Chapter 109: Chapter 109: There Are No Bloodline Fruits Here

The Ancestor gave Su Han a strange look.

"Four-zero-four? What’s that?"

Su Han’s breath caught in his throat. Seeing the confused light flickering in the Ancestor’s mechanical eyes, he didn’t know how to explain.

"404 is a number. It refers to Divine Beast number four hundred and four—the River Crab Divine Beast."

"The River Crab Divine Beast?"

The Ancestor thought for a moment, then shook his head. "Never heard of a Divine Beast species like that. How does it compare to Divine Dragons and phoenixes?

Back in my day, I..."

Halfway through his sentence, the Ancestor’s voice came to an abrupt halt.

Su Han: "..."

’Is there even a comparison?’

"The River Crab Divine Beast is so terrifying... forget Divine Dragons and phoenixes, even if you put all the other legendary Divine Beasts and Holy Beasts together, it could swallow them all in one bite."

The Ancestor thought for a moment and nodded. "That does sound powerful. It almost sounds like it could catch up to..."

He stopped mid-sentence again, gave Su Han a puzzled look, and belatedly asked, "I was just saying that bastard wanted to eat me while I was still warm. What does that have to do with this Divine Beast you’re talking about?"

Su Han: "...While... you were still warm... did he eat you?"

The Ancestor retorted, "What else?"

Su Han: "..."

’Isn’t the phrase "while it’s still warm" usually followed by a word that would easily get censored?’

’Or perhaps "while it’s still warm" is a complete thought on its own?’

Seeing Su Han’s silence, the Ancestor shook his head.

"That bastard actually wanted to eat me while I was still warm. How could I let that happen?

I may have died a frustrating death, but I’m no pushover.

Before he could devour my corpse and inherit most of my power, I turned myself to dust. Didn’t even leave a speck for him."

Su Han: "..."

’Why is it that when you tell such a tragic story, I feel like there’s this inexplicable sense of pride hidden in it?’

’So... you died a frustrating death, and after dying, someone almost ate your corpse while it was still warm. You weren’t eaten, but you ended up turning into dust anyway.’

’What... are you so proud of?’

Ignoring Su Han’s muttering, the Ancestor continued, "After I turned to dust, the Imperial Mausoleum’s Array Restriction was fully activated.

Outsiders couldn’t get in, and those inside couldn’t get out. Even with his Celestial Being-level strength, that bastard Su Xiaoqi could only be trapped inside my Imperial Mausoleum to slowly await his death."

At this point, as if he had just realized something, the Ancestor looked at Su Han belatedly and asked.

"By the way, good grandson, how did you get into my Imperial Mausoleum?"

This descendant of his was only at the Spirit Platform Realm. Not even a Celestial Being could enter his mausoleum.

Su Han: "..."

’I thought you just didn’t care about such a minor detail. Turns out... you’re only just now realizing it, aren’t you?’

The Ancestor had so many ridiculous points that Su Han found himself at a loss for where to even begin his complaints.

"Um... didn’t you bury a copy of the Tomb Raider Notes in the Emperor’s Palace? I found the method to enter the Imperial Mausoleum in what you wrote."

"Is that so?"

The Ancestor gave Su Han a puzzled look, a hint of recollection in his eyes.

’Did I write the way into the Imperial Mausoleum in those notes?’

’I don’t think... I did.’

’No, wait, I think I actually did.’

’Ah, whatever. I’m not going to think about it. Can’t remember clearly.’

Nodding and accepting Su Han’s explanation, the Ancestor asked again, "Then what are you doing in my Imperial Mausoleum?"

Su Han looked at him. "You didn’t finish what you were saying last time, did you?"

"Didn’t finish?"

The Ancestor looked at Su Han. "I did finish. Go to the border of the Central State, next to the Eastern Divine Continent, find Void Mountain, enter the Gorge, and you’ll find the place where I used to herd cattle."

Su Han: "...Right. So, I just wanted to ask, is Void Mountain the name of the mountain, or is it a descriptor?

And does ’the Gorge’ refer to a secluded valley, or is the valley actually named ’the Gorge’?"

The Ancestor thought for a moment. "That was from my childhood. I can’t quite remember the mountain’s real name. Anyway, everyone around there called it Void Mountain. Once you get there, just ask around and you’ll find out."

’Of course!’

’I should have guessed. The Ancestor is just this unreliable.’

"Then, what about the Emperor’s Blood?"

Earlier, that Su Xiaoqi had clearly tried to harm him, but before the black energy could even wrap around him, it was dissolved by a purple light that rose from his body.

Su Xiaoqi himself suffered a powerful backlash. All of this... seemed to be related to the Emperor’s Blood he mentioned.

The Ancestor blinked. "The Emperor’s Blood is the imperial bloodline that I passed down!

That bastard Su Xiaoqi is an idiot. He actually tried to burn a Human Soul and offer it to a Demon Thought to cast a Divine Soul curse on you.

He didn’t even stop to think. As my descendant, how could you not have the imperial bloodline?

If I didn’t have Emperor’s Blood flowing through my veins, I would have had to be crazy to establish a kingdom and declare myself Emperor back then!

Using a Human Soul sacrifice to try and curse an Emperor’s bloodline... If your bloodline weren’t still dormant, the backlash would have been enough to obliterate his soul."

Su Han: "..."

’What you’re saying... actually seems to make a lot of sense.’

"Oh, right."

Su Han opened his mouth, just about to ask something, but the Ancestor’s sudden, startling outburst made him swallow the words on the tip of his tongue.

"You’re only at the Spirit Platform Realm right now. It’s too difficult to awaken your bloodline. Good thing I left a little something behind in my early years."

With that, he glanced at Su Han and beckoned. "Good grandson, come with me. I have something good saved for you here."

Su Han watched the Ancestor’s retreating back with suspicion. ’This unreliable Ancestor of mine doesn’t seem like the type to leave anything good behind for me.’

He followed, half-believing and half-doubting. The Ancestor led him out of the main tomb chamber, down a long path, and around a bend, stopping beside a large tree.

Staring at the large tree, which was not the Skill Tree, Su Han couldn’t help but feel a little puzzled. ’This is the good thing the Ancestor left for me? It’s not even glowing.’

Before he could speak, the Ancestor stood by the tree and scanned the surroundings. When he saw a stone tablet standing behind the tree, two bright lights flashed in his mechanical eyes.

"Found it!"

He grabbed Su Han’s hand and ran behind the tree. Pointing at the stone tablet, the Ancestor said, "Good grandson, look! This is the good thing I left for the descendant who inherited my Emperor’s Blood."

Following the Ancestor’s finger, Su Han’s eyes fell upon the seven large words on the stone tablet: "There is no Bloodline Fruit here."

Su Han: "..."

’What kind of... trick is this? Is this like that classic "no three hundred taels of silver buried here" routine?’

"Hehe! The Bloodline Fruit! Whether you can awaken our ancestral Emperor’s Blood all depends on this fruit that I personally buried back in the day!"

As he spoke, the Ancestor’s mechanical arm gripped the stone tablet and, with a slight exertion of force, pulled it straight out of the ground.

His hands transformed into two iron shovels, and the Ancestor began digging at the soil beneath where the tablet had been.
