Chapter 92: Leniency for Confession

“Su Yi.”

A strange expression appeared on the Princess Consort’s face. “You also share the surname Su, Miss?”

Miss Su nodded at the Princess Consort with a faint smile.

Seeing the doubt on the Princess Consort’s face, Su Han hurriedly pointed at his own mouth and added, “She…”

The Princess Consort looked at her son, then at Miss Su, who hadn’t made a single sound since they met, and nodded in understanding. A flash of pity crossed her eyes. However, as her gaze swept across Miss Su’s exceptionally flat chest, that pity gradually faded away.

“Miss Su, will you be a guest at the Prince’s Residence?”

Su Han waited for her to nod before saying, “She’s going to stay at the Prince’s Residence for a while.”

Prince Jing interjected, “So… since we’re all heading back to Prince Jing’s Residence anyway, why are we standing here chatting under the scorching sun?”

Su Han was speechless.

The Princess Consort was equally silent.

Well, his words made a lot of sense. Thus, the group made their way back to the residence.

An hour later, at Prince Jing’s Residence.

After arranging for Miss Su to stay in his own courtyard, right next door to him, Su Han went alone to the courtyard of Prince Jing and the Princess Consort. Originally, the Princess Consort had planned to prepare a separate courtyard for Miss Su, but the girl seemed to prefer being Su Han’s neighbor. As for Su Han… he didn’t feel at ease leaving a ticking time bomb—one that even Celestial Punishment might not be able to destroy—anywhere else, so he naturally let her move in next door.

In the courtyard, Su Han, Prince Jing, and the Princess Consort sat around a stone table.

“How did the ruins feel?” Prince Jing steeped the tea in the teapot three times, poured a cup for himself, the Princess Consort, and Su Han, then picked up his own cup and took a gentle sip before looking at his son. “Did it feel just like coming home?”

Su Han remained speechless. Even if his father hadn’t said anything, he was going to ask him the same thing.

“The ruins were just alright. Even though the entire place was a forest made up of tentacle monsters called Demon-Devouring Trees, and even though flying into the air would trigger attacks from Demon Beasts in the Immortal Platform Realm, Celestial Human Realm, or even the Creation Realm… none of it was a big deal.”

Prince Jing stared at him. “Demon-Devouring Trees?”

Su Han nodded.

“Immortal Platform Realm? Celestial Human Realm? Demon Beasts? And the Creation Realm?”

Su Han nodded again.

“Impossible!” Prince Jing flatly denied it. “There’s clearly nothing in those ruins! Going in is as freeing as returning to your own home. You can just casually take whatever catches your eye. There’s no danger at all!”

Su Han was speechless once more. He looked up at the sky and sighed melancholically. “So, even when it’s the exact same ruin, people’s experiences just can’t be compared.”

“Are you telling the truth?”

Su Han nodded.

Prince Jing fell silent.

Before he could speak, the Princess Consort beside him went on the offensive. “I told you not to let him go to some ruins. There wasn’t anything good in there anyway, yet you insisted that a good man should aspire to travel the four corners of the world! ‘Aspire to travel the four corners’—you’ve been holed up here in Lingzhou City for over a decade, and I haven’t seen you go anywhere!”

Hearing the Princess Consort’s complaints, Prince Jing completely ignored the melancholy on Su Han’s face and turned to look at her. “But… didn’t you also say earlier that the ruins weren’t dangerous?”

The Princess Consort glared. “But my Little Han encountered danger this time.”

“That’s not my fault.”

“But he entered the ruins using your map.”

Prince Jing’s mouth twitched. “Speaking of the map, you’ve raised your son for sixteen years. Didn’t you know he has no sense of direction?”

The Princess Consort fired back, “You knew? You knew, yet you still gave him the map?”

“I thought he would take Su Xiao’Er with him!”

“Then when you realized he didn’t take Su Xiao’Er, why didn’t you go look for him in the ruins over those seven or eight days?”

Prince Jing rolled his eyes. “Weren’t you completely unconcerned these past few days as well?”

The Princess Consort retorted, “What was there to worry about? I put that ring on his finger on his first birthday. What do I have to worry about?”

Prince Jing argued back, “Well, I also gave him that lock to wear as a longevity lock!”

The Princess Consort raised a hand and pointed at the bell on Su Han’s left wrist. “I tied that bell to his wrist, too.”

“And I already taught him the ultimate technique I comprehended from that Brick!”

“The Brick?”

He would have been better off not saying anything. As soon as he did, the Princess Consort’s eyes widened even more. “You knew perfectly well that my Little Han has been practicing swordplay lately, yet you taught him how to smash people with a Brick? Why didn’t you give him the Great Treasure Sword that our ancestor picked up back in the day?”

“Wouldn’t giving him that sword just be a decorative prop?”

The argument reached a stalemate, and the situation was starting to look unfavorable for him.

The Princess Consort’s eyes turned red. “You’re yelling at me!”

Prince Jing was stunned. His aggressive expression instantly deflated. “I wasn’t, I was just stating the facts.”

“You are yelling at me!”

“I am not!”

“You are!”

“I…” Prince Jing’s face contorted in misery. “I was wrong.”

“Hmph! Where were you wrong?!”

“I… I was wrong about everything.”

The Princess Consort’s eyes grew even redder. “So you’re saying that marrying me was also a mistake? You really don’t like me anymore. Do you have someone else on the side?”

Prince Jing was entirely speechless before stammering, “I… whatever you say I did wrong, then I was wrong.”

“You were wrong about everything!”

“Yes! Yes! I was wrong about everything!”

“Aha! You admit it now! You just think marrying me was a mistake!”

“How would I dare?!”

“You just don’t dare, but that doesn’t mean you don’t want to, right?”

“I don’t…”

Prince Jing had a deeply suffering look on his face. His brain spun rapidly before he looked at Su Han, flashing a plea for help. “Weren’t we talking about Han encountering danger in the ruins?”

The Princess Consort looked at Su Han, winking at him with a hint of smugness. “That’s right, weren’t we talking about our Little Han encountering danger in the ruins?”

Su Han was completely speechless.

After speaking, Prince Jing and the Princess Consort exchanged a glance, then simultaneously dropped their gazes onto Su Han.

“So… how could you possibly have been in any danger in the ruins?”

A breath caught in Su Han’s throat; it took him a long moment to finally swallow his frustration. “Did I… ever say I encountered danger?”

“Did you not?”

“Did I?”

“I did not! What I said was… none of it was a big deal.”

Prince Jing shot him a sideways glance. “If you didn’t encounter any danger, then what was the point of telling us all this?”

Su Han had no words left.

Originally, he had planned to beat around the bush and make some indirect inquiries. Without hurting his father and mother’s pride, and without damaging the majesty of their ancestor, the founding emperor, he wanted to see if he could extract some clues about the lost treasures from the ruins.

But now… let alone being tactful, let alone beating around the bush… he hadn’t even opened his mouth, yet his father and mother had already spilled the evidence of their own crimes like beans from a jar.

So… since they had already confessed so leniently, what else could he possibly say? Naturally, he was just going to turn the page and move past this entire incident!

Except… the ring!

In the ruins, the Array Spirit didn’t seem to mention anything about a ring. Yet just now, his mother mentioned the ring she put on his hand during his first birthday.

Subconsciously, Su Han connected this to Liu Ming, who had exploded and died after using True Sight Magic to appraise the ring on Su Han’s hand. He wondered if this ring actually held some sort of secret.

P.S. I heard there’s a thing called recommendation tickets that can enhance the power of the Eye of Truth to see through the ring’s secrets.

P.S. 2: Book recommendation, “The Great Real Estate Player,” a very good book, a masterpiece in the real estate genre.
