Chapter 2479: This seems familiar

When I returned to the cultivation world, the elders of the various sects were surprised to see me come back.

After all, they thought that there wouldn’t be a need for me to come back since I had already taken care of everything that I should have taken care of.

So they thought that all they would have to do is deal with the representatives from the racial alliance.

With their interaction with the racial alliance, the elders of the cultivation sects had already figured out what kind of position I held in the racial alliance. It was also why they thought that I wouldn’t be back since I technically had more important things to do.

But it wasn’t as if they could just chase me away.

With my position in the racial alliance, it made it even harder for them to chase me away.

After all, it would be like throwing dirt in the face of the racial alliance if they were to do that.

So after deciding what to do, they just assigned someone to guide me around.

In a way, it was them showing courtesy.

In a different way, it was them keeping an eye on me.

After all, they had no idea what I was here to do, so they wanted to figure that out.

I didn’t show them anything as I simply said that I wanted to tour around a bit more.

I didn’t mention anything about the cultivators that were still acclimatizing to the bracelets since there was nothing that I could do there. It was something that just required them to take the time to get used to, so it wasn’t as if there was anything that could be done for them.

As for the elders that were assigned to show me around, I could tell that these were familiar faces.

These were the elders that had come with me previously when I went to explore the realm. They had once again been assigned to me since they believed that they had a good understanding of me.

Of course, I didn’t show anything as I greeted them in response.

After we greeted each other like this, I had them guide me around a few places.

As we moved through these different cities, they watched me as if they were waiting for me to show my true intentions. It was just that I didn’t do anything as I walked around in these cities.

I was fully acting the part of the tourist that they couldn’t help looking at me with suspicious gazes.

But no matter how they hounded me, it wasn’t as if I was giving them anything.

"Is it possible to open a trade for some of these herbs? I think that we can use them in our kingdom."

Hearing me say this, the elders looked even more confused since they had no idea what I was up to. There wasn’t a single second where they believed that I was just here for sightseeing and to buy herbs.

They thought that I had to be up to something.

Which was why one of the elders went over to the herbs that I was interested in and looked carefully at them. I could even feel a trace of something in the air that I recognized as spiritual sense.

It was as if they trusted me so little that they had to use spiritual sense just to see if there was something off about these herbs.

But in the end, they weren’t able to figure anything out since these weren’t even special herbs. They were normal herbs that didn’t have a single trace of spiritual energy in them, which was why they were traded in the city like this.

The looks on the faces of the elders made it clear that there was more that they wanted to say, but they held their tongues in the end. If they were to actually say this, it might even become an international incident.

What they had done already was considered rude since it wasn’t as if they had been hiding their suspicions. Any more than this would have been hard to cover up and would have been considered an insult to me.

Once they had finished checking the herbs, they quickly promised that they would figure out something.

That was the only thing that they could do since they had to make up for what they did earlier.

I didn’t bother arguing with them since I already knew that they would be acting this way.

Not to mention that the herbs that I was getting from them did have a use.

I had tested it just now and I could tell that this herb could stimulate mana.

I didn’t know exactly how it worked, but this effect would surely be something that the Sorcery Empire was interested in. Offering this to them would certainly be quite the useful card to have.

Other than this, I kept going around looking for other things to bring back as well.

Most of the time, they were herbs just like the ones that I found earlier.

Though I did also pick out a few ores and such that I wanted to bring back as well.

All of these things were only chosen after I made sure that they would have an effect with mana.

Each time the elders double checked the items I picked out, but they weren’t able to find anything off about these items.

It reached a point where they were forcing themselves to pay for things that they shouldn’t have paid for because they kept checking things that I was interested in.

But eventually we left the city and went back to the sect that I was staying in.

As we were leaving, the elders couldn’t help revealing strange looks.

"Why does this seem familiar?"

There was this strange sense of deja vu that came over them that they couldn’t shake at all.
