Chapter 385 - 282: The Plan, Part 2

It was as if they were all destitute, facing a famine where they couldn’t even fill their bellies, with not even tree bark to eat, on the verge of starvation. Then someone suddenly appeared and asked them, "Why not eat cake?"

Matt and Bard exchanged a glance, an "I knew it" look passing between them. What they had feared had finally come to pass.

No matter how powerful this person was, he had been asleep for two whole years. He had only just awoken and had a very limited understanding of the current situation.

On top of that, he was young and had just broken through to the Divine Land’s Legendary Realm. It was only to be expected that he would be flush with youthful success—arrogant, reckless, and dismissive of everything.

They waited a moment, fully expecting the members of the Divine Land Anti-Alliance to stand up and object to Zhao Xuanqi’s plan. Instead, they were met with silence. No one said a word, as if they had already reached a consensus.

’The Divine Land Anti-Alliance... agreed to this plan?!’

Seeing the reaction of the Divine Land contingent, Matt immediately understood, and the feeling of absurdity grew even more intense.

He knew that the people of the Divine Land had always seen the Divine General Realm as a beacon of hope, believing that the appearance of a Divine General could turn the tides. He had thought this was just a propaganda tool used by the Divine Land Anti-Alliance to instill hope in all the soldiers and citizens of the Divine Land.

In the face of hardship and desperation, hope was the only thing that allowed one to persevere.

But now, it seemed they had actually started to believe in this unrealistic hope.

This was far too blind, even...

Matt hesitated to use the word "ignorant." After a moment’s thought, he found he could, to a degree, understand the Divine Land Anti-Alliance’s perspective.

The Six Nations had allied, their great armies bearing down on the border. It was as if the heavens themselves were collapsing—a situation of certain doom.

At least they had a place to retreat to. The people of the Divine Land, however, had nowhere left to run.

In such an atmosphere of despair and oppression, a single sliver of light in the darkness became exceptionally precious. They would rather believe in a savior and miracles.

To be honest, if they were in the same situation, they might have resorted to even more desperate measures.

He sighed softly, organized his thoughts, and cleared his throat with a slight cough.

His prestige and status immediately silenced the discussions of the others, and all eyes turned to him.

"Mr. Zhao, you’ve only just awoken and may not yet understand the current situation. A great deal has changed in two years. While the situation is critical, it is not hopeless. After the Pseudo-Government is established, the Six Nations will still need time to prepare before launching another offensive. We can accomplish a lot during this period. I suggest you use this buffer time to familiarize yourself with the details of the situation on all fronts before taking action. Making a rash, risky decision would not be a wise choice."

"And to our friends from the Divine Land, we are well aware of the pressure you face. We will all do everything in our power to help you. Now is not the time to bet everything on a single throw. Our cause is destined to be long and difficult. Only by enduring the darkness can we welcome the coming of the light."

Matt spoke with a sincere expression to Zhao Xuanqi and the people of the Divine Land.

"This was not a rash decision. Furthermore, you may not be aware of the true situation. We are running out of time."

Zhao Xuanqi shook his head slightly.

’The world situation is already deteriorating. From the actions of the Western Continent, I deduce that the Bloodline Species have likely recovered most of their strength. If we delay any longer, they might ride the momentum of their conquest to break through to their peak, or even open an unknown passage. By then, it will likely be too late to salvage anything.’

’However, I can’t reveal these secrets to everyone here. Only I know that this world cannot afford any more delays.’

’I must use thunderous methods to sever the root of all this chaos.’

’Choosing to strike at the Pseudo-Government’s founding ceremony... The three Military Commanders, and even the Western Continent’s Four Marshals, are not my true targets. My goal is to cause a big enough commotion to force the hidden Bloodline Species to reveal themselves.’

"I’m sorry, but if this is such a reckless operation, we will not dispatch our people to coordinate with you. We do not wish to suffer pointless casualties."

A representative from one of the resistance groups spoke up.

"That’s right. A plan like this is utterly farcical. We must consider the safety of our members. If you’ve gathered us here for this, then I see no reason for this meeting to continue."

Another person chimed in.

Afterward, several other resistance group representatives also spoke up, all disagreeing with the operation.

"Everyone, you’ve misunderstood."

Just then, Zhao Xuanqi began to speak, but the scene was rather chaotic, and the crowd’s chatter did not stop at the sound of his voice.

"Everyone."

Zhao Xuanqi raised his voice slightly.

The next moment.

HUMMM!!

In an instant, everyone present seemed to freeze, whether they were in the Ghost God Realm or a lesser tier. At that moment, it made no difference; they couldn’t even manage the subtle vibration of their own vocal cords.

At Zhao Xuanqi’s command, the Heaven and Earth Primordial Qi suddenly gathered, pressing down on their bodies like a colossal mountain.

All discussion came to an abrupt halt.

"For this operation, I do not need you to dispatch any personnel. I only require you to provide me with the relevant intelligence and, at the same time, prepare yourselves to face the external pressure and impact. Because when the time comes, I will be the only one making a move."

Zhao Xuanqi said in a gentle voice.

As he finished speaking, the oppressive Primordial Qi vanished. Everyone regained control of their bodies, but cold sweat trickled involuntarily down their backs. The way they looked at Zhao Xuanqi had finally changed.
