Six Months Contract With The Mafia God
Chapter 328: Bundle Her Out. I’ll Deal With Her Later
POV: DANTE
Dimitri’s eyes scanned the warehouse.
"Lower your weapons," Dimitri said, his voice cutting through the chaos "You can walk out of here alive, or you can die here. Choose now."
The implicit message was clear: surrender or die, but either way, you’re not winning this.
Dante’s security personnel didn’t need to be told twice.
They lowered their weapons. They moved toward the exits. They evacuated, understanding that fighting Dimitri Valentino was a death sentence they weren’t willing to accept.
Within sixty seconds, more than a dozen of Dante’s men had abandoned the warehouse.
Only Luca remained beside Dante.
Only Luca understood that loyalty meant something different than survival.
Dimitri moved deeper into the warehouse, his steps deliberate and unhurried. There was no rush. He had all the time he needed. Dante had nowhere to go.
"Well," Dimitri said, his voice absolutely calm as he approached Dante directly. "Here we are."
"Here we are," Dante agreed, his voice steady despite the reality of the situation.
The two men stood facing each other across the warehouse floor, the hunter and the hunted, predator and prey, the man who’d taken everything and the man who’d lost it all.
"You’ve made an interesting series of decisions," Dimitri said, his tone conversational despite the loaded weapons all around them. "You took my woman. You held her. And now you’re standing in a warehouse surrounded by my forces with no escape route and no leverage."
"I tried," Dante said simply. "I failed."
"Yes," Dimitri confirmed. "You did. And now you understand why certain men are predators and certain men are prey. You came at me thinking you could win. But you never had a chance."
Dante was about to respond when something caught Dimitri’s eye.
A shadow in the corner of the warehouse. A figure huddled against the wall, trying to make herself small, trying to disappear.
Isabella.
Dimitri’s expression didn’t change, but something shifted in his eyes...cold recognition, calculated assessment.
He raised his hand and pointed.
"Bundle her out. I’ll deal with her later." Dimitri commanded his men.
Isabella’s head snapped up.
Her eyes went wide with absolute terror.
"No," she whispered.
Then she screamed.
"NO! DANTE! SAVE ME! DANTE!"
She was on her feet, trying to run, but Dimitri’s men were already moving. Two tactical operatives grabbed her, one on each arm, and started dragging her toward the warehouse exit.
Isabella fought with the desperation of someone understanding that she was about to be separated from her only lifeline.
"DANTE!!!" she screamed, her voice echoing through the warehouse. "DANTE, DON’T LET THEM TAKE ME! PLEASE! DANTE!!!"
Dante’s entire body went rigid.
For a moment, just a moment....his cold tactical assessment shattered completely.
He LUNGED forward, his body moving without thinking, moving on pure instinct, moving on the obsession that had defined him for months.
"STOP!" Dante roared, his voice lethal. "LEAVE HER ALONE!"
He was moving fast, trying to cut off her escape, trying to reach her before they got her out of the warehouse.
But Marco was already there, his massive frame blocking Dante’s path.
Dante went at him anyway, no strategy, no calculation, just raw desperation and rage.
Marco grabbed him, held him, physically prevented him from reaching Isabella.
"LET HER GO!" Dante was screaming now, his voice completely unlike the cold tactical operator he’d been moments before. "SHE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THIS! LET HER GO! THE WAR IS BETWEEN US!"
Dimitri watched without emotion.
Isabella was still screaming..."DANTE! DANTE! DON’T LET HIM TAKE ME! PLEASE!"....her voice fading as she was dragged toward the exit.
"She helped you," Dimitri said quietly, his voice cutting through Dante’s screams. "She participated in kidnapping my woman. She’s very much involved."
"No!" Dante was fighting against Marco with every ounce of strength. "She’s innocent! She has nothing to do with this! Let her go! LET HER GO!"
Dimitri turned to his men.
"Bundle her out," he repeated. "Now."
Isabella’s screams became even more desperate..."DANTE! DANTE! SAVE ME! PLEASE!"...but the distance was growing, the gap was widening, and there was nothing Dante could do to stop it.
She was gone.
The exit door closed behind them.
And Dante understood with absolute, devastating clarity that he had just lost the one thing he’d been willing to die for.
He stopped struggling against Marco.
His entire body went slack.
Marco released him, understanding that the fight had just changed fundamentally.
Dimitri was now standing directly in front of Dante.
Just the two of them. And Luca, who had watched the entire thing in silence, understanding that his boss had just been broken in a way that no amount of tactical victory could repair.
"I hope you understand something," Dimitri said, his voice absolutely cold. "You’re going to die here today."
For a moment, Dante didn’t respond.
He was still staring at the exit where Isabella had been taken, still hearing her screams, still processing the loss.
Then his eyes focused back on Dimitri.
And something shifted.
The obsession was still there, but now it was joined by something else, a desperate, final rage. A man with nothing left to lose. A man who understood that he was about to die anyway, so he might as well die fighting.
"You’ll have to kill me first," Dante said, his voice dropping to something lethal. "To make that a reality."
Then hell broke loose.
Time seemed to shift.
Everything went from tense negotiation to absolute chaos in a single moment.
Dimitri’s men opened fire.
Not warning shots. Not suppressive fire. Full, coordinated tactical assault designed to overwhelm and eliminate. ℴℴ𝘮
Luca immediately returned fire, pulling Dante behind an overturned metal container.
"DEFENSIVE POSITIONS!" Luca screamed at the remaining security personnel still in the warehouse.
Approximately fifteen of Dante’s men who hadn’t evacuated returned fire, establishing positions behind warehouse equipment, using the industrial landscape as cover.
The warehouse became a war zone.
Gunfire echoed off concrete walls. Muzzle flashes lit up the darkness. Bullets tore through metal, shattered glass, punched through wooden crates.
