Chapter 2523: Who’s stronger? (5)

"Who do you think is stronger?"

That was the question that naturally came to mind when one watched this tournament.

After the first round was over, there were many people that already had clear favourites on who would win this tournament.

None of the favourites were a surprise since they really were the strongest among the relic users that were a part of the tournament.

Though there was one that stood head and shoulders above the rest.

"Lancelot was once the strongest knight on the continent. Even if he has aged, it’s not as if his skills have been lost."

"He’s gained wings since receiving his relic."

"Right, it’s clear that he’s the one that will win the tournament."

Even now, all of the spectators still remembered the way that Old Man Lancelot had used the match to train his opponent. There was no one that had defeated their opponent as easily as him.

Or it was better to say that there was no one that had been willing to spend their energy with something that they didn’t benefit from at all like this.

So in their minds, they had put Old Man Lancelot ahead of the others.

But in the second round...

"Not like that. You’re putting in too much brute force in your attacks and aren’t controlling them properly. You don’t need to use that much force, you can just condense it to make it stronger."

"Your problem is that you’re thinking too much about how to use your power. It should be something that flows naturally or else you’re wasting too much energy forcing it out."

"Like this, swing like this."

When the relic user that Alidus was facing heard this, he couldn’t help revealing a wry smile.

Everyone else had perfectly passed on their teachings in clear and concise instructions, it was just Alidus that was using this kind of abstract teaching that was based more on feeling.

It wasn’t something that could be easily understood unless one was on the same level as him. So in the end, there was nothing that his opponent could do other than look at him with this same wry smile on his face.

He was hoping that Alidus would realize his mistake and teach him properly since he didn’t have any hopes of winning. He didn’t delude himself into thinking that he could win against Alidus, which was why he had been hoping to learn something from him.

It was just too bad that Alidus couldn’t teach at all...

"Please say anything else other than this."

In the end, Alidus’ opponent had no choice but to beg for him to change his teaching method.

Though when he saw the surprised look that appeared on Alidus’ face, he couldn’t stop his face from twitching.

That expression on Alidus’ face was almost as if he didn’t think he had been doing anything wrong. He thought that his teaching was perfect, so he didn’t understand why his opponent would be saying something like this.

"Ha, ha, ha." The crowd couldn’t stop themselves from bursting in laughter when they saw this.

There was no doubt that they would remember that face that Alidus made and would pass this story on for future generations. It would be a story that would be filled with laughter when it was passed on.

But right now, Alidus wasn’t feeling the same way the crowd was feeling.

Even if his opponent had complained about his way of teaching, it wasn’t as if that would suddenly make him change his way of teaching.

At first, it seemed like he was trying to figure out what he should say to convey his teachings to his opponent. But it seemed like the more that he thought about it, the more frustrated that he became.

After all, this was basically telling him to change his entire personality just to teach this lesson.

It wasn’t as if this was something that could be done with the snap of his fingers.

So in the end, Alidus took some extreme action.

"Grit your teeth."

Alidus’ opponent was shocked to hear this and a bit confused as he didn’t know what Alidus was planning to do. But when he saw Alidus raise his club, it really was hard to confuse this for anything else.

What Alidus chose was to teach him using his body.

He was planning on letting him experience everything so that he would learn through actions rather than words.

It really seemed like his opponent wanted to cry, but he actually didn’t give up because of this. His opponent actually raised his relic and prepared to take this blow from Alidus.

After all, he wanted to learn and it seemed like this was the only way that he would be able to learn.

However, he quickly found out that this was a bad idea.

"I surrender!"

It only took a few hits for him to realize that Alidus really didn’t know what he was doing.

He was someone that was more focused on learning rather than teaching and when he had to teach, he would use the method that worked best for him. It was just that this instinctive style of teaching really didn’t work for anyone else...

"It’s like this..."

"Oh, so that’s what he was trying to show me. I thought he just wanted to hit my face."

Alidus’ expression wasn’t any better when Old Man Lancelot came forward to explain for him. It was just that he couldn’t really say anything since it wouldn’t have been fair for his opponent if he were to interrupt.

After being beaten up like that while expecting to learn something and then not learning a single thing, it would have felt like he was the only one that suffered.

So in the end, he had no choice but to watch as Old Man Lancelot explained everything.

While he was watching, he couldn’t help wondering to himself what the difference was between them.

In his mind, he felt that his teachings were similar to Old Man Lancelot’s.
