SIGNING IN: BEING SHOWERED BY HEAVENLY BLESSINGS FOR FIVE YEARS
Chapter 1127 - 1123: RUBY’S LOVE LIFE 2
Should she be grateful that he likes her and just accept him?
Why should she do that?
Who is he?
Thanks to Diamond’s continuous brainwashing which also opened her eyes, she knew that settling for less wouldn’t do for her.
She wanted to meet someone who will love her and embrace her even with her flaws. She didn’t want to compromise at all and accept because that’s how it is.
Why should she be the one doing such?
Even if Sean’s family was rich. That was his family and not him. Why shouldn’t he do something for himself?
Moreover, Diamond was doing all that for her sake. So why should she support a stranger and cast aside her own sister?
As a result, the conflict dragged on for months. Every time they meet, things never ended well. Whenever she tries to talk to him, let him understand, or rather let him explain himself, he would always speak nonsense. Things that don’t even make sense, and at the end of it, they would argue and part without speaking.
She even tried to let Waylon knock some sense into Sean, but he was stubborn as a bull. Perhaps, in his family, he was used to having the ladies agreeing to everything that the men say in the house. But in their family, everyone listens to Diamond.
Their family had slowly turned matriarchy, and the voice of the men, though heard, but they can’t influence much in the family.
With all the drama that Sean had been showing her in the few months, she was finally seeing the reason why her sister would want to be in charge. If someone causes trouble, just dump and find someone else. Life goes easier that way.
Moreover, without having or holding one person in your heart, the risk of being completely heartbroken if the relationship fails would be minimum. It was a matter of protecting yourself to the highest degree. And to be like Diamond, one would need a thicker skin.
She wasn’t sure if she was that bold to actually want to have multiple partners, but who knows what the future holds?
But speaking about the present, she couldn’t help but add as she spoke to her friends, "I just know that me and him, we aren’t meant to be. There is no need to waste each other’s time."
"Sigh ..... there is no need to force it."
"Exactly. You are still young and you can take your time."
"Its good that this showed before you even started something."
"Honestly, I am quite envious of you. You have such a wonderful sister. While others might see like she is controlling. I don’t think so. She cares for you and wants the best for you, even if it means opening up her own wounds so that you may see things clearly."
Ruby smiled as she heard them saying something like that. A lot of people, just like Sean had repeatedly whispered about how Diamond was a bit too much, but was that really the case?
She just loves her family so much and doesn’t want any harm falling on them.
She remembered what Diamond once talked about.
Rather than experiencing for yourself just how hot the fire is, learning from those who once burnt can make things easy.
You can prevent certain situations from happening. Prevention is better than cure, they say.
So, why should she let herself be burned first before accepting or admitting that fire is hot?
"I know. She is the best sister I could ever ask for!"
The topic didn’t last for long as everyone could tell that Ruby wasn’t exactly comfortable about it.
With the meal officially over, the girls finally left this restaurant and drove to the next destination. They spent the afternoon, either eating or seeing places. They also chatted greatly during that moment. Talked about business, life and entertainment. Whatever topic they found interesting, they talked about it.
When time for supper was coming, the four friends drove to Lyonheart restaurant, Waylon’s place.
When they got there, Waylon wasn’t there but that didn’t stop them from enjoying their meal.
Once the meal was over, the friends parted cheerfully and went their separate ways.
Ruby drove back to her studio apartment with a smile but when she got there, the smile froze as she happen to see someone she wasn’t in the mood to see.
It seems that the day was doomed from the moment she saw that call earlier.
----****----
Meanwhile, on the way back, Sonia couldn’t help but ponder about Ruby’s issue. She had known Ruby for a short while but her like for the other was huge.
Being the oldest in their small circle, she honestly doesn’t wish to see Ruby being embroiled in a relationship. While falling in love sounded like a good idea, she also understands how that can also restrict a person’s potential.
She once suffered immensely because of love when she was studying. Her head was filled with love. As a result, her focus on her studies dwindled. Even when her family tried to knock some sense into her, she simply viewed them as enemies.
They were the foes who wanted to tear her apart from her loved one. They didn’t wish her well and she hated them greatly at that time.
Who would have known that a year later she would be crying and regretting why she was that stubborn?
She was stubborn and got easily fooled because she was young and she couldn’t reason well. If that had happened when she was a bit older, perhaps, things could have been different.
Now that she was friends with Ruby, she honestly wanted the other to go higher and pursue her own dreams and goals.
As for Sean, his family was complicated. She didn’t think that Ruby would fare well in that family. Without even going there, she doubted if Diamond would even allow her own sister to suffer sch grievance.
So, it was for the best if the relationship doesn’t even happen in the first place.
As she drove home, numerous ways of making sure that happen started flooding her mind.
As for being a villain, one day, her efforts would be appreciated.
