Shattered Fate

61~ Bloody Eyes

  • Next Chapter

"It's called... the Bloody Eyes."

Amin appeared in a scene from the past, clutching his eyes as blood streamed from them.

A strange red pattern glowed within his eyes, seemingly moving deep inside them.

The same man who had taken him in stood before him.

"Well done..."

Then he added,

"And remember... The stronger these emotions you feel become, the more powerful your eyes will grow."

---

In the Present...

"The Bloody Eyes?"

Wail looked surprised by what he had just heard.

Amin continued,

"These eyes grant their user a specific ability, but activating it requires a condition to be met."

He pointed toward his eyes.

"And my ability is regeneration."

Wail was about to speak, but Amin interrupted him.

"And as you've already figured out, the condition for activating them is telling your opponent something they don't know."

He paused for a moment.

"The information must be related to my power... or something about the opponent themselves that they aren't aware of."

Wail narrowed his eyes.

"Like what you said about my brother?"

"Yes... I met him, and..."

Wail cut him off sharply.

"Don't tell me about him."

Silence fell for a moment.

"I don't know what happened to him... but I'll find out for myself."

His gaze was ice-cold.

Amin assumed a fighting stance.

Wail spoke.

"So... your ability is nothing more than healing?"

Amin's grin widened.

"After all that, you still call it nothing more than healing? Don't make me laugh!"

If you stumble upon this tale on Amazon, it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

Wail replied,

"You're simply taking advantage of the increase in your energy after recovering from your injuries."

Amin laughed.

"Hahaha! Exactly!"

Flames ignited around his body.

"And your mistake is thinking you're the only one who can do that."

He unleashed a concentrated wave of fire toward Wail.

But Wail's body vanished in a flash of lightning, and he appeared directly behind Amin before attacking him with a sword made of electrical energy.

Amin dodged the strike at the last moment, then reached for the blade.

He deliberately allowed it to pierce his hand.

Wail paused briefly, then moved beside him again and said calmly,

"And your mistake is not realizing that it won't work if you deliberately let yourself get injured."

In the next instant, Wail delivered a lightning-fast kick that sent Amin flying hundreds of meters away.

Amin struck the ground but quickly regained his balance.

Then his energy surged tremendously.

He raised his hands and unleashed a barrage of fireballs toward Wail.

Several struck his body, but he began dodging the rest.

Suddenly, a torrent of flames surged in front of him, forcing him to retreat.

Wail fell back...

Straight into the spot where Amin was waiting for him.

Amin grabbed him from behind, and flames erupted violently around them.

Amin's excitement grew.

But suddenly...

A red lightning bolt tore through his shoulder.

Wail broke free of his grasp, appearing amid the flames in his Reverse Transformation once again.

He paused for a moment before attacking.

But Amin smiled and said,

"Wail... why don't you use the spirit inside you?"

His grin widened.

"The spirit inside me burns with rage whenever it sees your spirit!"

His eyes glowed red.

At the same moment, his body regenerated, and his power began to rise again.

Wail gritted his teeth in frustration.

"Damn it... He comes back stronger every time, while my own power keeps running out."

He clenched his fist.

"I have to..."

Suddenly, a beam of fire pierced his waist.

A powerful punch followed, sending him flying. He skidded across the ground for a long distance before finally coming to a stop.

Wail clutched the wound in his waist and began channeling his energy into it to heal the injury.

But suddenly...

He froze.

"Wait..."

He raised his head.

"Did he say... spirit?"

"You look surprised..."

Amin gradually began to smile.

---

Years Earlier...

During the cave incident, when the cave collapsed on Amin and he had completely lost hope...

A mysterious red entity appeared before him.

Its form was unclear, but its voice was unmistakable.

"I'll help you..."

The entity paused for a moment.

"But you must prove yourself worthy of becoming my vessel."

It was a spirit.

And it was the one that had saved Amin that day.

Without it...

Amin would have lost his life.

---

In the Present...

Amin spoke.

"It has saved my life several times."

Then he looked at Wail.

"But it seems to want to take complete control of my body."

He clenched his fist.

"So I completely suppressed its consciousness."

Wail looked puzzled.

"Suppressed its consciousness?"

Then he realized something.

"You mean your spirit merged with it?"

"Exactly. That way, it can never take control of my body."

He continued,

"But I can't harness its full power... only a tiny fraction of it."

He paused briefly.

"Besides, our consciousnesses will continue merging without stopping for as long as I'm alive."

Wail spoke.

"So... is that everything?"

"What do you mean?"

Wail fixed his gaze on him.

"If that's all the information you have..."

He assumed a fighting stance.

"Then let's end this."

Amin smiled.

"You say that as though..."

He never finished his sentence.

Wail drove a direct punch into his face, sending him flying.

Wail pursued him, grabbed his head, and slammed him into the ground with tremendous force before lifting him back up.

Amin broke free, and flames surrounded Wail from every direction.

But they dissipated the moment Wail released his aura.

Lightning erupted from Wail's body, piercing several parts of Amin's body before Wail landed another punch that sent him flying.

Amin regained his balance and shouted excitedly,

"Don't you understand, Wail?!"

Flames blazed around him.

"You can't kill me unless you..."

He suddenly stopped.

A blade of energy had pierced his right eye.

And yet...

He smiled.

Flames intensified around his fingertips until they began to char.

Wail tried to move away, but Amin lunged at him.

Just as the attack was about to connect...

A faint silver glow appeared in Wail's eyes.

His body moved instinctively, dodging the attack.

Then the glow vanished in the next instant.

Wail slashed Amin's other eye with his hand.

"It's over," he said coldly.

But Amin drove a punch into his stomach, sending him flying.

Wail regained his footing and looked at Amin, who was gathering all the surrounding flames high in the sky.

A gigantic sphere of fire began to form, growing until it resembled a colossal meteor.

Amin spoke.

"I don't need these eyes to kill you, Wail!"

The enormous sphere was on the verge of falling.

"This attack will destroy the entire city..."

Even so, Wail's expression remained cold.

Electricity began coiling around his right hand.

Moments before Amin unleashed his attack...

Silver electrical sparks appeared around Wail's body.

Then, among them, a silver flash emerged.

The flash shot from his hand.

It tore straight through the enormous fireball, continuing toward Amin.

Everything stopped for a moment.

Then...

A massive explosion thundered across the sky.

Flames swept through everything, transforming the area into a blazing hell.

Moments later...

Wail descended slowly.

He looked down at Amin, who had fallen to the ground amid the inferno.

Wail's expression remained utterly cold.

The scene...

Was exactly the same as the one that had unfolded three years later.
