: Chapter 95: Royal Ancestor?
You don’t punch someone in the face, and you don’t air their dirty laundry. That’s just common decency.
Always aim for the face, and always hit below the belt. The three members of the Demon Race had always thought only demons like themselves were so shameless.
But now...
Looking at Feng Muxi, they exchanged a glance. All three demons could read the thought in each other’s eyes: ’Damn it, so even a righteous-looking guy like you has betrayed the revolution!’
And yet, even though Feng Muxi had metaphorically slapped their faces and exposed their greatest shame, they couldn’t argue back.
Because... he was telling the truth.
Anyone with a lick of sense knew exactly how their master had died back then—he had completely and utterly brought it on himself.
Of all the things to pick up, he just had to go and pick up that coffin.
And it might have been fine if he’d just picked up the coffin and stored it away as a treasure. The problem was... he shouldn’t have...
’Forget it. Let’s not talk about it.’
That incident is the shame of the Demon Race. It’s humiliating to even mention it... ah, no! Humiliating for a demon.
"Junior, you had better think this through. You should be well aware of how important the... the Reincarnation Coffin is to our Demon Race..."
Feng Muxi chuckled and cut him off. "That’s exactly why I have to take it."
The Illusion Demon: "..."
’Damn it, you have no intention of negotiating at all!’
’What do we do?’
’Should we fight?’
’If we fight and win, that’s one thing. We could just snatch the... Reincarnation Coffin and run. Once we’re back at the Demon Race’s main camp, we’ll have nothing to fear.’
’But... the real question is, can we actually win?’
’It’s true that I’m a Celestial Being, and he’s just a junior at the Divine Sea Realm.’
’But the problem is, he has a Taoist Scripture!’
’If we really fight, the three of us combined might just be serving ourselves up on a platter for him!’
’Damn it! What the hell is that ugly freak doing? Why hasn’t she brought reinforcements yet?’
’Didn’t we agree she’d be the lookout and come support us once we got it?’
’We haven’t gotten it, but now our lives are on the line! Where are our reinforcements?’
’Never mind the reinforcements, where’s the ugly freak herself? Where the hell did she die?!’
Just as the Illusion Demon was cursing inwardly...
"Damn it all! How dare two juniors be so arrogant! Even if you have a Taoist Scripture, you’re only in the Divine Sea Realm. How many times can you possibly use it?"
"Today, I’m going to teach you a lesson about getting too big for your britches!"
Before the Celestial Being from the Illusion Demon clan could say a word to stop him, the Demon Devourer charged headfirst at Feng Muxi.
Feng Muxi seemed surprised that the demon would be so reckless, charging in to fight head-on despite knowing he possessed the Taoist Scripture.
Caught off guard, Feng Muxi was nearly sent flying by the Demon Devourer’s charge.
Luckily, Miss Feng proved reliable in the clutch. The bronze mirror in her hand shot through the air, blocking the attack in front of Feng Muxi.
"BOOM!"
A deafening crash resounded, the sound wave traveling for a hundred li unimpeded.
After the impact, the Demon Devourer was sent flying backward even faster than he had charged in.
He crashed to the ground, his head and face covered in blood.
"What the hell... the Yin Yang Mirror! Don’t tell me you two Dao Race juniors stole your clan’s treasures and ran off to elope?"
"Has the Dao Race gone insane, entrusting treasures like these to two juniors at the Divine Sea Realm?"
Miss Feng: "..."
Feng Muxi: "..."
Seeing the Demon Devourer’s reckless accusations, the Feng siblings were thoroughly enraged.
Feng Muxi upended a bottle of Elixirs into his mouth as if they were worthless, swallowing them with a loud CRUNCH. The pallor on his over-exhausted face gave way to a hint of color, though he still looked somewhat weak.
’At a time like this... if only I had a bottle of Su’s Super Grade Elixirs, how great would that be?’
He even had a moment to pine for Su Han’s Super Grade Elixirs. After waiting a few more breaths to recover some strength, Feng Muxi cradled the Ancient Book and gently turned a page with his right hand.
"Trap!"
Dao Patterns manifested, forming a golden cage that imprisoned the three demons.
Miss Feng coordinated perfectly. Powered by her Spiritual Power, the Yin Yang Mirror in her hand shot out streaks of azure light. While each strike wasn’t enough to kill them instantly, it was more than enough to make the three demons howl in pain as their life force was rapidly depleted.
"Refine!"
He turned another page of the Ancient Book. The golden cage constricted, and a power of cosmic law seemed poised to refine the three demons to death within it.
Saying nothing, Miss Feng relentlessly activated the bronze mirror to wound the demons.
In the time it takes to drink a cup of tea, the three Celestial Human Realm demons were on the brink of death at the hands of two Divine Sea Realm juniors, their lives hanging by a thread.
Just then, all five of them heard the sound of something tearing through the air.
They instinctively turned to look. A black-clad Su Han, who had been several li away just a moment before, was now standing right in front of them.
Their hands stopped moving instinctively. The Feng siblings looked at Su Han, their mouths agape.
Before they could figure out how to express their shock at Su Han’s dramatic entrance, the next moment, two... oh, no, five mouths dropped open even wider.
"Huh? Are you guys... playing a game of ’whoever opens their mouth widest eats the most’?"
The two humans and three demons: "..."
’What the hell was that? Is that even a real game? Who invented it? Why have we never heard of it?’
However, they all chose to selectively ignore Su Han’s question and didn’t answer.
They stared dumbfounded at Su Han... and at the woman in black who had appeared behind him at some unknown moment. The two humans and three demons were in a state of utter shock.
Su Han’s entrance had been outrageous enough, covering ten li in a single step like Instant Teleportation. It was horrifying.
But this person beside him... she seemed to have appeared directly out of thin air, without the slightest warning.
’We were just having a fight. How did we inexplicably attract two freakishly powerful beings?’
’And one of them... looked so familiar.’
’Isn’t that Crown Prince Su Han?’
But then, he immediately dismissed the thought.
’I can’t see through this person’s power at all. My friend Su is mysterious, sure, but at least I can gauge his cultivation realm.’
’And especially that entrance... that’s definitely not something a Cultivator at the Spiritual Sea Realm, like Su Han, should be capable of!’
"You... you..."
Feng Muxi opened his mouth, looking at Su Han. "Sir... do you have any connection to the Jing Country’s royal family?"
Su Han gave Feng Muxi a strange look, then glanced down at his own clothes.
’Nothing’s wrong. I haven’t transformed... or disguised myself. How could he not recognize me?’
"Jing Country... that’s my family’s."
"Hoo~"
Feng Muxi took a deep breath. "No wonder."
He thought of the striking resemblance between Su Han and Prince Jing, then looked at this person before him who was a spitting image of Su Han.
Feng Muxi lowered his head, bowed deeply, and paid his respects.
"This junior, Feng Muxi, is a good friend of your descendant, Su Han. You... must be the Royal Ancestor, I presume?"
Su Han: "...???"
Upon seeing Feng Muxi’s actions and hearing his words, Su Han’s expression...
...turned into this: o((⊙﹏⊙))o
’When... did I become my own ancestor?’
’Did the script change? Why didn’t anyone tell me!’
’This is escalating a little too quickly.’
Still utterly baffled, Su Han looked at Feng Muxi with an equally baffled expression. "I am Su Han. Feng, don’t you recognize me?"
Feng Muxi: "..."
He raised his head and looked at Su Han for a long time. Finding that he still couldn’t see through this person in the slightest, a helpless, wry expression appeared on his face.
"Senior, you and Su are truly worthy of being... ancestor and descendant. You both love to joke so much."
’You’re Su Han?’
’What a joke. That entrance you just made is clearly a technique that only a great master above the Creation Realm who has grasped cosmic law could possibly use, alright?’
’Su Han?’
’How old is he!’
’I heard long ago that the Jing Country’s royal family had an ancestor of peerless genius, but for some unknown reason, he met an early demise.’
’Now it seems... the truth of that news is somewhat questionable.’
