Chapter 86: Chapter 86: Do You Have a Lingzhou Household Registration?

Just as the woman came to the conclusion that Su Han might be implying she wasn’t human, Su Han simply smiled.

"You... fall under the ’incredibly ugly’ type!"

The woman: "..."

Her face was a mask of pure, unadulterated confusion.

’Who am I?’

’Where am I?’

’What am I supposed to be doing?’

’So you beat around the bush this whole time just to call me ugly?’

’Seriously... how incredibly bored must you be?’

"THWACK!"

Just as the woman was questioning her very existence, a Brick came flying through the air and smashed into the back of her head.

Causality Technique: Brick. Companion Technique: Let the Brick Fly for a While—the Prince Jing Flying Brick. It never missed.

It came with a one-hour Dumbing Strike effect.

Her mind went blank, and the woman felt as if a hazy gloom had descended over the sky before her.

She was completely muddled. It felt as if her brain was full of things, but she couldn’t organize a single thought. She was in a state where her brain simply wasn’t firing on all cylinders.

"Tell me yourself, aren’t you just incredibly ugly?"

Su Han’s voice caught the woman’s attention.

Lifting her head, the woman stared at Su Han with her crimson eyes. "You dare say I’m ugly?"

Su Han shrugged. "I’m just stating a fact."

"Everyone who dared to call me ugly has become my dinner."

Su Han gave her a surprised look. "You eat people?"

The woman stuck out her tongue and licked the corner of her mouth. "Human flesh... is delicious."

"So you really aren’t human!"

The woman let out a dry laugh. "Do you take me for a fool? I would never tell you that I’m a Succubus."

Su Han: "..."

’So, just how smart do you think you can be while under the Dumbing Strike?’

It was just that the effects of the Dumbing Strike were random, and he hadn’t expected it to be so potent against this incredibly ugly creature who called herself a Succubus.

"Right, you won’t tell me your identity as a Succubus, and you won’t tell me what a Succubus is."

The woman abruptly lifted her head, glaring fiercely at Su Han. "How dare you call the great Demon Charm Race a ’thing’?"

"So a Succubus isn’t a thing?"

The woman nodded. "The Succubus Race is a branch of the great Demon Race. Everyone in our race, whether male or female, is strikingly handsome or beautiful.

We Succubi are exceptionally skilled in Charm Magic. My favorite thing to do is eat those I’ve bewitched... bite by bite..."

Su Han: "...H-hold on a second."

The woman, who had been recounting her exploits of eating people, lifted her head and gave Su Han a puzzled look.

Su Han stared at the woman in disbelief. "You said... everyone in your Succubus Race, whether male or female, is strikingly handsome or beautiful?"

The woman nodded, her expression full of pride.

Su Han: "...Then is your gender neither male nor female?"

The woman: "..."

"Or... maybe you’re not a Succubus at all? Are you a husky that’s infiltrated a pack of wolves?"

The woman: "..."

Seeing the serious expression on Su Han’s face, the woman flew into a rage.

"You dare insult the great Succubi! I’m going to eat you!"

Su Han dodged the woman’s ferocious lunge, his expression perfectly calm and composed.

"You can’t even beat me, you can’t even catch me, and you still think you can eat me?"

"Hmph!"

The woman snorted coldly. "If I weren’t on a mission and forced to merge with this unsuitable body, I could definitely eat you after I transform."

"A mission?"

Su Han smiled contemptuously. "Stop flattering yourself. You’re just making up an excuse because you know you can’t beat me."

A flash of black energy flickered across the woman’s face. "You dare doubt the great Succubus Race."

The disbelief on Su Han’s face intensified. "Then why don’t you prove it and tell me what this mission is? If you really are on a mission, I can give you a chance to finish it before you come back to fight me."

"No!"

The woman shook her head. "The Ancestor gave orders. Even if I die, I cannot reveal anything about the sev—"

"BOOM!"

She was only halfway through her sentence when her body suddenly exploded into a mist of blood.

"Holy crap!"

Using Moon Shadow Step, his body blurred into an afterimage, dodging the force of the blast and the splattering blood mist. Su Han stared at the patch of blood-soaked earth on the ground, lost in thought.

’The Dumbing Strike that comes with the Flying Brick Skill seems surprisingly effective on this Succubus. It might not be a bad method for interrogation in the future.’

’Then again, I can’t rule out the possibility that her IQ wasn’t high to begin with, or that she was just uniquely susceptible to the Dumbing Strike for some reason.’

’After all... it is the Demon Race, right? According to the legends, aren’t they all just muscle-bound brutes whose brains aren’t firing on all cylinders?’

Shaking his head, he pushed aside these trivial thoughts and focused on what the woman had said right before she exploded.

’She said her Ancestor had ordered her not to reveal anything about "sev—" even if it meant death.’

’Seven what? The woman didn’t get to finish.’

’But the fact that she exploded before she could finish a single sentence clearly meant there was some kind of mechanism in her body to prevent her from revealing certain secrets.’

’And that secret... must be related to whatever words were supposed to follow "sev—".’

’Seven what, though?’

There were too few clues to even begin to guess.

But at least he knew one thing—there were at least two branches of the Demon Race in Lingzhou City: the Night Demons and the Succubus Race. As for whether there were any other branches, that was impossible to know for now.

And the reason they had appeared in Lingzhou City seemed to be for something specific inside some ruins.

Su Han didn’t know what that thing was, but its name, or some other aspect of it, was definitely related to the number seven.

He sorted through all the known clues, only to arrive at a conclusion that was, in practice, completely useless.

Su Han looked up at the sky, unable to help feeling a little dejected.

’So... after all that work, I still basically know nothing!’

Just as Su Han looked up at the sky...

"RUMBLE~"

The ground beneath his feet began to shake violently. Su Han stumbled and nearly fell, but he quickly steadied himself and flew up into the air.

Hovering in mid-air and looking down, Su Han couldn’t help but let his jaw drop.

Right where he had been standing, the earth split and buckled. A great mountain was forcibly squeezed out of the void, landing squarely where the small grove had been.

As soon as the mountain landed, it grew with impossible speed, instantly stretching two hundred and fifty miles out from Lingzhou City and forming a mountain range that spanned hundreds of miles.

The entire process lasted only a few breaths. The whole time, Su Han could only watch, completely dumbfounded, with no idea what was going on.

Where there had once been a small grove, a great mountain had just squeezed itself out of the void, forcibly taking root just outside of Lingzhou City.

Faced with such a bizarre phenomenon, Su Han’s mind couldn’t help but race.

’After all... if you want to take root on Lingzhou’s territory, did you ask for my permission first? I’m the landlord here, you know.’

’How familiar are you with the basic laws a mountain must understand before taking root in Lingzhou?’

’Even if you are a mountain, you still have to follow the rules, right?’

’Do you have a Lingzhou residence permit?’

’Have you applied for your permit to reside in Lingzhou?’

’Have you paid taxes or made social security contributions in Lingzhou for five consecutive years?’

’You have none of that, so did I say you could take root here? Are you just going to shamelessly plant yourself here like this?’

His mind racing with these absurd thoughts, Su Han flew toward the mountain, his curiosity piqued.

After flying for nearly a hundred miles, Su Han suddenly stopped. A look of delight appeared on his face as he gazed at a "small tree" in the mountains, one so thick it would take a person to wrap their arms around it.

This "small tree" shimmered with a golden light, as if it were silently screaming at Su Han—’Come on! Come and burn me! If you’ve got what it takes, then burn me! Burn me down, and all my inheritance will be yours!’

How could Su Han possibly refuse such a shameless invitation?

Without a shred of hesitation, Su Han controlled his Flying Shoes and flew toward the Skill Tree’s location.

And then...

"Huh... Why is there a person lying here?"
