There were more than fifteen convoys that had arrived in Xi City, with a preliminary headcount of nearly two thousand people.

The arrival of this combined convoy would push Xi City’s population to four thousand.

Hou Junji and the others quickly arranged for people to make contact with the massive convoy.

Once they took in this convoy, Xi City would prosper even further.

That was exactly what the Silent Council and Hou Junji himself were happy to see.

As Xi City continued to grow stronger, the Silent Council would also increase its investment in the city.

gaunt, sallow survivors climbed down from the vehicles. Their faces still bore traces of the panic they had felt after witnessing two battles between Superhumans.

But now, that panic was quickly fading.

They had seen the orderly Happy Garden.

Although Chen Ye and the others had only been living in Happy Garden for a few days, things there had already changed somewhat with the help of Sequence superhumans from the Architect Sequence.

At the very least, the flowers and plants in the residential compound’s flower beds looked lively and healthy.

That was thanks to the efforts of some Superhumans from the Botanist Sequence.

After all, this was the home they had gone to such lengths to find. The Botanist Sequence superhumans didn’t mind spending some Supernatural Power to tidy up the compound.

The compound had also been spruced up a little.

And the survivors living there were clearly in much better spirits than those who had just arrived.

At the very least, there was a spark in the eyes of everyone living in the compound.

A gaunt, middle-aged man wore thin-framed glasses with one lens missing, and his hair was an absolute mess.

It was clear that before the apocalypse, he must have lived a fairly comfortable life.

Before the apocalypse, he would never have given an old residential compound like Happy Garden a second glance.

But now, after climbing down from the vehicle, he stared around the compound in disbelief. Some of the buildings nearby glimmered with firelight, while people leaned over their balconies, gazing curiously at the newcomers.

For a moment, the man felt as though he had returned to civilized society.

His body swayed, his knees buckled, and he dropped straight to the ground. Looking at the people watching him from the balconies, he couldn’t help collapsing onto the ground and sobbing uncontrollably.

No one mocked them. Even the ordinary survivors who had moved into the compound before them simply watched in silence.

After all, just a few days ago, those survivors had been in no better shape than this man.

A middle-aged woman held her child in her arms, tears streaming down her face.

She clutched the child tightly.

She knew that she had finally managed to survive.

A woman surviving the apocalypse with a child in tow could only know for herself how many indignities she had endured and how much hardship she had suffered.

“I made it! I survived!”

Representatives from both sides began to meet.

Hou Junji led a group of the main convoy captains from Happy Garden.

On the newcomers’ side, several Pathfinder captains led the way.

“Elder Hou…”

One of the Pathfinder captains’ eyes were wet with tears.

“At first, I thought that letter was some kind of Anomaly trap!”

“I planned to come take a look, and if anything seemed wrong, we’d leave right away!”

“I never imagined it would actually be true!”

“Elder Hou, how did you manage it? How did you take over an entire city?”

Hou Junji watched the captains with a beaming smile.

Each of these captains represented a convoy, with at least dozens of people behind them, and in some cases more than a hundred.

In an apocalypse like this, the significance of that many people was beyond words.

Xi City’s development was just around the corner!

After the convoy captains had finished marveling, Hou Junji began introducing the basic situation in Xi City.

Then he pointed to Chu Che and said, “This is Captain Chu of the Fair Convoy. The Chief Seat you saw just now belongs to the Fair Convoy!”

“And this is Captain Yang of the Shepherd Convoy, and this is Captain Zhao of the Happy Family Convoy!”

“…”

The two sides briefly introduced themselves.

“Everyone, we’re currently staying in the Happy Garden residential compound, but there aren’t many vacant rooms left here!”

“There’s another residential compound nearby called Sunshine Garden. You can stay there!”

“I’ll have someone take you over. Get settled in first, and we can discuss everything else tomorrow…”

No one objected to Elder Hou’s arrangements.

Who would possibly object to having a place to live as soon as they arrived?

“Rumble…”

“Ah…”

“Stop hitting me! I give up, I give up!”

“You damn woman…”

“I was wrong! I’ll never do it again!”

Just as Hou Junji was having people from the Silent Council arrange for the newly arrived convoys to stay in the neighboring Sunshine Garden residential compound, the sounds of fighting and cursing suddenly rang out from the edge of the crowd.

Everyone’s expression shifted slightly.

And then… they witnessed just how lively Happy Garden was.

A sexy woman in a backless bodycon dress was chasing down two or three burly Superhumans and beating them to a pulp.

Several others, their faces bruised and swollen, knelt on the ground and wept as they begged the sexy woman for mercy.

When the newcomers saw the sexy woman’s voluminous wavy hair, long legs, and bodycon dress, they were taken aback, unsure what was going on.

But Elder Hou and the others understood immediately.

Scenes like this had happened several times back at the base. In fact, it happened nearly every time a convoy arrived. Everyone was used to it by now.

The one doing the beating was none other than Demoness Jiang.

She was beautiful and sexy, especially with those long legs of hers. Once you looked at them, it was hard to look away.

A woman that sexy was rare even before the apocalypse, let alone now.

To be fair, the newcomers knew they ought to keep themselves in check for the time being. They only dared to sneak glances and whisper among themselves, not to do anything too out of line.

But them keeping in line didn’t mean Demoness Jiang would.

After seeing Chen Ye and You Hu fight, Jiang Rou had been itching for a fight. She went straight for a few people who had been ogling her long legs.

A few words later, Demoness Jiang had launched into a merciless beating.

Two of the Superhumans had even tried to subdue Demoness Jiang, relying on their strength.

But the moment they started fighting, they understood.

They weren’t even in the same league as Demoness Jiang.

And so…

That was how things had ended up like this.

Two Superhumans were sprawled on the ground, howling in agony as Demoness Jiang beat them.

Three more were still resisting, but they clearly wouldn’t last much longer.

Hou Junji’s mouth twitched. “Um… you’ll get used to it. Just get used to it!”

There was no other way to explain it.

That was Demoness Jiang. Even if he stepped in himself, she probably wouldn’t give him the time of day.

“Who is she…?”

Some of the captains were a little displeased. They had only just arrived, and now they were being treated like this?

Chu Che gave a sly smile. “Jiang Rou, from the Shepherd Convoy. Ancient Martial Artist Sequence!”

At Chu Che’s words, several convoy captains turned to look at Yang Han.

Yang Han’s flushed face froze. He noticed one captain glaring at him, then sheepishly let out a wine-scented belch.

Clearly, one of the people Demoness Jiang was beating was a member of the captain’s convoy.

Chu Che’s mouth twitched, and he added, “She holds the second seat in Guard Team Thirteen!”

The displeased captain’s expression immediately softened. He hurriedly put on a beaming smile. “So she’s the Second Captain! Little Zeng was blind and failed to recognize a mountain when he saw one. It’s only right that the Second Captain teach my men a lesson!”

Clearly, this captain was clever too.

After seeing the battle between You Hu and Chen Ye, he knew that, setting You Hu aside, even the strongest person in his convoy was probably weaker than Wang Yu.

Since that long-legged woman with wavy hair held the second seat, she had to be just a little weaker than the one-eyed guy they had just seen. His convoy couldn’t afford to provoke her.

As long as it wasn’t a matter of life and death, Little Zeng could take a beating. It was no big deal.

“Captain, Captain, save me!”

Just then, Little Zeng, who was being beaten, couldn’t take it anymore. He raised a hand and called out to his captain for help.

The captain’s mouth twitched. He turned away and pretended not to see.

Chu Che and Hou Junji exchanged a look.

It seemed the members of this newly arrived combined convoy weren’t exactly on the best of terms with one another.

And so, less than two hours after the new combined convoy arrived, Demoness Jiang had already made quite a name for herself among them.
