Seeking Martial Dao in All Reborn Lives
Chapter 384 - 282: The Plan
Three days later, Zhao Xuanqi left the Cyan Dragon Sect Secret Land and traveled to a rear base of the Divine Land Anti-Alliance.
Leaders from the various resistance organizations in the Divine Land region received their invitations and began to arrive, setting aside their current tasks to answer the summons.
The Pseudo-Government’s founding ceremony was less than a week away, making time incredibly tight. Therefore, as soon as all personnel were confirmed to have arrived, there was little delay. The Divine Land Anti-Alliance convened a meeting almost immediately after Zhao Xuanqi reached the base.
The meeting was held in an ancestral hall within the mountain village that served as the base.
Inside the ancestral hall, a dozen or so tables and several dozen chairs were arranged in a circle. Some chairs showed obvious signs of insect damage and didn’t look very sturdy. The tables, however, were covered with red cloths that had been scrounged up, giving the whole setup a rather makeshift appearance.
However, it was clear no one present was concerned with such details. At their level and standing, they all knew that the environment was secondary. The people were what truly mattered.
Of the representatives at the meeting, twenty-three were from the Divine Land Anti-Alliance. This included seven restriction-level experts and ten Ghost God Realm masters, with the remainder being other high-ranking members of the Anti-Alliance.
The other national resistance organizations sent fifteen representatives, three of whom had reached the restriction-level.
This was a significant proportion, considering that the total number of restriction-level experts among all foreign resistance forces in the Divine Land region was no more than a handful.
After all, reaching the restriction-level without relying on Secret Medicine was no easy feat. Over half of all the resistance organizations’ top combatants were now gathered within the borders of the Divine Land.
Inside the ancestral hall were people of various ethnicities—Asian, Caucasian, and even African. Yet despite their different appearances, they all shared the same goal.
Matt and Bard of the International Alliance were seated near the front. Among all the resistance groups, the International Alliance was the strongest and most influential. As both men were restriction-level experts, their status and clout were considerable.
At that moment, the eyes of everyone present were fixed on a man they had never met before.
A tall frame, an exceedingly young face, skin as fair as jade, and a pair of eyes as deep and calm as a bottomless pool.
Beyond that, those present could sense nothing else from him.
So this was the legendary figure from the Divine Land, the one who had become a Divine General. ’He’s so young. According to the files, he’s barely over twenty?’
Matt, Bard, and the other resistance representatives exchanged a glance. Zhao Xuanqi’s appearance was quite different from what they had imagined.
His actual strength was unclear, but judging from his seating arrangement, it appeared the experts from the Divine Land regarded him as their leader.
Soon, the meeting began. Li Ping stood up to make introductions. After some brief pleasantries, he initiated the discussion, and the attendees began to exchange intelligence regarding the Pseudo-Government’s founding ceremony.
"This meeting is about more than just exchanging intelligence, isn’t it?"
After a brief exchange of intelligence, Matt spoke up, his eyes landing on Zhao Xuanqi, who had remained silent since the meeting began.
Instantly, all other discussions in the room ceased. The representatives from the various nations turned their gazes to Zhao Xuanqi.
Everyone knew he was the real reason for this meeting.
As all eyes fell upon him, Zhao Xuanqi began to speak slowly.
"I have heard of all your deeds. Everyone here is a person of great principle. Without your dedicated assistance, the Divine Land could not have held on this long."
"I was previously heavily wounded and unconscious for two full years. It was only thanks to the precious materials all of you supplied that I was able to pull through. Now that I have awakened, and at such a critical moment for the Divine Land, it is indeed time to take advantage of the Six Nations’ plot to establish this Pseudo-Government and make our move."
"Time is short, and I know you all have important matters to attend to. It wasn’t easy for everyone to gather, so I won’t beat around the bush. We plan to sabotage the Pseudo-Government’s founding ceremony."
Hearing this, the crowd exchanged glances.
"Mr. Zhao..." Matt began, speaking for the group. "We all want to sabotage the Pseudo-Government’s founding ceremony. The crucial question is how. Do you have a plan?"
"It’s quite simple, actually. The Pseudo-Government is founded upon three armies from the Divine Land’s old Warlord system: the Phoenix, Chengtian, and Giant Spirit. Their former commanders—Jiang Feiyu, Lin Quelan, and Yan Fu—are the greatest traitors to the Divine Land. The founding of this government has brought all three of them to Jinling, which presents us with an opportunity."
"My plan is to kill those three during the founding ceremony. That will shatter the momentum of the Six Nations’ alliance."
Zhao Xuanqi said this calmly, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
’Kill the three former Military Commanders—now the top three figures in the Pseudo-United Government—during the founding ceremony?!’
Matt and the other members of the resistance felt their heads spin. It took them a full three seconds to react, at which point a wave of whispers erupted throughout the hall. A cacophony of different languages filled the air.
’It’s easy enough to say, but how could they possibly pull that off?!’
A ceremony as important as the founding of the Pseudo-Government would be heavily fortified. The military presence of the Six Nations in Jinling would be terrifyingly dense. It was even possible that two or more of the Four Marshals would be in attendance. For a force like theirs, a direct intervention would be no different from suicide.
