Chapter 2480: Garden (1)

"I really wish I could have seen the looks on their faces."

That was the first thought that came to mind after I entered this place.

After all, I knew that the elders that came with me must be making quite the faces after seeing me fall into this place.

They were the ones that had seen me fall previously and thought that they would be able to stop me, but they were proven wrong in the end. Even though they had their guard up the entire time, they weren’t able to stop me from falling into this place.

Looking around, I took a deep breath as I drew in the smell from the medicinal gardens of this place.

This entire space was a garden that had been made to grow spiritual energy plants, so it was filled with a strong medicinal scent. But even though it was a medicinal scent, it wasn’t as if it smelled bad.

This was a nice smell that even invigorated the ones that smelled it.

"It’s most likely because it fills the air with spiritual energy because these are special plants, that’s why there’s this effect."

This was the other thing that we had figured out during our time researching the connection between spiritual energy and mana. Even if we didn’t possess any spiritual energy, just breathing it in like this was still enough to give us a boost.

It was all because of how pure the spiritual energy was that it was able to achieve this effect.

After taking in that breath, I started exploring this place.

Though I already had an idea of where I wanted to go since I had been in this place before.

This garden was a garden that had once belonged to a powerful sect from the past.

This garden was the place where they had planted important herbs that they used for their alchemy halls. Though the herbs that were planted here were only a portion of what they used.

After all, this wasn’t the only garden that the sect had used in the past.

It was just that this was the only one that I knew about since this was the only one that had been in the game.

The reason that I had come to this place was simply because of its connection to that large sect that had collapsed.

"Since this was connected to one of the largest sects that had been in this cultivation world, it should have a connection to the upper realm. There should have been some immortals that came from this sect."

Though I had no idea why the sect fell in the end since that wasn’t in the lore of the game, I wanted to believe that those immortals still existed and left some things in this place that contained immortal energy.

However, there was a part of me that knew that they wouldn’t leave it in a place like this.

This was just a garden, it wasn’t the ruins of that sect.

If there were immortal cultivators that came from this sect, then it would make sense that they would leave their items in the main headquarters of the sect.

So this was nothing more than a shot in the dark.

But as I was walking through the gardens, I couldn’t help feeling that there was something off about this place.

It wasn’t that there was a problem with the herbs that were growing in this place, those herbs were all growing quite well. It was to the point where one had to believe that this place was well taken care of and properly fertilized.

Only that was what was strange about this place to begin with.

"I never thought about it since it was just a game and it was natural that there would be treasures in this place, but why would the plants even be growing like this if there was no one taking care of them?"

The more that I thought about it, the stranger all of this became.

But at the same time, I did feel hopeful about my chances because of this.

The thing that made me the most hopeful was the faint traces of some kind of strange energy that I felt. These faint traces wrapped around the plants that were in this place.

It wasn’t as if this strange energy was coming from the plants, it was as if it was wrapping around the plants.

It was almost as if the plants were being made to absorb the strange energy that was there.

However, the more that I focused on it, the more that I felt that it was strangely familiar.

That was until I finally figured it out.

"It’s like spiritual energy, but it’s also a bit stronger than it. If I had to describe it, it feels like..."

Immortal energy.

That was what it felt like.

It was just that this energy was just too faint that it was hard to figure out where it was coming from. At the same time, it felt like it had spread all over this place, so it didn’t feel like it was coming from a single point.

Which meant that I had to search this entire area to see if there was anything that was here.

But no matter how I searched, I wasn’t able to find what I was looking for.

In the end, the only thing that I could do was head to the last spot that I hadn’t searched yet.

This was a small hut at the center of this garden, a place that was clearly meant for the one taking care of the garden to rest in.

When this place was still a part of the game, this was just a normal hut that didn’t have a single special thing in it. It was a place that everyone would have ignored since there was no loot here.

It was also because of this that I didn’t have any hope for this place at all.
