Shattered Fate
63~ I Can’t Go Through That Again
A voice spoke from within Amin as he stared at the silver entity before him.
"Damn you... Why do you always stand in my way?"
It fell silent for a moment. Then its voice seemed to grow more excited.
"Never mind... You managed to overpower my consciousness, brat. But we'll see something interesting soon enough..."
Amid the inferno, Wail's gaze held no emotion as he stared at his friend, who was on the verge of death.
Amin spoke with difficulty.
"Hurry... Finish it."
Wail slowly approached until he stood before him. Then his transformation faded.
"Ah... I will."
Electricity began gathering around his fist, but suddenly, he heard a voice behind him.
"Stop!!"
Wail spoke without turning around.
"What are you doing here?"
"Don't tell me you're planning to kill him."
"There's no point in letting him live. He'll be furious after this defeat, go off to grow stronger, and then come back to fight me again."
Amin gritted his teeth in anger, while Elyes spoke.
"But he's your friend... Don't you care about that? You, of all people?"
Wail didn't answer.
Elyes continued.
"Weren't you always afraid you'd reach this point? Do you really think you'll be able to get over killing your dear friend so easily?"
Wail clenched his fist, as though Elyes's words had struck a place he didn't want to confront.
"To win... I have to destroy the versions of myself that hesitate... My fear... My doubts..."

He slowly turned toward Elyes and gave him a serious look.
"And everyone who stands in my way."
Elyes's eyes widened.
"Then..."
His yellow aura began to rise around him.
"I'll stand in your way... So what are you going to do?"
The electricity gathering around Wail's fist spread across the rest of his body, enveloping him completely.
"You know exactly what I'll do."
Elyes smiled mockingly.
"Do you really think you're capable of that?"
The two stood ready to attack at any moment.
Suddenly, a voice from behind them interrupted the tense atmosphere.
"Who are you?"
Wail turned around sharply.
"Didn't I tell you not to come back?"
Dua looked at him in confusion.
"I saw explosions...What's going on here?"
She still couldn't understand what was happening. In the next instant, both auras disappeared.
Wail walked toward Dua and spoke.
"Take him with you, or do whatever you want. If he wants to fight me again, I'll be ready."
Then he grabbed Dua.
"Wait, what are you..."
He vanished with her in a flash of lightning.
Elyes remained standing before Amin.
Amin spoke through clenched teeth, seething with anger.
"I never asked for your help, you bastard."
Elyes replied,
"Look at what you've done to yourself."
Silence fell for a few moments.
Then Amin placed a hand over his face.
"Damn it..."
Elyes hesitated before speaking.
"What now? Are you going to say we're the reason you're weak, then leave us again? Aren't you tired of repeating the same thing every time?"
"Shut up!! You don't understand anything..."
Elyes cut him off.
"Yes, I do!! You're wrong, Amin! Can't you understand that?!"
He grabbed Amin by the shoulders and lifted him off the ground.
"Everyone has their own way of growing stronger, and I understand that! But the path you've chosen is wrong, you idiot!!"
Amin said nothing, but his anger only grew.
Elyes shouted,
"Come to your senses!!"
Then he continued,
"You can become stronger, but not by walking down the path of evil."
Elyes finished speaking, panting, then released Amin, letting him fall to the ground.
Silence lingered for several seconds as Elyes continued to look at him.
Finally, Amin spoke.
"It's over... I've lost my eyes. I can't fight anymore..."
For the first time, tears fell from Amin's eyes.
"And I don't want... to fight anymore."
Elyes replied,
"Do you rely on your eyes alone to fight? Are you going to give up just because you can no longer see? Or will you turn this into a challenge to overcome and become even stronger?"
Amin raised his head but said nothing.
Elyes continued.
"Think about it carefully... It's not over, Amin. You still have a chance to change."
---
Wail and Dua appeared somewhere else.
Dua panicked as soon as they arrived.
"Huh? What is this? What's..."
Then her eyes widened.
The night sky was clear and filled with stars. Grass and trees stretched out around them, while the moonlight illuminated the surroundings in a peaceful glow.
A bustling city lay before them.
Dua stared at the sight in amazement.
"Were you... going to bring me here?"
"Yes. I didn't want you to find out about this power. Otherwise, I would've brought you here directly from the beginning."
"I heard about it on the news. Do you really think no one noticed all those explosions and changes in the weather?"
Wail scratched his head.
"Well... I know, but..."
Dua smiled.
"Idiot... Thank you."
Wail looked at her smiling face.
For a brief moment, his expression seemed to return to normal.
But the coldness soon returned to his face.
"You're welcome... I'll be leaving now."
"Really? Aren't you coming back?"
Wail began to walk away.
"I have no reason to stay here... I have to put an end to this disaster."
Dua hesitated for a moment before asking,
"Do you like sunsets?"
Wail stopped in his tracks.
Shock spread across his face.
Dua quickly added,
"Um... It might sound like a strange question, but just answer me."
Wail replied hesitantly,
"I... Yes. I like them."
Dua brightened and let out a light laugh.
"Great!! Then how about we watch one together when you come back next ti..."
Wail interrupted her.
"I'm sorry."
He vanished in a flash of lightning, leaving Dua staring after him in confusion.
"Wail..."
He appeared above the hill where he used to sit, then settled on the tree there.
Memories of Sara and Layla passed through his mind.
He remained silent for a few moments before speaking.
"what I was thinking... She's just a random person I won't even see her again..."
then he looked toward the horizon.
"I can't live through that feeling again."
