Skill Trees Are Everywhere
Chapter 90: Su Xiaosan
Chapter 90: Chapter 90: Su Xiaosan
As Su Han watched, a figure materialized in the void.
Black clothes, black hair, black eyes.
Seeing the young woman in black before him, Su Han first froze, then his heart clenched.
"Miss, why are you following me?"
He never imagined that this mysterious woman—the one he’d placed in a coffin only for her to come back to life—had been following him all along.
What made him most wary was that she seemed to have been following him in secret, yet he... had only just discovered it.
’The implications were terrifying!’
’Who is she?’
’How could she evade my senses?’
’Why is she following me for no reason?’
’I didn’t do anything to provoke her. I collected her body and dug her grave. If I don’t get credit for a good deed, I should at least get points for the effort!’
The woman looked at Su Han, her lips twitching, but she made no sound.
She stepped forward, treading on the void as if it were solid ground. Step by step, she approached Su Han until she stood right beside him.
Only when he saw the woman walk through the air to his side did Su Han realize... this woman was a cultivator, and one above the Immortal Platform Realm at that.
More importantly, he belatedly realized he had overlooked something crucial—from the very beginning, he had never been able to see through her cultivation level...
An expert suspected to be in the Creation Realm was standing right beside him, her intentions unclear.
Almost instinctively, Su Han’s figure flashed, and he instantly teleported to the maximum range of his Divine Sense—ten li away.
Watching Su Han abruptly appear ten li away, the woman’s gaze remained calm.
She lifted her foot and once again trod upon the void, walking forward step by step.
She gave chase, and Su Han fled.
In this game of cat and mouse, no matter how hard Su Han ran, she easily caught up to him every time.
The scene was strikingly similar to the one back in the ruins when Su Han had been tailing the illusory Array Spirit. The roles were now reversed, but the situation felt identical.
After this happened a dozen more times, Su Han accepted his inescapable fate.
He stopped and landed on the ground.
Since Su Han had stopped, the woman descended from the sky, step by step, until she stood before him.
"What... what on earth do you want? I haven’t done anything to provoke you!"
Staring at the woman’s flawless face, now just inches away, Su Han was on the verge of tears.
’Why... how did this woman inexplicably latch onto me?’
’If she were hostile, it’d be simple. I’d just toss a Celestial Punishment her way. I wouldn’t care if her death was real or fake, if she was resurrected for real or not, or if she’s human, ghost, god, or Demon now. Under the Celestial Punishment, nothing would be left but a pile of ash.’
’But... she hasn’t shown any malice. She doesn’t seem to want to harm me in the slightest.’
’So... why in the world is she following me?’
The woman glanced at the ground, her gaze lingering on Su Han’s hands for a moment. She then looked up into his eyes, pointed to herself, and then pointed to him.
Su Han thought for a moment before asking tentatively, "You... want to follow me?"
The woman blinked and gave a slight nod.
Su Han: "..."
’But why? What’s the point of following me? What... what could you possibly gain?’
"Why do you want to follow me?"
The woman looked up, met Su Han’s eyes, and shook her head gently.
"You can’t say?"
The woman shook her head.
"You don’t know?"
She shook her head.
Su Han: "..."
’This is... completely impossible! We can’t communicate at all!’
"You... can’t talk?"
Still, she shook her head.
Su Han: "..."
’So, does shaking your head mean you *can* talk, or that you *can’t* talk?’
’This head-nodding, head-shaking routine is a damn nightmare. Who can understand this?!’
*SIGH...*
Taking a deep breath, Su Han shook his head in resignation.
"If you want to follow me, then follow me."
’What choice do I have?’
’I can’t even see through her realm. She’s clearly an expert at least at the Creation Realm.’
’I have no idea why this master is following me, but if she’s determined, there’s no way I can escape.’
’I can’t just use my ultimate move over something like this, can I?’
’Since I can’t escape, it’s better to have her out in the open than following me in secret.’
Seeing Su Han agree, the woman nodded lightly.
Su Han sighed again. "I’ll just assume you can’t talk."
The woman glanced at him and blinked.
Su Han: "...Do you have a name? If you’re going to follow me, I need to know what to call you, right?"
The woman thought for a moment, then shook her head.
"No name?"
A glint flashed in Su Han’s eyes, which the woman found baffling, but she nodded nonetheless.
"How can a person not have a name? Don’t tell me you don’t remember what your name is?
You... have amnesia?"
A flash of inspiration struck him. Su Han felt he had discovered the truth of the matter.
’She has amnesia. She doesn’t remember anything from her past, which is why she’s following me.’
’After all... the moment she opened her eyes, she was in my arms. I was the first person she saw.’
’I’ve heard that some creatures born from eggs imprint on the first living thing they see after hatching, thinking it’s their mother.’
’Although she’s a person, animal instincts are all similar.’
’She doesn’t remember her past, I was the first person she saw when she woke up, so she feels a sense of closeness to me and wants to follow me.’
’This... seems to make perfect sense.’
At this thought, the excited light in Su Han’s eyes grew even brighter.
"Since you don’t remember your name, then... how about I give you one?"
Before the woman could react, Su Han continued, "Everyone needs a name. Otherwise, what would I call you?
Don’t worry, my naming skill proficiency is max level."
The woman blinked, watching him...
"If you don’t object, I’ll take that as a yes."
Su Han glanced at the woman, stroking his chin in thought for a moment.
"Since you don’t remember your name, you can’t use your original surname. So why don’t you just take my surname for now?"
Speaking of which, Su Han suddenly remembered he hadn’t introduced himself yet.
"Oh, right. My name is Su Han.
You’ll take my surname, so from now on, you’ll also be a ’Su’."
After the introduction, Su Han continued, "I have a... good friend, whom I also named. It’s a really great name—Su Xiao’Er.
You came along after him, so for your name... what do you think of Su Xiaosan?
It has a nice ring to it, doesn’t it!"
The woman: "..."
She blinked, and then blinked again. For the first time... an expression appeared on her face. It was a look of being utterly dumbfounded.
"So? You think it sounds great too, right? Su Xiaosan... this is the absolute pinnacle of my naming ability. I’ll never top this in my entire life."
The woman: "..."
Her lips moved. After a long hesitation, the woman managed to utter a single word, or rather... a single syllable.
"Yi..."
RUMBLE—
Hearing the syllable escape the woman’s lips, Su Han froze. He was just about to ask, ’You can speak?’ when a sudden clap of thunder exploded overhead.
He instinctively looked up and saw that the sky had, at some point, become filled with purple clouds. Lightning surged within them, emanating a tyrannical aura of utter destruction.
His brows furrowed slightly. Staring at the purple thunderclouds, Su Han’s eyes filled with confusion.
’My Celestial Punishment Skill has a detailed explanation of lightning... but there’s nothing in there about a situation like this!’
"Hmph!"
Just as Su Han was puzzling over it, he heard a soft snort from beside him.
In the sky, lightning flashed and the purple clouds churned, growing thicker and denser. The purple gradually shifted to a dark gray.
RUMBLE—
SPLASH!
A dozen breaths later, the dark clouds seemed unable to bear the weight any longer, and raindrops the size of beans began to fall.
Su Han: "..."
’Son of a bitch!’
P.S. It’s the launch week, the last week before the novel goes pay-to-read! I’m throwing a tantrum on the floor and acting cute, begging for recommendation tickets! If I don’t get any, I’m gonna start whimpering~
